Definitions

  • the invention relates to a cross-country ski, with a ski shovel formed at the front end in the direction of travel, which, starting from the essentially flat tread area of the ski, is continuously curved upwards and decreases in width and which, at least in some areas, has a curvature running transversely to the direction of travel.
  • the simply curved design of the cross-country ski shovel also has the disadvantage that when the driving style is not concentrated, in particular on descents, there is a slight possibility of blending and thus of the risk of falling.
  • the present invention is therefore based on the object of reducing the shear effect of the cross-country ski shovel, thereby increasing the possible speed of a runner with the same amount of force and reducing the risk of blending and thus of a fall.
  • the curvature on both side edges of the ski shovel forms a lateral sliding surface which extends to the upper cover surface and exceeds the other ski thickness in the shovel area, the height of which in the longitudinal central region of the ski shovel corresponds at least approximately to the shovel width there and from there to the front and decreases behind continuously.
  • Such a double curvature of the tread in the area of the blade means that almost all tangential planes placed at the contact points of the tread enclose an angle unequal to 90 ° with an idealized vertical side wall.
  • Such a physical design of the cross-country ski shovel can be achieved either by attaching a suitable molded part, as described above, to a previously customary cross-country ski in a suitable manner, either permanently or removably, or by a suitable material thickness in the shovel area during the manufacture of the cross-country ski Forming is made possible.
  • Skis are known from FR-A-2 554 004 or also from DE-OS 25 56 650, which are not explicitly referred to or recognizable as cross-country skis; on the other hand, however, the disclosure of these writings is not restricted to alpine skiing or the like. Even with these skis, a curvature extending transversely to the direction of travel is provided on the underside of the ski shovel, which, however, is of a completely different type from the design and dimensioning as well as the purpose than the curvature in the subject of the present invention.
  • the shear resistance that occurs on the tread of a cross-country ski shovel in the event of contact with the side wall of the cross-country track is converted into a lower sliding resistance by the double curvature of the tread.
  • the reduced shearing effect also means that less snow is sheared into the track itself by the ski from the side wall of the track, which improves the grip of the cross-country ski at the moment of pushing off.
  • the physical design of the cross-country ski shovel body in the form described allows the track wall and the running surface of the shovel body to touch tangentially, an improved ski guidance in the track and thus contributes significantly to reducing the risk of falling.
  • Figure 1 shows that when the cross-country ski shovel is one of the prior art Technology corresponding to conventional cross-country skis touches the side wall of the cross-country track, the tangential plane in the points of contact of the running surface of the ski shovel includes an angle of approximately 90 ° with the side wall plane of the track.
  • the direction of travel, ie the thrust of the rotor (P1) and the pressure resistance of the track (P2) lie with the point of contact (L) and the force (R) resulting from pressure and back pressure in the plan on a straight line.
  • the figure also shows that the ski is lifted off track in the direction of travel, which ultimately leads to blending.
  • Figure 2 shows that the thrust of the runner (P1) with the resistance of the track wall (P2) at the point of contact (L) on the now double-curved blade body form a resulting force (R) which pushes the ski into the track.
  • the tangential plane at the point of contact forms an angle not equal to 90 ° with the track wall.
  • FIG. 3 shows the physical design of the cross-country ski shovel with a double curved tread when the shovel body is already produced in one piece with the ski during the production process of the ski.
  • FIG. 4 shows a cross-country ski shovel of a conventional cross-country ski, onto which the double-curved shovel body is subsequently glued or attached in an otherwise permanent form.
  • the running surface of the double-curved blade body must be adapted accordingly by grinding if necessary.

Abstract
