Definitions
- the invention relates to a tube closure with a screw cap made of plastic according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such tube closures are known in a wide variety of embodiments and are customary and e.g. in DE-A1-93 00 042 of the applicant.
- the tube thread is either molded onto the tube neck or formed in one piece with the tube neck.
- solutions are also known in which the tube itself has no thread and a threaded part e.g. is snapped onto a threadless attachment on the tube shoulder or is otherwise connected to the tube.
- the guarantee tape is tear-off connected to the tube neck.
- the guarantee band engages with the screw cap in such a way that it tears off when the tube is opened for the first time.
- the screw cap has a radially outwardly projecting bead on its lower edge, which extends over the guarantee band when the screw cap is fitted. When opened, the guarantee band is pulled up by this bead so that it tears off the tube neck.
- the invention has for its object to improve the construction of such a tube closure with a guarantee tape in such a way that the guarantee tape on the one hand shows the first opening in working order and after manipulation cannot simply be placed over the tube neck again and jammed on it, and on the other hand it is structurally simple can be produced and attached to the tube closure.
- the invention provides in an optimally simple way to subdivide the guarantee band by at least two separating slots in such a way that it divides into at least two protruding guarantee band segments in the event of damage.
- the opening for the first time is clearly indicated by the protruding band segments and at the same time the individual segments have the advantage over a circumferential ring that they can be separated from the screw cap, so that T-shaped caps can also be used and become clear after the tube is closed again it can be seen that this has already been opened once.
- the tear-off connection between the guarantee band and the tube neck can be made in different ways.
- tubes with an attached threaded part made of plastic it is known to connect the guarantee band in one piece to the threaded part by means of connecting elements.
- connecting elements The same possibility also exists for the increasingly common tubes made entirely of plastic.
- An advantageous alternative is to use an additional ring which is screwed onto the tube thread or snaps behind the thread. In this case, the guarantee band is connected to this ring by connecting elements.
- the sensitivity of the guarantee tape depends to a large extent on the depth of the separating slots. In any case, these must be so deep that the guarantee band is divided into individual segments when it is opened for the first time.
- the guarantee band is completely subdivided by the separating slots, so that it already consists of several guarantee band segments that are not directly connected to one another before opening for the first time. Each of these segments is held in position by at least two connecting elements.
- the tamper-evident band disintegrates particularly safely after manipulation if the guarantee band has radially inwardly directed retaining elements and if the screw cap carries at least one radially outwardly directed bead or projection, via which the retaining elements can engage in a form-fitting manner as soon as the separating slots snap back into the starting position.
- the guarantee band can be made particularly stable and firmly connected to a retaining ring or the thread or the tube neck if a connecting element is provided on each side of the separating slots.
- the individual segments of the guarantee band protrude conspicuously, in particular in an axially symmetrical form, after the connecting elements have torn.
- each guarantee band segment is held by two connecting elements, one of the connecting elements being arranged at each end of the guarantee band segment is. This ensures that the segment is only connected to the tube neck at one end after the breakage of one of its connecting elements, so that the injury is clearly visible.
- both connecting elements of such a segment break at the same time when the closure is opened.
- the relevant segment will automatically disappear, which is particularly the case with foods such as Tubes containing mayonnaise or mustard, which are used in the preparation of dishes, have one disadvantage: if the consumer is careless, a guarantee band segment could fall unnoticed into a prepared dish.
- the screw cap can be secured particularly securely with the guarantee band if there is a barb axially directed against the tube closure on the guarantee band.
- the screw cap 6 shown schematically in FIG. 1 serves to close the tube neck 1, also shown schematically in FIG. 2, and therefore forms a tube closure together with the latter.
- the tube neck 1 has an external thread 3 and on the screw cap 6 there is a corresponding one Internal thread 5 provided.
- an annular guarantee band 10 is attached, which extends coaxially to the thread 3.
- the connection between the guarantee band 10 and the tube neck 1 is established by a ring 4 engaging under the thread 3, to which the guarantee band 10 is fastened by means of tear-off webs 9, 9a serving as a connecting element.
