Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a burglar-resistant door which includes a frame to be integrated into a opening and a leaf hinged on the side of a first edge on the door frame and fitted with a second edge on the side, opposite the first edge, a locking device.
  • the locking device most often a lock fitted with a bolt which engages in a keeper fixed to the frame, is generally a weak point in terms of resistance of the door to a physical attack. Indeed, if we manage to apply to leaf, especially at the bolt, a significant effort, which has a component perpendicular to the leaf and oriented towards the opening of the door, we manage to break the bolt and / or to force the strike.
  • a simple instrument, conventionally used to making such an effort is a lever, for example a crowbar or a sturdy screwdriver.
  • This lever is introduced in a joint necessarily remaining between the leaf and the door frame when the door is in the closed position. We then gradually increases the thickness of this joint, up to create a fulcrum inside the joint sufficient for the tip of the lever.
  • a significant effort on the leaf In an operation ultimate we exercise finally, using the lever in support of inside the joint, a significant effort on the leaf. The component perpendicular to the leaf of this effort then break the bolt.
  • a known and obvious solution to increase the resistance to such a break-in to the lever is further increase the rigidity of the jamb and leaf and to use a locking device with very high mechanical resistance. It is however obvious that such a solution is not only expensive, but also has the disadvantage of making the heavier leaf.
  • a burglar-resistant door can be designed to resist break-in either from the "hinge side", or from the “side opposite the hinges ".
  • hinge side we mean the side of the door where you can see the hinges, while by “face opposite the hinges” means the side of the door where you can't see the hinges.
  • the problem underlying the present invention is to further reduce the possibilities of attacking with success a door using a lever introduced, at the level of the locking device, between the jamb and the leaf.
  • this problem finds on the one hand its solution in a burglar-proof door designed for resist break-in from the hinge side, which is characterized in that said second song of the leaf is extended laterally, at least at the level of the locking device, by a metal strip which protrudes from the leaf so as to penetrate, when closing the door, in a slot corresponding which is arranged in the thickness of the jamb in the extension of the defined joint, in closed position of the door, between said second edge of the leaf and doorframe.
  • this problem finds on the other hand its solution in a burglar-proof door designed for resist break-in from the opposite side hinges, which is characterized in that the jamb is bordered laterally on the side fitted with the locking, at least at the level of the locking, by a flat metal strip which protrudes in protruding so as to penetrate, when closing the door, in a corresponding slot of the leaf which is arranged in the thickness of the leaf along said second leaf song.
  • the main advantage of the present invention is, that at the locking device, it is hardly possible to create, by forcing the joint between the leaf and doorframe at this level, a fulcrum for a lever. Indeed, the slot and the metal strip cooperate to lock the leaf in the doorframe. Of more, even if we manage to get into the slot with a lever, we can't find a support to exercise perpendicularly on the leaf a significant effort. In effect, the protruding metal strip is not rigid enough to constitute a fulcrum for a lever.
  • this invention solves the problem of burglary protection of doors from the "hinge side".
  • the present invention is therefore advantageously applicable to all doors which must, for reasons for evacuation, open to the outside of a room.
  • the proposed solution is preferably applied to substantially the entire length of said second side provided with the locking device. But in some applications it may be sufficient to limit the solution proposed to the segment (s) of said neighboring second side the locking device (s). This is especially the case when the locking device itself has a high intrinsic mechanical resistance. With a device of normal mechanical resistance locking, we have the more often interest in applying the solution proposed by the invention over the entire length of the side provided with the locking device.
  • the two solutions proposed at the same time eliminate the possibility of removing the two jambs relative to each other; by example using a cylinder mounted between the two amounts.
  • the leaf forms a sort of staple which connects the two uprights of the frame and thus increases the rigidity of the latter in closed position of the door.
  • the slot according to the invention can for example be delimited laterally by two parallel surfaces, i.e. define a channel section in "U".
  • said slot advantageously has a passage section closely followed, in the direction of penetration of the element in protrusion, unilateral enlargement.
  • a door burglar resistant designed to withstand burglary from the hinge side this is a widening unilateral towards the leaf.
  • a burglar-proof door designed to resist break-in from on the side opposite the hinges it is a unilateral widening in the direction of the jamb. In both cases a significant push on the end of the protruding metal strip deforms the latter, so that it enters the widening of the slot and clings to it.
  • the slot is advantageously defined by an element reported on the jamb. This is for example a "U" shaped profile, a first branch of which is provided with a rim oriented towards the second branch, so as to define for the protruding element a narrow passage section between the edge of the first branch and the second plugged. It is of course also possible to integrate, by example of machining or forming, the slot directly in the jamb, respectively in the leaf.
  • the present invention could naturally also be applied to a window, the chassis must have a high resistance to break-in using a lever. Nor is it excluded from applying it to a door of a chest.
  • Figure 1 shows a partial cross section at through an anti-intrusion door according to the invention, designed to be exposed to break-in from the face hinges, i.e. in the direction of arrow 12.
  • This door 10 includes a frame or a frame 14 and a door leaf or leaf 16.
  • the jamb 14 is firmly anchored in a opening of a wall, for example a bay in a wall.
  • a wall for example a bay in a wall.
  • To increase its resistance to burglary frame is advantageously filled with ceramic concrete 18.
