Definitions
- the invention relates to a diffuser for installation in lines through which fluids flow, in particular in front of heat exchangers, silencers, admixing devices and the like, preferably for power plants, with installation elements which produce turbulence.
- Diffusers intended for installation in lines through which fluids flow are known, for example from US Pat. No. 4,971,768.
- Such diffusers have the purpose of reducing the flow rate of gases or liquids while at the same time recovering pressure. They are used in front of heat exchangers, silencers, reactors, admixing systems, burners, rectifiers, humidifiers and line branches, especially in power plant construction, ventilation technology and plant construction.
- the pressure recovery associated with the speed reduction depends very much on the pressure losses occurring in the diffuser, so that the structural design of the diffusers is of particular importance.
- the built-in elements consist of a corrugated guide surface arranged in front of the diffuser inlet, by means of which swirl currents which cause swirls are to be generated.
- guide surfaces not only cause a relatively high pressure loss, but also have only a slight swirling effect, so that in practice the effects and advantages described in the publication do not occur.
- the invention has for its object to provide a diffuser of the type described above, which avoids separation of the flow from the diffuser wall and ensures a uniform spread of the flow on the expanding flow cross-section with little effort and low pressure losses.
- the solution to this problem by the invention is characterized in that at least one installation surface, which is at an acute angle to the main flow direction and generates a leading edge vortex system, is arranged as the installation element in the region of the diverging flow section of the diffuser.
- a plurality of installation elements can be arranged next to and / or one behind the other in the divergent flow section of the diffuser.
- each installation surface can have a symmetrical edge profile with a plane of symmetry running in the main flow direction and can be designed with a circular, elliptical, oval, parabolic, diamond-shaped or triangular basic shape.
- the invention proposes to profile the installation area in cross section, to form a V-shape and / or to provide it with an angled edge, as a result of which the vortex system is reinforced and the stability of the installation area is increased.
- the invention provides the possibility of ensuring that the flow is in good contact with the diffuser wall, even in the case of diffusers with strongly diverging flow sections, and this by means of installation elements requiring only little effort.
- the leading edge vortex systems produced by these result in only slight flow losses, so that despite the considerable improvement in the diffuser effect, an increase in efficiency is achieved at the same time.
- the diffusers shown in FIGS. 1 to 5 each comprise an inflow channel 1, which is followed by a diverging flow section 2 which merges into an outflow channel 3. While in the embodiments according to FIGS. 1 and 2 and 4 and 5 the central axis of the outflow channel 3 is in extension of the central axis of the inflow channel 1, so that there is a symmetrical diverging flow section 2, the embodiment according to FIG. 3 shows an offset of the two central axes of the inflow channel 1 and outflow channel 3, so that an asymmetrical divergent flow section 2 results.
- an oval or circular installation surface 4 is arranged in the diverging flow section 2, which is set at an acute angle to the main flow direction, so that there is a stationary vortex wake at each of its symmetrical leading edges.
- the vortices shown in the illustration form a so-called leading edge vortex system which spreads transversely to the main flow direction and results in low-loss spreading of the flow, so that it bears against the wall of the diffuser even in the case of a strongly divergent flow section 2. In this way, the flow is distributed evenly and with little loss over the flow cross-section and, despite the unavoidable flow losses due to the installation of the installation surface 4, results in a pressure recovery which at least compensates for the flow losses.
- two installation surfaces 4 are arranged in the diverging flow section 2, which are arranged symmetrically to the longitudinal center axis of the diffuser and each produce stationary leading edge vortex systems.
- an installation surface 4 is arranged in the extension of the flow in the inflow channel 1 and a further installation surface 4 is arranged in the region of the diverging wall of the diverging flow section 2.
- the position and size of the two installation surfaces 4 are such on the asymmetrical
- the course of the flow section 2 of the diffuser is coordinated so that even with this special embodiment of the diffuser, good flow contact is achieved with the diffuser walls which widen in cross section.
- each installation surface 4 is arranged side by side and two installation surfaces 4 one behind the other in the diverging flow section 2, the installation surfaces 4 in the flow direction being designed with a circular or elliptical basic shape and the installation surfaces 4 behind them with a triangular basic shape.
- each installation surface produces a stationary leading edge vortex system with the properties and advantages described above.
- the fifth embodiment according to FIG. 5 finally shows the arrangement of four installation surfaces 4 of oval or circular basic shape in the entry area of the diverging flow section 2, whereby as a special feature this entry area of the diverging flow section 2 is divided into four channel sections by partition walls 5. Mutual influences of the leading edge vortex systems generated in each case by an installation surface 4 in the inlet region of the diverging flow section 2 are excluded by the partition walls 5.
- FIG. 7 to 10 show four exemplary embodiments for the configuration of the installation area 4.
- the installation area 4 shown in FIG. 4 has a triangular basic shape; 8 is diamond-shaped. 9 and 10 show an elliptical or a circular configuration of the installation surface 4.
Description
- Fig. 1
- Fig. 2
- Fig. 3
- Fig. 4
- Fig. 5
- Fig. 6
- Fig. 7
- Fig. 8
- ein zweites Ausführungsbeispiel einer rautenförmigen Einbaufläche,
- Fig. 9