- the guarantee band 10 has at its upper end radially inwardly directed retaining elements 11 which have the shape of a barb in cross-section and whose inside diameter is smaller than the outside diameter of a projection 8 projecting outwards at the lower edge of the screw cap 6 with the screw cap on, a positive connection with the projection 8 of the screw cap, which can only be released by destroying the guarantee band.
- FIG. 3 shows the tube closure with the screw cap 6 fully screwed on, the projection 8 of which is overlapped by the retaining elements 11 of the guarantee band 10.
- the guarantee band 10 is divided by two approximately vertically extending separating slots 7.
- the separating slots 7 shown here completely cut through the ring-shaped guarantee band 10, so that it is basically two independent, semicircular guarantee band segments. This is a preferred embodiment, but in principle it would also be possible to reduce the depth of the separating slots 7, so that the guarantee band 10 would only be weakened in the area of the separating slots 7 and would then break open when the tube closure was first opened.
- the two guarantee band segments are only connected at their ends by tear-off webs 9, 9a to the inner ring 4. In principle, further tear-off webs could be arranged along the guarantee tape segments.
- the restriction to only two tear-off webs 9, 9a arranged at the ends has the advantage that when the closure is opened one of the two webs is the first to tear, thus ensuring that the segment only has one end at the end after the closure has been opened Ring 4 is connected so that it stands out clearly visible.
- the two tear-off webs 9, 9a are preferably of different strengths, so that it is ensured that one of the two webs (the weaker web 9) is the first to tear. The risk that both webs 9, 9a tear at the same time can thus be excluded.
- the stronger tear-off webs 9a and the weaker tear-off webs 9 are preferably distributed such that one of the segment ends adjoining a separating slot 7 is connected to the inner ring 4 by a stronger web 9a and the other by a weaker web 9. This results in a regular image of the broken guarantee band when the closure is opened; in the present example with two semicircular guarantee band segments, an approximately axially symmetrical image is obtained.
- the projection 8 runs onto the lower edge of the holding elements 11 and takes it upwards until the tear-off webs 9 tear off and release the guarantee tape. Since the tear-off webs 9 are formed laterally on the inner surface of the guarantee band 10, a shear force is exerted on the tear-off webs 9 when opened, so that they tear reliably.
- the condition of the guarantee band after the first opening of the tube closure is shown in FIGS. 6 and 7.
- the different strengths of the tear-off webs 9, 9a mean that only the weaker tear-off webs 9 tear off and the individual segments remain connected to the inner ring 4 by the stronger webs 9a.
- the already mentioned, alternating arrangement of strong and weak tear-off webs results in a regular, in this case axially symmetrical, image of the broken guarantee band.
- the ring 4 can also be easily produced in an injection molding tool which works without radially opening jaws.
- the ring 4 with the guarantee band 10 can advantageously be made of a plastic with a different color than the screw cap 6. This allows the visual display of the absence of the guarantee band 10 to be improved.
- FIG. 8 shows the side view of the tube neck of FIG. 2.
- the continuous separating slot 7 of the guarantee band 10 can be clearly seen, in the lower region of the separating slot 7 a section of the ring 4 arranged within the guarantee band 10 is visible.
- FIG. 9 shows a tube neck with an alternative embodiment variant of the guarantee band, which has three separating slots 7a and consists of three guarantee band segments 12 of the same size.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a tube closure with a screw cap made of plastic according to the preamble of
The tube thread is either molded onto the tube neck or formed in one piece with the tube neck. On the other hand, solutions are also known in which the tube itself has no thread and a threaded part e.g. is snapped onto a threadless attachment on the tube shoulder or is otherwise connected to the tube. The guarantee tape is tear-off connected to the tube neck. When the screw cap is attached, the guarantee band engages with the screw cap in such a way that it tears off when the tube is opened for the first time. As a rule, the screw cap has a radially outwardly projecting bead on its lower edge, which extends over the guarantee band when the screw cap is fitted. When opened, the guarantee band is pulled up by this bead so that it tears off the tube neck.
