Definitions
- the invention relates to a monofilament with a diameter of 0.01 to ⁇ 0.1 mm, made of a copolyester Polyethylene terephthalate / polydialkylsiloxane, the polyethylene terephthalate content of which is at least 85% by weight, for the production of fabrics and for the use of these fabrics.
- Fine monofilaments are to be understood here as monofilaments whose diameters range from 0.01 to ⁇ 0.1 mm.
- the object of the invention is to improve the weavability of fine polyester monofilaments in warp and weft, to produce no peeling, splices and no abrasion during weaving and the running times for Extend weaving by reducing cleaning effort.
- the monofilament has a maximum tensile strength or elongation at break of ⁇ 30%, a strength of at least 45 cN / tex and at the same time an elastic modulus at 5% Has an elongation of> 500 cN / tex.
- copolyesters are included in the polyester chain built-in comonomers made of functionalized polysiloxanes, the weavability of the monofilaments with a Significantly improve diameters from 0.01 to ⁇ 0.1 mm. There are no visible peeling on fine Monofilament between 0.01 and ⁇ 0.1 mm in diameter. This means that the previously frequent cleaning cycles can be carried out in the weaving mill extend significantly. There are no blockages in the tissue openings.
- copolyesters are used which are already in the production be modified with functionalized polydialkylsiloxanes and which preferably contain about 0.5% by weight of silicon in the finished thread.
- Polysiloxanes of the type used as the starting material for the Use according to the invention are known from EP-A-0 269 023.
- the well-known chemically modified Polymers are used to manufacture matrix fibers, but are in their present form for precision fabrics unsuitable for filter media, screen printing.
- JP-A-50090715 describes a mixture (blend) of a polyester with a polysiloxane for the production of Multifilaments known.
- the monofilament has a residual tensile strength of> 85%. based on the knot-free Monofilament with a maximum tensile strength extension of 15%. With this combination, the knot strength of the monofilament significantly improved.
- the Si content is 0.05 to 2.0% by weight, in particular 0.05 to 1.5, preferably 0.05 to 1.0 % By weight, based on the weight of the monofilament.
- test device under web-like conditions was used to determine the abrasion and the peeling used.
- the abrasion of the polyester monofilament modified according to the invention is on the reed from the test device used although still very poorly visible, it is no longer weighable. It is particularly advantageous that the Manufacturing a fabric on a loom does not necessarily mean cleaning the reeds in the meantime is necessary or that the cleaning cycle is extended. This also makes the quality of the fabric significant improved.
- polyester / polydialkylsiloxane monofilaments according to the invention is particularly useful for the production of fabrics for filter media, sieves and those suitable for screen printing.
- 13f1 was chosen as the model titer and the copolyester made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) as the polymer. This corresponds to a diameter of 0.034 mm for all (PET) / (PDMS) monofilaments.
- the spinning conditions for all examples are: melt temperature 290 ° C winding speed 600 m / min Polymer throughput 23 g / min or 27 g / min
- the monofilaments were further stretched on a stretching machine to the maximum tensile strength of 28 +/- 2% or 20 +/- 2% single-stage stretched at 200 ° C at 100 m / min.
- FIG. 2 shows the result of a weaving test in the form of photographic recordings of the weaving leaf used again.
- the threads with positions 1-4 are according to the invention and show very little abrasion and peeling; the threads according to items 5-10 are comparative tests without PDMS and show considerable abrasion or Peels on the reed of the test machine. It follows that the monofilament according to the invention shows significantly improved weavability and longer working cycles.
- the determination of the coefficient of friction is based on the rope friction equation.
- the measurement of the coefficient of friction was carried out using a device from Rothschild Mess Instrumente, Zurich, for 2 minutes.
- the determination of the coefficient of friction "ceramic / thread", the ceramic pin has a diameter of 20 mm and a Roughness of 0.45.
- the monofilament made of PET / PDMS is about 10% lower friction coefficient in both In the case of thread / thread as well as in the case of ceramic / thread.
- the monofilament according to the invention shows a significantly lower fibrillation.
- the claimed monofilaments made of PET / PDMS are also less stiff than known monofilaments. According to the invention, the peeling of homogeneous polyester monofilaments with a diameter ⁇ 0.1 mm and a residual elongation ⁇ 30% has been successfully eliminated for the first time.
