Abstract

A container such as a carton has a spout which may be opened eg by means of a cord. After opening, the spout may be retained in a reclosed condition by interengaging plug and socket means.

Description

FEDORAK SPOUT TWO AND CONTAINER This is a spout that can be applied to a container where the remaining contents may be, though not always as the contents may be exhausted straight after or soon after opening, needed to be stored because the contents of the container have not been exhausted.
The design essentially comprises the fine detail but the container, that may be made of any materail and be of any size or shape , is covered in this application as well. The design may be on a box, carton , envelope , or tin / can or any container. In this application , other diagramatic representations are also provided, the design in this example is on a milk carton made of card.
On either side of the crest of the rectangle is a symmetrical spout portion , V - shaped in this example ( the spout portion is shaped with side gussets and creases ). The spout portion is , in this example made of double thickness card , the interior covered with foil for hygeine , for strength. A spherical tip lies both the apex and bottom of the spout, this to is symmertrical at the apex and bottom.
The symmetrical axes can be labelled A A " and " B ". Axis " A " is above the crest and consists of one of the symmetrical spout portions. At the apex of " A " is " C " and " D ",also in this example made of card. " C " is a " socket " ( the female portion of a " plug " ) of three hollow circumferences.
D D " consists of the " male " portion of the " plug and consists of three solid cicumferences. " C " plugs onto " D ". The function of this will be explained later in the description. Axis " A " s perimeter consists of a scored line, the seal ( in this example ) is maintained by a card cord partially wrapped in cellophane. Tags may or may not be at the ends. When the cord is removed the perforations are broken and an opening produced.
Axis " A " is symmetrical with Axis " B " so it can fold inward or outward with Axis B B ". The joining of the two axes produces a spout that allows the contents to be accessed. When the contents have been accessed Axis " A " can be folded back into its original position and a partial seal is produced by the action of folding back axis " A " and the plug " C " and n D ". The contents can be accessed by " unplugging " C " and " D " and repeating the symmetrical folding process.
