Abstract

Description

The invention relates to a reclosable folded cardboard packaging for dry products, comprising front and rear panels and side panels between said front and rear panels and flaps forming the bottom and top of said packaging and having a reclosable closure of substantially prismatic shape. comprising a hinge line on the top of said packaging and cutting lines on the front and rear panels leading to said hinge and on one of the side panels having a cutting line.

Resealable packaging is already known for packaging dry products, such as spaghetti, such as that which is the subject of US patent 5,067,615. The packaging which is the subject of this patent is well reclosable, but it requires cutting in the form of a very complicated blank which requires several stages for folding and gluing, in particular a rotation of the blank. This configuration requires the use of specific packaging forming machines.

The object of the present invention is to develop a reclosable packaging for the packaging of dry products, requiring a fairly simple cutting and allowing forming and bonding on standard machines.

The invention relates to a folded cardboard packaging characterized in that the closure comprises, under the cutting line of the abovementioned side panel and integral with it, a pre-cut gripping tab comprising a locking tab intended to engage in a formed slot in a layer of cardboard arranged on said side panel under said gripping tab.

The packaging according to the invention is normally made of normal or recycled quality cardboard, simple or micro-corrugated. It is intended either to put directly dry products such as pasta, pet food, cereals, cookies, or to put in a flexible inner bag containing milk flours, cocoa powders. The advantage of this packaging in the latter case is that it allows direct dosing of the powder without requiring the consumer to use a spoon.

On the other hand, this packaging is very practical for the consumer, as will be seen below with reference to the figures.

The cutting lines of the front and rear panels are longer near the hinge line and the side panel than in the middle of said panels. The reason is that we want to minimize during the transport and storage of these packages the risks of opening said package. The gripping tab located on the side panel normally has a width substantially half that of the width of said side panel.

The locking tab has the shape of a semicircle, because this shape allows a good reclosure of the packaging. However, another form of the locking tab is also possible.

The slot for receiving the locking tab is rectangular. To facilitate the grip of the gripping tab, it is provided under said tongue, on the side panel, a non-critical but preferably semi-circular recess.

To ensure that the closure remains in the open position when using the packaging, a semi-circular cutout is provided on the hinge line. This cut makes it possible to lean on the flap located directly below and thus keeps the packaging well open.

The closure can have an opening angle alpha (see fig. 1) of between 0 and 90 °, preferably between 40 and 50 °.

For a packaging with flexible inner bag, an angle close to 45 ° can be provided. On the other hand, for packaging without an inner bag, it is preferable to provide a smaller angle, since this angle conditions the level of filling of said packaging.

In the figures, the cutouts are shown in continuous lines, the pre-cuts are in continuous line with dots representing the areas not cut out, and the fold lines in continuous lines followed by two dotted lines. The bonding areas are represented by hatching.

The blank (1) of the packaging according to the invention comprises front (2) and rear (3) panels, side panels (4,5) and flaps (6,7,8,14) forming the top and flaps (9,10,11,15) forming the bottom of said packaging. The panel (12) is provided during folding to be located under the panel (5). We glue the panels (5) and (12) along the gluing zone (13), we fold the flaps (6,14,7 and 8) that we glue along the zone (16) and the flaps (9,15,10,11) which is glued along the area (17), after having brought the content there.

The packaging (18) is then obtained according to FIG. 2. This package comprises a closure (19) of substantially prismatic shape comprising a hinge line (20) and pre-cut lines (21, 22) terminating on a pre-cut line (23) of the side panel (5). Under this pre-cut line is a gripping tab (24) precut along a line (30) comprising a locking tab (25) provided to engage in the slot (26) of the panel (12) located below. Under the gripping tab (24) is a recess (27) facilitating the grip of said tab. On the hinge (20) of the upper flap (8), a semi-circular cutout (28) is provided which presses in the open position against the other flap (7). On this latter flap, a cutout (29) is provided.

The opening of the packaging (18) is done as follows: the user presses on the panels (2,3) at the level of the precut lines (21,22) to tear them. Then, he pulls on the grip tab (24) to tear it off according to the precut lines (30,23). He can then lift the closure (19) into the position according to FIG. 3. Due to the cutout (29) on the flap (7), the semi-circular cutout (28) can press against said flap (7) so as to ensure better opening of the packaging. The user can then pour the contents of the package (18). To close (fig. 4), push the closure (19) down and engage the locking tab (25) in the slot (26). There is thus according to the invention a resealable packaging ensuring a good seal of the product contained therein and easy to use.

Claims (6)

Folded cardboard packaging, comprising front and rear panels and side panels between said front and rear panels and flaps forming the bottom and top of said packaging and having a resealable closure of substantially prismatic shape comprising a hinge line on the top of said packaging and precut lines on the front and rear panels terminating on said hinge line and on one of the side panels having a cutting line, the closure comprising under the cutting line of the aforementioned side panel and integral therewith a tongue pre-cut gripping device comprising a locking tab intended to engage in a slot formed in a layer of cardboard disposed on said side panel under said gripping tab. Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that the pre-cut lines of the front and rear panels are longer near the hinge line and the side panel. Packaging according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the width of the gripping tab corresponds to substantially half the width of the side panel. Packaging according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the locking tab has the shape of a semicircle. Packaging according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the side panel has under the gripping tab a recess to facilitate the taking of said tab. Packaging according to any one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the hinge line comprises a cut along a semi-circular line.
