Definitions

  • the present invention relates to the recovery and storage of waste from production machines, said recovery being carried out directly by collecting waste on the machine. It relates more particularly to an autonomous and mobile device specially adapted for the collection and storage of waste from computer equipment, waste which is in the form of perforated strips of paper, also called Carol tape.
  • the first document describes an apparatus comprising a box, with a separation compartment, which comprises in its lower part an opening for admitting dust from a grinder, and which is equipped in its upper part with a filter made of textile material.
  • a fan is mounted on the outside of the box making it possible to create, by suction, an air flow inside the box, from the inlet opening, to a discharge opening which is made in the wall. top of the box.
  • the air drawn in at the inlet of the intake opening is charged with particles of different sizes. The heaviest particles fall to the bottom of the box, before reaching the filter; the finest particles are carried by the ascending air to the filter, on which they deposit.
  • the aim set by the applicant is to propose a space-saving device which can be placed close to one or more production machines generating such waste and which can collect and store the waste produced by the or said machines, without being a nuisance for operators.
  • the device of the invention which, in known manner, comprises a box, which on the one hand comprises waste storage means and at least one separation compartment whose lower part is open and overlooks the waste storage means, and which on the other hand is equipped with ventilation means and comprises a waste introduction opening and an air discharge opening.
  • the ventilation means consist at least of a first fan, which is placed inside the box, the suction mouth of which is connected, towards the outside of the box, to a waste collection duct, and the discharge mouth of which gives into the upper part of the separation compartment, so that the air flow discharged by the first fan is projected substantially horizontally into the separation compartment;
  • the device further comprises an air and waste separation grid, which is interposed between the separation compartment and the opening evacuation of the box, and which is inclined downwards from the outlet of the first fan.
  • the waste is collected on the production machine through the collection duct, it is drawn into the duct, passes through the first fan and is projected into the separation compartment.
  • the discharge air passes through the grid, and leaves the device through the exhaust opening.
  • the waste due to the presence of the grid, it falls towards the bottom of the separation compartment up to the storage means.
  • the positioning and tilting of the grid relative to the discharge opening of the first fan allow the collected waste to slide along the grid, without risk of snagging or accumulation.
  • the first fan comprises a wheel provided with knives, which makes it possible to obtain shredding of the continuous strips, at the entrance to the separation compartment, and by itself to promote air / waste separation.
  • the device comprises additional ventilation means which are connected to the outlet opening of the box, and which allow a evacuation of the air contained in the box, with a sufficient flow to at least partially compensate for the overpressure inside the box.
  • This overpressure phenomenon is in fact particularly harmful, when the separation compartment opens onto non-sealed storage means, for example a baler.
  • these additional ventilation means can be external to the box, by being connected to the outlet opening of the box, for example by means of a flexible duct.
  • these ventilation means are integrated into the box.
  • they are constituted by a second fan, which is fixed in the box at the level of the evacuation opening; in this case, the discharge opening is equipped with an air flow adjustment means, of the register ferrule type.
  • the box advantageously comprises a filtration compartment which is located above the separation compartment, and a filtration, which is placed in the filtration compartment, between the separation grid and the evacuation opening of the box.
  • the filtration system can consist of a disposable static filter.
  • the separation grid is fixed.
  • the filtration system consists of a dust bag which is placed just above the separation compartment and which is provided with vibration means; more the grid is retractable between its normal position and a second position where it no longer interposes between the two separation and filtration compartments.
  • the retraction of the grid can be obtained in particular by pivoting it around a horizontal axis, integral with the edge of the grid which is located towards the upper part of the discharge mouth. In this case during pivoting, the grid is placed along one of the interior faces of the separation compartment, adjoining the first fan.
  • the dust bag is for example fixed on a support frame and the vibration means can for example consist of a handle, which is accessible from outside the box and in rubber pads on which said frame is mounted and capable of undergoing repeated movements.
  • the operator When cleaning the dust bag, the operator just needs to grab the handle and give it a few quick movements.
  • the device of the invention can be placed on independent storage means, for example an open skip.
  • the storage means consist of a waste receptacle, which is located in the box, below the separation compartment; in this case, the device comprises adaptation means between the open face of the separation compartment and the opening of the receptacle.
  • the box has an access door, facing the receptacle.
  • the adaptation means consist of a part extending the internal faces of the separation compartment up to the entrance to the receptacle; of course its shape is a function of the shape of the opening of the receptacle. If it is a cylindrical barrel, the adapter part will have in its upper part a substantially square section and in its lower part a substantially circular section.
