Description

The invention relates to a packaging device according to the preamble of claim 1.

In packaging devices of the type mentioned, the like in various forms for packaging pharmaceuticals, cosmetics or food. are used, the bottom film is provided with the cup-like depressions, which are covered with a flat top film after introducing the material to be packaged. The connection between the top film and the bottom film is made using a heat seal adhesive. In the case of a frequently used packaging device, a PVC film is used as the bottom film, in which the cup-shaped depressions are generated thermally with the aid of compressed air or suction air, with pre-deformation possibly also being carried out by means of stamping. An aluminum foil is often used as the top foil, which is attached to the bottom foil between the cup-shaped depressions by means of a heat seal adhesive. Such packaging devices are known in particular as so-called push-through packs, in which pressure is applied to the relative soft depressions, the packaged item can be pushed through the then opening top film. Similar packaging devices are also used as tear-open packs, in which the upper film is provided with a grip tab which is not connected to the lower film and from which the upper film can be removed.

If the material to be packaged or the items to be packaged must be packed absolutely tight, for example because they contain a volatile substance such as alcohol or the like. contain, it is also known to produce the lower film from several layers, which is then also covered with an aluminum film as the upper film. The multilayer film usually contains aluminum as the carrier material. The additional layers, in particular plastic layers made of PVC or polyamide, are necessary because when the cup-shaped depressions are produced, which are formed by pressing in stamps, the aluminum loses its tightness and is no longer closed without pores. Even with such multilayer films with the carrier material aluminum there are limits to the deformation by means of stamping, since there is a risk that the aluminum will tear. If relatively large tablets and in particular thick tablets are to be packaged, it is necessary to create a cup-shaped depression, the base of which is considerably larger than the projection of the tablet. This makes it possible to distribute the deformation over relatively large wall areas, so that the risk of the aluminum tearing can be controlled. The number of cup-shaped depressions which can be accommodated on a surface of a predetermined size of the lower film is thus limited.

A packaging device comprising an upper film and a lower film is also known (WO-A-84/01556), of which at least one is a laminate of a tear-resistant film, for example a polyester film, and a tearable film, for example an aluminum film. The top film and the bottom film are connected by means of heat seals, which form a large number of cavity-forming regions, each of which is a tablet or the like. record, tape. In the area of the receiving compartments, both the top film and the bottom film are deformed and complement each other to form a receiving compartment.

The invention has for its object to provide a packaging device according to the preamble of claim 1, which enables better use of the base of the bottom film.

Diese Aufgabe wird durch den Patentanspruch 1 gelöst.This object is solved by claim 1.

The configuration according to the invention ensures that the depth of a cup-like depression can also be significantly reduced if large or thick tablets can be accommodated, since the receiving compartment is composed of two such cup-like depressions. This makes it possible to arrange the compartments much closer together so that there is a material saving for the lower film and the upper film. This material saving is of the order of 40% to 60%. In addition, there is the advantage that the correspondingly smaller packaging devices can also be packed more densely in the subsequent packaging units, so that there are smaller boxes and small outer cartons. This can significantly reduce the material consumption. Since the depth of the depressions and thus the strength of the deformation can be significantly reduced when producing the depressions, it is also possible under certain circumstances to use foils made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy that do not require any support foils. This has the further advantage that the packaging device consists of only one material and is therefore relatively easy to recycle.

Sie werden später nach dem Verpacken auf die Größe der in Fig. 1 dargestellten Abgabeeinheit zurechtgeschnitten.1 shows a delivery unit of a packaging device (10) which has, for example, ten receiving compartments (11) for one tablet (12) each. The packaging device (10) is formed from an upper film (13) and a lower film (14), which are presented to a packaging machine in the form of rolls on which these films are wound. The upper film (13) unwound from the rolls and the lower film (14) pass through web-like forming stations in which both the upper film (13) and the lower film (14) are provided with cup-shaped depressions (15, 16), which are later combined when The upper film (13) and lower film (14) each form a receiving compartment (11). The bottom film (14) runs essentially horizontally through a filling device in which the cup-shaped depressions (16) are filled with the tablets (12). The upper film (13) fed from above is then placed over the lower film (14) in such a way that the depressions (15, 16) are aligned with one another. The top film (13) and the bottom film (14) are provided with a heat seal lacquer in the area outside the depressions (15, 16). After the joining, the top film (13) and bottom film (14) are connected to one another in a corresponding station by means of the heat-sealing lacquer. The web-fed top film (13) and bottom film (14) are several times the width of the delivery unit shown in FIG. 1. They are cut to size later after packaging to the size of the delivery unit shown in FIG. 1.

