Definitions

  • the invention relates to a flat cushion body, in particular a mattress, with an elastic core made of foam, which comprises a plurality of spring bodies connected to one another on the underside by a continuous base layer in at least one layer, each individual spring body extending vertically oriented shaped cavities continuously extending over its height has, on which or each layer of spring bodies a support plate is placed on the upper side, which in turn is provided with vertically oriented shaped cavities extending continuously over its height, and the cavities of the individual spring bodies form continuous vertical air exchange channels with the cavities of the or each support plate.
  • foam mattresses in various designs have been known for many years, which also have an innerspring core, but which does not contain metal spring elements, which are nowadays often for health reasons are rejected, but foam in various forms, for example latex foam or polyurethane foam, used to form spring bodies or generally to bring about the desired spring properties of a mattress.
  • US-A-3209380 describes a flat cushion body according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the spring bodies are not designed to be displaceable relative to one another, as is necessary to achieve a point elasticity of the cushion body.
  • the proportion of voids, based on the upholstery surface is not sufficient to ensure good ventilation of the upholstery body.
  • EP-A0236668 describes a flat cushion body with a cushion core comprising at least one foam sheet, the foam sheet being arranged at a distance from one another, it being straight and complete, i.e. is provided from the top to bottom crossing cutting cuts, which are arranged at right angles to each other and are perpendicular to the foam sheet. These die cuts do not form any voids in the upholstery material.
  • DE-A-2930750 describes a mattress made of foam with channels that are laterally open and perpendicular to the direction of loading, the mattress consisting of at least two superimposed partial mattresses, each of which has channels that are open at the bottom on the underside have groove-shaped recesses and are arranged in relation to one another such that the groove webs of the top and bottom mattresses lie exactly one above the other.
  • the partial mattresses can have vertical continuous ventilation holes, each of which ends in the groove-shaped recesses, and are provided with a cover plate made of highly elastic foam.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a flat cushion body made of foam of the type mentioned, which has improved ventilation properties and has increased point elasticity.
  • the spring bodies are at least partially displaceable relative to one another in the direction of loading and the cavities occupy approximately 10 to 25% of the cushion surface.
  • the upholstered body according to the invention Due to the continuous vertical, i.e. not interrupted by intermediate or overlay air exchange channels within the framework of the appropriately occupying about 10 to 25% of the upholstery area, formed by material recesses and / or recesses, the upholstered body according to the invention has very good ventilation properties, the undesirable formation of condensation of the upholstered body in use, in particular as a mattress , exclude with certainty.
  • the cavities formed in the or each platen according to the invention not only contribute to the formation of the vertically continuous air exchange channels, but also impart a high degree of stretchability in the manner of a network, so that the point-elastic properties of the upholstery body in use by selective compression a spring body or a few spring bodies come into full effect when the load is applied locally to the cushion body and are not adversely affected by essentially inflexible planar intermediate or supports.
  • the support plates provided according to the invention thus have a significant share in the good performance properties of the invention Upholstered body, but they can also be used regardless of its design in detail, in particular with regard to the spring elements, advantageously with upholstered bodies or even as an upholstered body in those cases in which good ventilation and stretchability of the upholstery are important.
  • the invention therefore generally also includes a foam pad, which is essentially characterized in that it is provided with vertically oriented shaped cavities which extend continuously over its height and which take up about 10 to 25% of their area and form a hole pattern of this type that each rectilinear parallel to its horizontal central plane intersects at least one of the cavities which, in the case of an embodiment in the basic form of elongated holes, form a perforated pattern with longitudinal central axes of the elongated holes which are alternately offset by 90 ° to one another.
  • a cushion body is shown with a rectangular cushion surface, which can in particular form a mattress.
  • cushion bodies also form the cushion surface of seats, couches or backrests and as such can also have a square or otherwise contoured cushion surface.
  • the cushion body has a multi-layered elastic core made of a suitable foam, which in the exemplary embodiment shown comprises a lower layer 1 of spring bodies 2 and an upper layer 3 of spring bodies 4 arranged above it.
  • the spring bodies 2 and 4 are each delimited by transverse and longitudinal channels 5 and 6, which are molded or worked into a plate-shaped foam material up to the height of a base layer 7 or 8.
  • the base layers 7 and 8 form a continuous underside support of their individual spring bodies 2 and 4, with which they are connected in one piece and each form a plate unit.
  • One or more further layers of spring bodies can optionally be arranged between the layer 1 and the layer 3, or the layer 3 can be used.
  • a support plate 9 as part of the elastic foam core, which has vertically oriented shaped cavities 10 in the form of material cutouts which extend continuously over their height and / or recesses, such as punch holes, is provided.
  • the cavities 10 form a perforated pattern such that each rectilinear parallel to the base layer 7 or 8 of the spring body layers 1, 3 intersects at least one cavity 10.