  • the receptacle can also consist of a plastic bag. In this the edge of the opening of the bag will be fixed around the lower part of the adaptation piece, preferably circular.
  • the underside of the separation compartment gives onto the storage means by means of a compacting screw, housed in the lower part of the box, so that its feed opening is connected to the open side of the separation compartment, and its evacuation opening leads to the storage means.
  • the discharge opening of the compacting screw opens out of the box through an orifice around which is placed, externally to said box, an annular piece for fixing the storage means.
  • the storage means consist of a plastic bag
  • the presence of the compacting screw makes it possible to multiply by two or three the time necessary to fill the same plastic bag, which correlatively reduces the time spent removing the filled bag and replacing it, and also the space taken up for storage. definitive full bags.
  • the fan and the compacting screw can only be started if a bag has been placed and fixed on the annular part, each finger forming a switch then being in the on position.
  • the inner face of the separation compartment opens onto a baler which also acts as storage means.
  • the compacting screw or the baler makes it possible to densify the waste, which reduces the frequency of evacuation of the stored products.
  • the baler is not waterproof and due to the overpressure inside the box, waste can escape into the room where the device is located. Consequently, in the case of a device equipped with a baler, it will preferably be made in its version with additional ventilation means.
  • the suction mouth 8 of the fan 5 passes through the box 3 and is connected to a conduit, not shown, intended for the collection of waste.
  • this conduit can be divided into several connection conduits, the free ends of which will be placed on said machines, at the source of production of the waste.
  • the suction mouth 8 of the fan 5 is extended by a half-silencer flush with the box and the collection duct is itself terminated by a half-silencer capable of be fitted into the one permanently mounted on the box.
  • a separation grid 9 occupies the entire section of the separation compartment 6. This grid 9 is fixed by one of its edges to a horizontal axis 10, itself fixed along the upper part 7 a of the discharge mouth 7 of the fan 5.
  • the grid 9 is pivotable around the axis 10, its edge 11, opposite to said axis 10, being in the normal position, applied against a stop 12, which is below the level of axis 10 so that said grid forms, with respect to the horizontal, a angle ⁇ of approximately 20 °.
  • the stop 12 is an upper stop, that is to say that during its pivoting around the axis 10 the grid 9 descends until substantially taking a vertical position, inside the separation compartment 6.
  • Maintaining the grid 9 against the stop 12 in the normal position is obtained for example using a spring system mounted around the axis 10 and pushing the grid 9 upwards.
  • the pivoting of the grid 9 downwards can be controlled from outside the box using a control wheel mounted on the shaft 10.
  • the separation compartment 6 has its upper face which is open and gives into the filtration compartment 13.
  • This compartment comprises the filtration system proper 14 as well as an air discharge opening 15, formed in the box 3 .
  • the filtration system 14 consists of a dust bag 16, made of canvas, which is hung and suspended on a metal frame with horizontal crosspieces 18 between which the bag 16 hangs in the form of loops, said loops being held in position by means of inserts not shown.
  • the filtration system 14 can also be a disposable cassette filter; in this case the grid 9 does not need to be pivotally mounted.
  • the metal frame 17 is mounted flexible on two rubber seals 19 of the Paulstra type. It is also provided with a handle 20 passing through the box 3.
  • the lower part of the separation compartment 6 is extended by an adaptation piece making it possible to transform the substantially square section of the separation compartment 6 into a substantially circular section.
  • the lower end 21 a of this adaptation piece 21 has a diameter which is determined as a function of the storage means used.
  • FIG. 1 it is a barrel 22 which is placed inside the box 3, under said end 21 a .
  • the box is provided with an access door, not shown, allowing the introduction and evacuation of the storage barrel 22.
  • the operation of the mini-power plant 1 is as follows: the collection pipe or pipes, the free ends of which are placed directly on the production machines, convey the waste, by suction, thanks to the action of the fan 5. This waste and the sucked air are discharged together through the discharge mouth 7.
  • the presence of the grid 9 makes it possible to separate the discharged air which preferably passes through the holes in the grid and goes up towards the filtration compartment 13 while the waste is retained by the grid and is directed towards the barrel 22.
  • the positioning and the inclination of the grid 9 are determined in order to promote the formation of an air film on its surface, which allows the waste to slide along it, without risk of snagging or accumulation.
  • the grid 9 is chosen with an open section which creates a rising speed of the air, such that this speed is insufficient to cause a possible rise of the waste from the barrel 22.
  • the fan used had a flow rate of the order of 1,200 m3 / hour for a pressure of 200 millimeters of water height.
