Definitions

  • the invention relates to an interchangeable handle for sliding wood with a handle that is attached to a cross-sectionally L-shaped base plate with a long leg and a short leg, on which tips are provided for driving into the sliding wood, the tips attached to the short leg being at right angles protrude from this and run parallel to the long leg.
  • pushing sticks are used to guide the workpiece past the tool, press against a stop or remove it from the tool. This prevents the carpenter from getting into the immediate vicinity of the tool with his hand and thereby injuring himself.
  • the sliding sticks regularly get into the working area of the tool, so that they are exposed to heavy wear and must be replaced frequently.
  • a wide variety of sliding wood forms are available for different work processes, which the carpenter uses as required.
  • the exchangeable handle described above is used for exchanging and easy handling of the sliding sticks, and its tips can be attached to the sliding sticks relatively easily.
  • the tips for engaging in the sliding wood are rigidly attached to both the short and the long leg of the L-shaped base plate. From a long side of the long leg, a cheek protrudes downward, to which a leaf spring is rotatably fastened, which carries a further tip at the free end, which has to be pressed through a hole in the cheek into a narrow side of the sliding block. Due to their arrangement at a fixed angle of 90 °, the rigid tips are subject to the risk that they easily break off when being attached to and removed from the sliding wood, which is why they are designed to be interchangeable.
  • the tip attached to the leaf spring can be bent slightly so that it no longer engages in the bore of the cheek, but bumps against the cheek next to the bore. Due to the side cheek protruding from the long leg of the base plate, two different interchangeable handles must be kept ready, depending on whether the stop of the machine tool is to the left or right of the workpiece. Last but not least, the leaf spring can only be pulled into the release position using a tool.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a universally usable interchangeable handle for sliding wood available, which can be used for all occurring work at the optimal location of the sliding wood and can be attached to the sliding wood just required without tools and blows in just a few steps.
  • this object is achieved according to the invention in that the tips provided at the free end of the long leg are fastened to a pivoting lever which can be rotated about a shaft.
  • the interchangeable handle according to the invention does not have a cheek protruding downwards on either of its two longitudinal sides, it can be attached to the right, left or in the middle of the sliding block.
  • the tips attached to the swivel lever penetrate into the sliding wood from above when the swivel lever is actuated, pulling the tips protruding from the short leg into the sliding wood, resulting in a very quick and stable fixation of the handle on the sliding wood.
  • the danger of the tips breaking off or bending is eliminated, because all tips are only loaded in the direction of their longitudinal axis, but not across them.
  • the swivel lever is firmly connected to an actuating lever, which preferably points with its free end towards the short leg of the base plate. In this way, the operating lever does not protrude outwards, so that it does not hinder work in which the interchangeable handle must be brought very close to a protective hood or the like.
  • the tips protruding from the long leg through openings in the long leg can be pivoted by means of the actuating lever from a direction essentially parallel to the short leg into an engagement position inclined towards the latter.
  • FIGS. 1 and 2 The structure and the use of an exchangeable handle 10 according to the invention can be clearly seen in FIGS. 1 and 2.
  • a cross-sectionally L-shaped base plate 12 has a long leg 14, from one end of which a short leg 16 protrudes downward at right angles.
  • a plastic handle 18 is attached, which is shaped so that it can be easily gripped by one hand.
  • the two ends of the handle 18 go into a U-shaped bracket 20 which is screwed with its lower part 22 to the base plate 12.
  • each tip 24 is exchangeably screwed into a threaded bore of the short leg 16 with the aid of a hexagon 26 and at the same time serves to fasten the bracket 20 to the base plate 12.
  • the pivot lever 32 extends from the shaft 30 towards the free end of the long leg 14 and carries its underside two tips 34, which are formed in the same way as the tips 24 and fastened exchangeably.
  • the tips 34 protrude through openings 36 in the long leg 14 from the base plate 12 downwards.
  • the pivot lever 32 is connected in one piece to an actuating lever 38, which lies on the other side of the shaft 30 and, in the example of FIGS. 1 to 6, protrudes through the cutout 40 of the bracket 20 in the direction of the short leg 14.
  • bushings can alternatively be inserted into the side walls of the bracket delimiting the cutout 40, so that the side walls 38 of the long leg 14 can be dispensed with.
  • pivot lever 32 and the actuating lever 38 are identical because they are on the same side of the shaft 30.
  • the recess 40 is worked into the front of the bracket 20 here.
  • the actuating lever 38 protrudes from this in the opposite direction to the front as in FIGS. 1 to 6.
  • the base plate 12 is first laid flat on the sliding block 42 in the position of the tips 34 according to FIG. 1, whereupon the two tips 24 of the short leg 16 are pressed into the end face of the sliding block 42. No tools are required for this.
  • the interchangeable handle 10 is removed again and fastened on a new sliding block.
  • the actuating lever 38 is pressed down again, as a result of which the sliding wood 42 is pulled off the tips 24 and the pivotable tips 34 are pulled upwards out of the sliding wood 42.