In the case of the known ring-shaped guarantee bands, this leads to the guarantee band being torn off completely from the tube neck when it is opened and remaining on the screw cap. After resealing such a closure, the guarantee band can return to its original position, so that the tube can hardly be seen when it is opened for the first time. To avoid this, the guarantee ring must be removed by hand after opening the tube over the upper end of the screw cap. This type of guarantee tape can therefore not be used with T-shaped or other screw caps that increase in size because the tape then can not be removed and thus would remain firmly connected to the screw cap even after opening.
The invention has for its object to improve the construction of such a tube closure with a guarantee tape in such a way that the guarantee tape on the one hand shows the first opening in working order and after manipulation cannot simply be placed over the tube neck again and jammed on it, and on the other hand it is structurally simple can be produced and attached to the tube closure.
According to the invention, this object is achieved according to the characteristics of the claims. The invention provides in an optimally simple way to subdivide the guarantee band by at least two separating slots in such a way that it divides into at least two protruding guarantee band segments in the event of damage. When the screw cap is opened for the first time, the guarantee tape segments are torn off until they release the screw cap. They are not completely torn off and remain connected to the tube neck by at least one connecting element even after opening. They must therefore be completely removed by the consumer, which leads to awareness raising of the first opening. The opening for the first time is clearly indicated by the protruding band segments and at the same time the individual segments have the advantage over a circumferential ring that they can be separated from the screw cap, so that T-shaped caps can also be used and become clear after the tube is closed again it can be seen that this has already been opened once.
The tear-off connection between the guarantee band and the tube neck can be made in different ways. In the case of tubes with an attached threaded part made of plastic, it is known to connect the guarantee band in one piece to the threaded part by means of connecting elements. The same possibility also exists for the increasingly common tubes made entirely of plastic. An advantageous alternative is to use an additional ring which is screwed onto the tube thread or snaps behind the thread. In this case, the guarantee band is connected to this ring by connecting elements.
The sensitivity of the guarantee tape depends to a large extent on the depth of the separating slots. In any case, these must be so deep that the guarantee band is divided into individual segments when it is opened for the first time. In a preferred embodiment, the guarantee band is completely subdivided by the separating slots, so that it already consists of several guarantee band segments that are not directly connected to one another before opening for the first time. Each of these segments is held in position by at least two connecting elements.
The tamper-evident band disintegrates particularly safely after manipulation if the guarantee band has radially inwardly directed retaining elements and if the screw cap carries at least one radially outwardly directed bead or projection, via which the retaining elements can engage in a form-fitting manner as soon as the separating slots snap back into the starting position.
The guarantee band can be made particularly stable and firmly connected to a retaining ring or the thread or the tube neck if a connecting element is provided on each side of the separating slots. In addition, the individual segments of the guarantee band protrude conspicuously, in particular in an axially symmetrical form, after the connecting elements have torn. In a particularly preferred embodiment, each guarantee band segment is held by two connecting elements, one of the connecting elements being arranged at each end of the guarantee band segment is. This ensures that the segment is only connected to the tube neck at one end after the breakage of one of its connecting elements, so that the injury is clearly visible.
It can happen that both connecting elements of such a segment break at the same time when the closure is opened. In such a case, the relevant segment will automatically disappear, which is particularly the case with foods such as Tubes containing mayonnaise or mustard, which are used in the preparation of dishes, have one disadvantage: if the consumer is careless, a guarantee band segment could fall unnoticed into a prepared dish. In order to avoid this and to ensure that only one of the two connecting elements breaks, these are preferably of different strengths, so that only the weaker one breaks when opened.
However, the use of tear-off webs of different thicknesses as connecting elements between the guarantee band and the tube neck (retaining ring, threaded attachment, etc.) has also proven itself in general is that the guarantee tape is also passed over the tear-off bars during injection molding and that, on the other hand, the bars tear reliably when they are opened for the first time, thus indicating that they have been opened. The arrangement of two separating slots arranged approximately diametrically opposite each other, which divide a ring-shaped guarantee band into two semicircle segments, has proven particularly useful.
The screw cap can be secured particularly securely with the guarantee band if there is a barb axially directed against the tube closure on the guarantee band.

The
On the
When the
From Figure 5, which shows the tube neck and the
The two tear-off
When the
Since the tear-off