  • the grid had a mesh of 2 x 2 millimeters.
  • the fan used included a wheel provided with knives, which made it possible to obtain a certain shredding of the continuous strips, favorable for air separation. /waste.
  • the discharged air passing through the grid 9 passes through the dust bag 16, allowing the retention of fine particles contained in this air.
  • the air thus filtered is reintroduced into the room through the exhaust opening 15.
  • the part of the mini-power station 23 which is located above the axis AA ′ is strictly identical to what was described previously in the first example.
  • This mini-central 23 is mainly characterized by the presence of a compacting screw 24 which makes it possible to densify the waste recovered before its introduction into the storage means.
  • the compacting screw 24 is in the form of an endless screw 25 mounted inside a cylindrical enclosure 26 with an inside diameter slightly larger than the diameter of the screw 25.
  • This worm 25 is driven by a not shown gear motor.
  • the compacting screw 24 is placed in the lower part of the box 3. Its feed opening 27 is connected to the separation compartment 6 by means of a transformation part 28 which makes it possible to bring all the waste coming from the separation compartment 6 into the feed opening 27.
  • the foremost of the compacting screw 24, preferably the face 29 of the adaptation piece 28, which is in the extension of the stop 12 has a backward inclination as shown in FIG. 2.
  • the rear end 31 of the enclosure 26 of the compacting screw 24 passes through the box 3.
  • This end 31 is surrounded, along the box 3 of an annular piece 32 for fixing the storage means which in this case is in the form of a plastic bag 33.
  • the latter is placed around the annular part 32 and fixed thereon by means of a link 34, for example a strap.
  • the operation of the mini-central 23 is identical to what was described previously in the first example until the introduction of the waste into the adaptation part 28.
  • waste falls through the feed opening 27 inside the compacting screw 28. Under the action of the worm 25 said waste is entrained and compacted up to the end 31 of the enclosure 26. They are introduced into the plastic bag 33 to be stored there.
  • the compacting screw used had in a specific embodiment nonlimiting, a diameter of 300 millimeters with a pitch of 300 millimeters, while the enclosure 26 had a diameter of 350 millimeters.
  • the rotation of the worm 25 was of the order of 30 revolutions / minute.
  • the reduction motor driving the worm 25 in rotation, was provided with an intensity detector making it possible, in the event of variation of said intensity, to trigger an audible alarm or visual. It is understood that this variation in intensity is caused by the accumulation of waste inside the compacting screw, when the storage bag 33 is full.
  • a contactor 35 has been mounted on the annular part 32 which is placed between said annular part 32 and the end 31 of the enclosure 26, outside of the casing 3.
  • This contactor 35 has a finger 36 which acts as a switch and which passes through a recess 37 provided in the annular part 32. In normal position the end of the finger 36 protrudes from the part 32.
  • a bar 38 is pivotally mounted by one of its edges 39 which is fixed to a pivot axis 40 located at the level of the annular part 32 near the box 3. This bar 38, in normal position, is applied to the finger 36 which protrudes from the annular part 32. In in this case, the contactor 35 controls the stopping of the fan 5 and of the compacting screw 24.
  • the box 3 was in the two aforementioned examples mounted on four casters, two of which were swivel to facilitate handling inside the premises. In the two examples, the dimensions of the mini-power plant were calculated so that it could pass through a traditional door.
  • the lower part of the mini-central 41 which is located below the axis BB 'differs from the part of the mini-central 23 located below the axis AA ', mainly in that the compacting screw 24 has been replaced by a baler, which makes it possible to obtain greater compaction of the waste, and in that the box 3 is not mounted on wheels, but rests on the ground by means of four vertical beams 42, of which only two of them are visible in FIG. 4. Since the baler is also well known, the description of this lower part of the mini central 42 will not be therefore not repeated.
  • the upper part 43 of the box 3 of the mini power plant 41 has the particularity of not comprising a filtration compartment, but of comprising a single separation compartment 6, which communicates with the air discharge opening 15, by by means of a helical fan 44, fixed inside the box 3, at the level of the discharge opening 15.
  • the box not having a filtration system integrated into the box 3, the grid 9 which is interposed between the separation compartment 6 and the discharge opening 15 is fixed, and is not pivotally mounted.
  • the opening 15 is equipped with a register ferrule 45, which allows a user of the mini-central 41, manually adjust the section of the discharge opening 15.
  • the fan 5 used had a flow rate of the order of 2,700 m3 / h for a pressure of 300 mm of water height and the fan 44, a flow rate of the order of 3 000 m3 / h for a pressure of 15 mm of water height.