The lower film (14) and the upper film (13) are each provided with a supporting film aluminum films which have a thickness of about 50 microns to 60 microns. In one embodiment, two aluminum foils are provided, between which a plastic support foil, for example PVC, is arranged. As already mentioned, are both in the bottom film (14) as well as in the upper film (13) cup-like depressions (15, 16), which are pressed in in particular by stamping in the forming station. Since both the lower film (14) and the upper film (13) are provided with these cup-like depressions (15, 16), relatively large tablets (12) can be accommodated in the receiving compartments (11) without one of the cup-like depressions (15 , 16) must have a depth which corresponds to the thickness of the tablet (12). Since the depth of the cup-like depressions (15, 16) is therefore less, the cup-like depressions (15, 16) can also be reduced in their base area without the risk of cracks occurring in the aluminum foils.

In the exemplary embodiment shown, the receiving compartments (11) serve to hold a tablet which has a substantially cylindrical shape and the ends of which are hemispherical. The cup-like depressions (15, 16) accordingly have an oval base. In their central region, as shown in FIG. 3, they are roughly semi-cylindrical, each of which is followed by a part of a spherically shaped end region. Since the base area required for the production of the cup-like depressions (15, 16) is relatively small, the receiving compartments (11) can be moved closer together than before. As shown in FIG. 1, the cup-like depressions (15, 16) have a mutual distance between their long sides, which corresponds to approximately half their width. Between the ends of the cup-like depressions (15, 16) is left approximately the same distance, which corresponds to about a third of the cup-shaped depressions in the illustrated embodiment.

In the non-deformed areas between the receiving compartments (11) rows of perforations (17, 18) are provided, along which the packaging device (10) can be separated into individual packs.

As can be seen from FIG. 1, a heat seal lacquer (19) is applied between the lower film (14) and the upper film (13) in the non-deformed area. This heat seal lacquer (19) is applied in such a way that a hand strip (20, 21) remains next to a row of receiving compartments (11) and is free of heat seal lacquer (19). The bottom film (14) and the top film (13) can thus be easily separated from one another in the region of this edge strip (20), after which they can be torn open in the region of the heat-sealing lacquer (19) (peeling).

In the exemplary embodiment it is provided that the cup-shaped depressions (15) of the upper film (13) are not identical to the cup-shaped depressions (16) of the lower film (14). As can be seen from FIGS. 2 and 3, the cup-shaped depressions (16) of the lower film (14) are deeper. The cup-shaped depressions (15) of the upper film (13) have a central, flattened, flat area. This flat area allows the top film (13) to be printed there. However, if tablets (12) with a larger diameter are to be packaged, the depressions (15) of the upper film (13) can also have the maximum depth, which corresponds to approximately half their greatest width.

The principle explained with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3 can of course also be realized if round or spherical tablets or the like. should be packed. In this case, the cup-shaped depressions (15, 16) of the upper film (13) and the lower film (14) are given a corresponding base area.

Since the receiving compartments (11) can be moved closer together than before, the material used for the upper film (13) and the lower film (14) is significantly lower. The material savings are between 40% and 60%. In addition, there is the advantage that the delivery units of the packaging device, as shown in Fig. 1, can be packed in smaller boxes.

These smaller boxes can then be packed in smaller boxes accordingly. This also results in a clear saving in packaging material for the further packaging of the packaging device.

In a modified embodiment, the top film (13) and the bottom film (14) are also connected to one another in the region of the edge strips (20) with the heat seal lacquer. In order to be able to carry out a separation in this case, a region (22) free of heat-sealing lacquer is provided in the central region along the row of perforations (18), which is shown in dash-dot lines in FIG. 1. In order to be able to remove a tablet (12) in this case, a single pack must be exposed by separating the associated rows of perforations (17, 18). The edge area (22) which is not connected with a heat-sealing lacquer is then also exposed, so that the individual pack can then be opened.
