Definitions
- the invention relates to the adaptation of the running radius of carbon brushes to the commutator.
- a disadvantage of this known method is the damaging effect of the chemical substances mentioned on the surface of the commutator. This becomes rough and thus causes a premature failure of the carbon brush-commutator system. The exposure time of these chemical substances, which is difficult to control, is also unfavorable.
- Another disadvantage is the high degree of radio interference of machines treated in this way, in particular also after the running-in phase, which is a result of the increased tread surface roughness of the commutator. Furthermore, they are often abrasives that limit the service life of the roller or slide bearings used in motors.
- the aim of minimizing the manufacturing time is that each machine must be treated individually.
- the invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem of restricting the measure causing the increased wear of the carbon brushes exclusively to them and controlling them precisely in terms of time.
- the advantages that can be achieved with the invention are that the wear-increasing time of operation in the frequency spectrum mentioned can be precisely controlled, its application has no effect on the life of the commutator carbon brush system operating in normal operation after the running-in period, and no influence on the radio interference values in the intended use can be determined.
- Another decisive advantage is the ease of series production, since no measure is required on the product, but only once on the production equipment, ie on the circuit arrangement of the inlet section.
- Further important advantages of the invention are that intelligent run-in solutions and parameter acquisition in production are possible. It is also advantageous that the method according to the invention can also be combined with other known running-in aids. By reducing the running-in time and reducing the running-in performance, time and energy are saved in series production.
- a time-dependent temperature ⁇ is established on the commutator-carbon brush system.
- the thermal start-up time t ⁇ is defined as the time range up to 0.95 times ( ⁇ 3 ⁇ ) the steady-state temperature ⁇ E and the thermal steady-time t B as the time until the end of the running-in process based on the briefly maximum permissible system temperature.
- the run-in time t E extends until 70-100% of the brush running surface contact the commutator. This guide value is set by the manufacturer on a machine-specific basis.
- t E , t ⁇ , t B depend on the type of commutator machine and can be defined for the currents, voltages and frequencies with which it is operated.
- the wear v of the carbon brushes depends both on the temperature ⁇ (FIG. 2a) and on the frequency f (FIG. 2b), and the dependencies shown in FIG. 2c exist between the frequency f and the temperature ⁇ .
- the dependence of the wear on the frequency results from a frequency dependency of the commutation, so that even with harmonic operation and undervoltage, a higher wear than with nominal operation can be achieved.
- Fig. 3 shows the resulting run-in time t E (broken lines) during operation with a sinusoidal waveform of frequency 50 Hz, in which the steady-state temperature ⁇ E is reached in normal operation on the commutator-carbon brush system.
- the continuous lines of the temperature ⁇ correspond to the shortened running-in time t according to the invention ' E .
- the quantitative proportions and the chronological order of the frequencies, as well as the level of the operating voltages, are to be determined specifically for the engine and can be easily implemented with a generator, an amplifier and a time or temperature control.
- the maximum permissible steady-state temperature ⁇ max should be approached as close as possible, with which the machine can be operated without damage for a defined period of time. However, this steady-state temperature ⁇ max should not be exceeded.

Abstract
Description
- Fig. 1
- ein Zeit-Temperaturdiagramm der Einlaufphase,
- Fig. 2a-c
- Diagramme der Abhängigkeiten zwischen Verschleiß, Frequenz und Temperatur
