Definitions
- the present invention relates to a dispenser assembly for delivering a liquid or pasty product contained in a flexible bag provided with an automatic closing system which opens or closes, to deliver the product without air intake, depending on whether the product is , through the flexible pocket, whether or not subjected to sufficient pressure, the sou ⁇ ple pocket being, apart from its automatic closure system, housed sealed in a bottle whose envelope is provided with a closable passage for , in the event of closing of the closable passage, being able to compress the air then trapped between the pocket and the bottle, and thus uniformly compress the pocket to deliver the product.
- Such a dispenser assembly has the advantage that it can be operated with one hand and that the product is protected against environmental aggressions, for example: dust or sand in the event of the bottle falling to the ground, the water if it falls in the bathtub or in the sea, finally the air which oxidizes the products and prevents optimal conservation with minimum concentrations of chemical preservatives.
- a distributor assembly is described in which the envelope of the bottle is elastically deformable as a whole; in addition, provision is made for the closable passage of the envelope to be closed by the finger of the user whose hand is holding the envelope so as to directly exert on it the pressure necessary to deliver the product. This arrangement therefore requires the user to be careful to position a finger opposite the obturable passage.
- the quantity of product delivered essentially depends on the force exerted by the user's hand, and may even, accidentally, be quite excessive.
- the object of the present invention is, in particular, to remedy these drawbacks and proposes, in a particularly economical manner, to provide the dispenser assembly with a device arranged to deliver substantially the same quantity of product, whatever the fingering of the maneuver of the user.
- the present invention therefore firstly relates to a dispenser assembly as defined above, characterized in that the envelope of the bottle comprises a bellows-shaped element, which bellows is the only resiliently deformable part of the envelope of the bottle whose other walls are relatively rigid.
- a bellows is a known device and we know that at each operation it compresses the amount of air present in the bottle and allows the delivery of a quantity of product; at the end of each maneuver, to deliver the product again, it is obviously necessary to rearm the bellows and, therefore, the flow of an excess of product is no longer to be feared; it is even enough to size the bellows adequately to obtain only the desired quantity of product, and thus the distributor assembly also acts as a metering device.
- the dispenser assembly also includes an articulated handle which can be operated manually to compress the bellows.
- an articulated handle which can be operated manually to compress the bellows.
- a bellows is a relatively fragile member and to avoid using it prematurely by clumsy maneuvers, for example off-axis, it is preferable to impose on the user a single direction of maneuver by means of a handle articulated around 'a hinge.
- the dispenser assembly is characterized by the fact that said closable passage is arranged on the external wall of the bellows, and that said handle is provided internally, opposite the closable passage, with an element in relief arranged for close off the closable passage when the handle is operated.
- the bottle is provided with a neck comprising an annular bearing face and a snap-fitting collar
- the flexible pocket and the dome each comprise a collar
- the tapered body comprises an annular bearing face and a ring. breakdown, the assembly being arranged to achieve, by snap-fastening, a tight assembly of the dome on the flexible pocket.
- the dispenser assembly thus produced is particularly economical because each of its elements is moldable, their assembly being done by a simple snap-fastening. It is also possible to provide that the distributor assembly further comprises a closure capsule.
- the handle is articulated around a film hinge arranged on the frustoconical body; it is known in fact that certain plastics lend themselves particularly well to the constitution of hinges by providing a fairly small thickness at the desired location.
- the frustoconical body, the articulated handle, and the articulated capsule constitute a single molded part. The result is that the dispenser assembly according to the invention is not only very economical because of its method of manufacture, but also, it is easily maneuverable by the user; it protects the product against environmental aggressions, and finally it delivers the prescribed dose during each maneuver.
- FIG. 1 is an exploded sectional view of the components of a dispenser assembly according to the invention
- Figure 2 is an external view of the dispenser assembly obtained after mounting the elements of Figure 1
- - Figure 3 with its detail in Figure 3a ⁇ shows the same distributor assembly as that of Figure 2, but ready for use and seen in section;
- Figure 1 The exploded view of Figure 1 shows a bottle 5, a flexible bag 2, a dome 3 and an activator 4; all of these elements can be molded, for example from plastic.