  • the proportion of the cavities 10 can amount to approximately 10 to 25% of the cushion surface.
  • the cavities 10 advantageously have the basic shape of elongated holes and form a perforated pattern with longitudinal central axes 11 of the elongated holes which are alternately offset by 90 ° to one another.
  • the mutual spacing of the cavities or elongated holes 10 is chosen in the illustrated example so that the longitudinal central axis 11 of one elongated hole coincides with the central transverse axis 12 of the other elongated hole 10 of two elongated holes 10 arranged offset from one another.
  • FIG. 2 illustrates an embodiment of the cavities 10 in the form of an oval indented in the center on both sides, the longitudinal central axes 11 and the central transverse axes 12 each being indicated by dash-dotted lines. This creates a stretchable network structure with arches.
  • FIG. 3 shows a shape of cavities 10 'in the form of a pair of holes of approximately circular cross section, which are connected in the center by a slot-shaped material recess 13, which defines the longitudinal central axis 11.
  • the mutual arrangement of the cavities 10 ' is carried out analogously to the example in FIG. 2.
  • FIG. 4 finally shows an embodiment of cavities 10 ′′ in the form of elongated holes rectangular basic shape, which can be rounded at the ends.
  • the longitudinal central axes 11 and the central transverse axes 12 are again shown in dash-dot lines in this example, the arrangement pattern of which also corresponds to that of FIGS. 2 and 3.
  • the base layer 8 of the spring body 4 simultaneously forms a support plate for the spring body 2 of the lower layer 1, on which it is placed on the upper side, and as such, like the support plate 9, is provided with the cavities 10.
  • the spring bodies 2 and 4 of the two layers 1 and 3 are in turn provided with vertically oriented shaped cavities 10a and 14, 14a, each of which extends continuously over their height, and which are vertical with the cavities 10, 10a and 10b of the support plates 8 and 9
  • Air exchange channels in the context of the proportion of the cavities 10, 10a, 10b and also the cavities 10a, 14, 14a form from 10 to 25% of the cushion surface, insofar as there is a full or partial coincidence between the superimposed cavities 10, 10a, 10b, 14 , 14a is reached.
  • vertically continuous air exchange channels are formed to such an extent that a complete ventilation of the cushion body is guaranteed over its entire thickness or height.
  • the shaped cavities of the support plate 8 or 9 can match the shaped cavities of the spring bodies 2, 4 in their shape and arrangement. This applies in particular to the cavities 10a of the layer 3, since here, for example, the foam plate forming the starting workpiece can first be provided with the vertically continuous cavities 10a by means of punched-out materials 10a, before the spring bodies 4 are cut in a subsequent operation by cutting the transverse and longitudinal channels 5 and 6 are formed.
  • the cavities 14, 14a of the spring bodies 2, 4 are selected differently in their shape and / or size compared to the cavities 10 of the support plate 9.
  • the cavities 14 in the spring bodies 2 of the lower layer are shown as circular holes of different diameters, possibly passing through the bass layer 7.
  • a cavity 14a is formed in the central region of some of the spring bodies 4, which opens into the base layer 8 with the cavities 10b which correspond to the cavities 10, 10a. In this way, the spring hardness of the cushion body can be changed in certain areas, as is desired to create different hardness zones of the cushion body.
  • cavities 17 can be formed at predetermined points of the cushion body in the area of the transverse and / or longitudinal channels 5, 6 by material cutouts or recesses as locally limited channel extensions. Such cavities 17 are expedient in the crossing points of transverse and longitudinal channels 5, 6 in the Foam of the upholstered body incorporated.
  • the transverse and / or longitudinal channels 5, 6 can also be widened downwards in predetermined zones of the cushion body, in contrast to the normal design of the transverse and longitudinal channels 5, 6 with a rectangular vertical cross-sectional profile.
  • longitudinal channels 6 ' are shown in a mutually uniform design with a wedge-shaped extension downwards
  • transverse channels 5' and 5 '' which in turn are wedge-shaped downwards, however the side of the wedge profile adjoining the base layer 8 is of different widths.
  • This enables further variations in the spring stiffness, just as is possible by different choice of the size or the diameter of the cavities 14, 14a and 17. Possibly. can also omit the longitudinal channels 6, 6 'in one or more spring body layers 1.3.
  • the cushion body is covered by a cover 15 made of a stretchable knitted fabric, e.g. Jersey or jersey, or surrounded by an elastic material, which in turn does not hinder the exchange of air and does not impair the point elasticity of the cushion body.
  • a cover 16 can be combined with the cover 15, which, for example, consists of sheep's wool, is itself stretchable and rests on the top of the support plate 9 or, as shown in FIG. 1, the cover 15.
