Description

The present invention relates to a luminaire for at least one lighting lamp of elongated shape, comprising a profile of a determined length at least equal to that of the lamp, provided with a wiring in electric wire for electrically supplying the lamp from an external power supply line, supports at each end intended to support the lamp and to ensure an electrical connection at each end of the lamp, a connection terminal block intended to ensure the electrical connection between the internal wiring and an external supply line, and several detachable holes or lids at different places in the length of the profile including at its end, each intended to offer, when removed, an entry hole in the profile for the line external power supply.

Such a luminaire is commercially available where it is usually called a "strip", for example the "BASIC" model can be cited under the brand MAZDA.
When using this type of strip and depending on the position of the strip, sometimes the incoming cable (the external power line) is in front of the center of the strip, and sometimes at its end. Assuming for example that the connection terminal block is fixed in the center, and that the incoming cable is at the end of the strip, the installer introduces this cable through an opening at the end, and passes it to inside the strip until you reach the terminal block. The interior of the strip includes elements which reach operating temperatures of the order of 110 ° to 130 °. The problem which then arises is that the cable thus introduced into the strip is not generally of a "high temperature" type , despite the indications possibly given for this purpose by labels affixed in the strip, which risks d 'to be dangerous.

The invention proposes to solve this problem.
For this purpose, the profile is provided with at least two means for fixing the connection terminal block, each of a type making this block removable, which therefore makes it easy to choose the place of the terminal block, and each of the electrical wires of the internal wiring. which are connected to the connection terminal block has a sufficient length and an adequate arrangement to be able to join this block in each of its positions.
Thus the terminal block can be placed near the inlet opening of the external cable, which avoids passing the latter through the interior of the strip, near hot elements.
In a preferred embodiment, one of the terminal block fixing means is located near the center of the profile, and the other near one of the ends of the profile.
So we can face the two most common situations. A single end position is sufficient since it is always possible to orient the entire strip in the desired direction to present the appropriate end on the cable arrival side.
Advantageously, an orifice or a detachable cover is provided near each of said positions.
Thus the length of cable located inside the strip and not supporting heat is limited to the maximum and there is no risk of it passing in the vicinity of a hot element.

These aspects of the invention as well as other more detailed aspects will become more clearly apparent from the following description of a nonlimiting embodiment. FIG. 1A schematically represents, seen from above with the tube below, a strip for fluorescent tube.
Figure 1B shows in perspective and on a larger scale part of the strip to illustrate the way whose position of the terminal block can be changed.

The description below mentions a strip for fluorescent tube, but it is clear that the invention applies equally well to any luminaire provided for a lamp of elongated shape, in particular of tubular type.
The strip of Figure 1A has a profile 7 of a length at least equal to that of the lamp, provided with electrical wire wiring 6, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 for electrically supplying the lamp. Supports 4 and 5 at each end of the profile are intended to support the lamp and to provide an electrical connection to each of the ends of the lamp. The latter is a fluorescent tube with preheating filaments with two pins at each of its ends. It is not shown in its place between the supports 4 and 5 so as not to hide other elements of the figure. A connection terminal 16 is intended to ensure the electrical connection between the internal wiring and an external supply line 18. Several entry points for the external supply line 18 are provided in the profile 7, placed at different locations in the length of the profile. During manufacture, they are produced in the form of detachable lids, by means of a dotted cutout of the sheet metal of the profile, as indicated in 3. During installation, a lid is torn off so as to provide an orifice as indicated in 9. The profile is provided with at least two means of fixing the terminal block to the locations marked by 16 and 17. These means are both of a type making the block removable, which therefore makes it possible to easily choose the place of the terminal block at 16 or 17. It may for example be a slot in which engages ("clips") a lug carried by the terminal block, or any other known means making the terminal block removable, clip, screw, etc.
Here the terminal block is in position 16. The wire 13 connects a first terminal of the terminal block 16 to a first terminal of a balancing capacitor 2. The wire 6 connects this same terminal to a first terminal of a ballast 1. The second terminal of the ballast is connected to a first terminal of the tube support 5. The second terminal of this support 5 is connected by a wire 11 to a first terminal of a "choke" 8, the second terminal of which is connected by a wire 14 to a first terminal of the tube support 4. The second terminal of this support is connected by a wire 15 to the second terminal of the capacitor 2, and by a wire 12 to the second terminal of the terminal block 16. The wires 6, 12, 13 pass near the ballast 1 and therefore are brought to high temperature.
The wires connected to the terminal block are the wires 12 and 13. It is clear that their length and their arrangement make it possible to move the terminal block from position 16 to position 17 by simply folding the wires, as shown in FIG. 1B. The part of the profile represented on the right of this figure is the center of the profile, with the orifice 9. The terminal block is represented twice, on the right with the reference 16 and connected by means of the wires 12A and 13A, and on the left with the reference 17 and connected by means of wires 12B and 13B, which are the same as wires 12A and 13A but folded over. Each of the electrical wires which are connected to the connection terminal block has indeed a sufficient length and above all an adequate arrangement, in order to be able to join this terminal block in each of its positions 16 or 17. At first sight the arrangement of the wires which allows this appears natural, but nevertheless we can notice that the node (in the electric sense of the term) made up of wires 13 and 6 should normally (in order to use less wire) be made of a wire connecting terminal block 16 to ballast 1 (which is more close to it than the capacitor 2), and another wire connecting the ballast to the capacitor. Then the wire connecting terminal block 16 to ballast 1 would be too short to reach position 17, unless voluntarily providing a longer wire which would then be folded over to join the terminal block in position 16.
Of course, a cover (not shown) covers the profile 7 at the end of installation, to hide the various elements 1, 2, 8, 16.