- the activator 4 has three main parts, a handle 43, a body 41 and a capsule 42; these three parts are connected by articula ⁇ tions 48, 49, for example flexible film hinges.
- the body 41 is of generally cylindrical shape terminated by a frustoconical part on the upper side; the substantially cylindrical part internally carries a face 46 of annular support and in its lower part a snap ring 45.
- the capsule 42 articulated around the flexible hinge 49, has a generally frustoconical shape corresponding to that of the body 41 so as to cap it when the capsule 42 comes to tilt above the body 41.
- the handle 43 which can pivot down around the articulation 48, has a general U-shape open downwards; the central part of the U is internally provided with a boss 44 in the form of an annular crown.
- the activator 4 can only kill one molded part; in fact, only the snap ring 45 can have a demoulding difficulty, but in this case, provision can be made for it to be provided with radial slots to soften it.
- the dome 3 has a general shape of a nipple provided with a distribution slot 32 and an annular collar 31.
- the flexible pouch 2 intended to contain the product, may have any general shape, but preferably cylindrical; the flexible pocket 2 only has an opening 22 provided with an annular collar 21.
- the bottle 5 has a generally cylindrical shape or parallelepiped whose walls 53 are relatively rigid; one face of the bottle 5 is provided with a bellows 51 whose maneuverable wall 54 has a closable passage 52, for example a small cylindrical opening; the bellows 51 which tightly connects the wall 54 to the walls 53 obviously has the flexibility necessary for the operation of the bellows; the bottle 5 is provided with a neck 57 which ends in a face 56 of annular support under which a flange 55 is fitted.
- the flange 55 for snapping on the bottle 5 and the snap ring 45 for activating the activator 4 are arranged to snap onto each other while sealingly trapped between the face 56 of the annular support of the bottle 5 and the face 46 of the annular support of the activator 4, the two collars 21, 31, annu ⁇ larly of the flexible bag 2 and of the dome 3.
- the assembly of the dispenser assembly is carried out as follows: introduction of the flexible bag 2 into the bottle 5 through its neck 57 by applying the annular flange 21 of the flexible bag 2 to the face 56 of the annular support of the bottle 5 , filling the flexible pouch 2 with the product to be dispensed, positioning the dome on the annular flange 21 of the flexible pouch 2, and finally encli ⁇ quetting the body 41 of the activator 4 to obtain the complete dispenser assembly.
- the handle 43 of the activator 4 is clearly arranged so that it can be folded down by pivoting around the hinge 48 and thus come to surround the bottle 5, the boss 44 being positioned so as to be opposite the closable passage 52.
- Figure 2 is an exterior view of the dispenser assembly thus obtained.
- the bottle 5 partially hidden by the handle 43 articulated on the body 41 by means of the flexible hinge 48; the capsule 42, articulated around the flexible hinge 49 is shown here in the closed position.
- Figure 3 is a sectional view of the dispenser assembly of Figure 2 but this time with the capsule 42 having pivoted 180 ° around the hinge 49 to be in the open position so that the dispenser assembly is ready to use.
- the bellows 51 made of an elastic material, is here shown in its rest position. We know the general principle of operation of a bellows; here it will be used to compress the air located between the bottle 5 and the bag 2.
- the pass ⁇ sage 52 closable which constitutes the air inlet of the bellows arranged in the wall 54 from bottle 5; vis-à-vis this closable passage is provided on the handle 43, the relief element 44 intended to close the air inlet of the bellows; here the relief element 44 is an annular boss in the form of a crown centered on the passage.
- the handle 43 moves apart, so that air can again enter through the passage 52, between the bottle 5 and the bag 2, as the bellows 51 returns to its initial position because of its elasticity.
- the dome 3 being provided with a slot capable of delivering the product 6 without air intake, the flexible pocket 2 retains the shape and the volume it had reached at the end of the maneuver. This operating mode is clearly repetitive so that the volume of the flexible bag 2 is progressively reduced as a function of the quantity of product delivered during each maneuver.