  • the leaf generally comprises a frame 20, supporting a filling 22, as well as sheets of cover 24 and 26 on each side of the leaf 16. So known, the leaf is hinged on one side on the frame 14 and provided on the opposite side with a locking device.
  • FIG. 1 we see the side of leaf 16 which is fitted with the locking device (not shown). It's about usually one or more locks, provided each of a bolt throwing and / or dormant, which engages in a keeper integral with the jamb 14. This device lock keeps door 10 closed and resists more or less significant tensile force exerted on the leaf 16 in the direction of door 10 opening.
  • the part of leaf 16, in which are housed the the locks, is advantageously protected, on the exposed side break-in, preferably over the entire height of the door, by a protective strip 28 attached to the leaf 16 proper.
  • a protective strip 28 attached to the leaf 16 proper.
  • This is for example a welded metal structure on leaf 16 and provided with preferably a ceramic filling 30 or a equivalent filling, which has good resistance to a cutting tool, such as a drill or a chainsaw.
  • This strip laterally projects the leaf 16 properly said, so as to cover a first joint 32 between the frame 14 and leaf 16.
  • With frame 14 the strip 28 itself forms a second seal 34.
  • the strip 28 is bordered laterally on all its length by a metal strip 35 which forms a rim 36 protruding from the side of the jamb 14. It will note that the rim 36 is preferably perpendicular to the leaf mid-plane 16.
  • the metal strip 35 could of course also be directly attached to the edge of the leaf 16 or be formed by a sheet of
  • the jamb 14 is provided with a slot 38, which is arranged on the frame 14, in the extension of the joint 34, so that the rim 36 can enter there during the door 10 closes.
  • the gasket 34 a up to the entrance of slot 38, a depth which is about four times its width.
  • the slot 38 is for example delimited laterally by two parallel surfaces 40 and 42, as shown on the Figure 1A.
  • the width of the slot is preferably less than the penetration depth of the strip metallic 35 therein.
  • the slot 38 has a section such that shown in Figure 1, i.e. it has a narrow passage section 44 as an entry section for edge 36, followed by unilateral widening 43 in the direction of leaf 16.
  • the width of this input section is preferably less than the penetration depth of the metal strip 35 into this one.
  • the slot 38 is for example delimited on the side of the leaf 16 by a metal sheet 46, including a rim 48, oriented towards the surface 49 which delimits the slot 38 on the opposite side defines said section of minimum passage 44.
  • the cross section of the sheet 46 provided with its rim 48 has the shape of a hook.
  • Slot 38 can be produced (e.g. machined or formed) directly in the frame 14 or be made using a part reported. In Figure 1 it is for example a "U" shaped profile, one of the two branches of which defines the ledge 48, which is fixed on the jamb 14. It is important to point out that the element that defines the slot 38 on the side of the leaf 16 is not accessible from the exposed door side breaking and entering.
  • Figure 2 shows a section through a door burglar-proof 110 according to the invention, designed to be exposed to break-in from the face opposite hinges, i.e. in the direction of arrow 112. It includes a frame or sleeping frame 114 and a sheet door or leaf 116.
  • a slot 138 oriented towards the frame 114 extends in the leaf 116 along the edge provided with the device for locking. As in the case of Figure 1A, this slot 138 can be limited laterally by two surfaces parallels 140, 142, as shown in Figure 2A. Of preferably the slot 138 will however have a section such as shown in Figure 2, i.e. it has a narrow passage section 144 as a section entry, followed by unilateral enlargement 143 in leaf 116 direction. In Figure 2 the slot 138 is for example delimited on the side of the frame 114 by a sheet metal 146 including a flange 148, which is oriented towards the surface 149 delimiting the slot 138 on the opposite side, defines said minimum passage section 144.
  • This slot 138 can be carried out directly in the leaf 136 or be performed in an insert.
  • Figure 2 there it is for example a "U" profile, one of the two branches defines edge 48. This "U" profile is integrated in leaf 116. It will be noted that the branch which defines the edge 48 is not accessible from the side of the door 110 exposed to break-in.
  • the frame 114 is bordered laterally by a strip flat metallic 138 which protrudes so as to be received in slot 138 when the door is closed 110.
  • a strip flat metallic 138 which protrudes so as to be received in slot 138 when the door is closed 110.
  • it is an edge of the doorframe which is perpendicular to the plane of door 110. It is important to point out that on the side exposed to break-in the doorframe 114 and the flange 136 have a flat surface 152 without discontinuities, which could possibly serve as fulcrum to push with a lever on the leaf 116.
  • the flange 136 of the frame 114 effectively prevents the introduction of the point of a lever into the joint 134 between leaf 116 and jamb 114. If it were not not the case we could actually exercise using a lever a significant pressure on the leaf 116 in the opening direction of door 110. However, such pressing door 110 would quickly jeopardize its resistance to break-in, because it is essentially the locking device, most often the bolt of a lock, which must resume this effort perpendicular to the leaf 116. It is indeed well known that the lock is, in the majority of cases, the element presenting the lowest mechanical resistance of the frame system 114 / leaf 116.
  • leaf 116 comes quickly abut with its surface 142, respectively the ledge 148 against ledge 136 of the frame 114. It it follows that such solicitation should no longer be taken up entirely by the hinges of the leaf 116.
