Abstract

Dispositif d'affichage d'image comprenant deux plaques de support (1, 2) qui enferment une couche électro-optique (5). L'une des deux plaques de support (1) est munie d'une pluralité d'électrodes d'image au moins sensiblement transparentes (74), alors que l'autre plaque de support (2) comprend au moins une contre-électrode (9). Les électrodes d'image (74) sont reliées à des faces de contact respectives (12) à l'aide de pistes conductrices au moins sensiblement transparentes (11) et sont équipées d'un dispositif d'excitation à semi-conducteur (13). A l'extérieur de la zone de la couche électro-optique (5), au moins les extrémités des pistes conductrices (11) sont munies d'un revêtement supérieur métallique (17) qui s'étend jusqu'à proximité de la face de contact associée (12). Afin de supprimer les variations de résistance des pistes conductrices les unes par rapport aux autres et de dispositif à dispositif, le revêtement supérieur métallique (17) se prolonge en direction de la face de contact (12) sous une forme (par exemple une piste métallique (18) relativement étroite) traversant la face de contact (12) mais recouvrant seulement une partie de celle-ci. Le dispositif d'affichage d'image est réalisé à l'aide d'un masque de dépôt (25) situé sur les pistes conductrices, lequel masque laisse un réseau en forme de peigne (23) à dents (24) plus étroites que les pistes conductrices. L'une au moins des dents (24) s'étend au niveau d'une extrémité de la piste conductrice (11) et d'une face de contact associée (12). Lors de l'application du masque de dépôt (25), le métal est déposé de manière sélective sur la piste conductrice.
