Description

The invention relates to a method and a device for emptying ink fountains according to the preamble of claims 1 and 2.

When cleaning the ink fountains of inking units of rotary printing presses, in particular web-fed rotary printing machines for offset printing, it is generally known to separate the ink fountain from the ink fountain roller for cleaning after the ink has been removed. Such a separation takes place, for. B. by swiveling the ink fountain away from the ink fountain roller, the lower part of the ink fountain being pivotable about an axis. Such a swiveling paint box is u. a. shown in DE-AS 26 29 331. The paint is removed by the operator using a spatula and is very time-consuming.

Furthermore, according to DE-OS 29 29 891, an ink fountain for a rotary printing press, consisting of an upper part and a lower part and a color knife that can be placed on the ductor, is known in such a way that an upper part designed as an ink container is removably arranged on the ink knife-bearing lower part. The disadvantage of this removable ink container is that when using different printing inks too a number of paint containers must be created in order to use them quickly when changing colors.

In the ink fountain itself, a vertical compartment plate is arranged sealingly between the light sides of the ink fountain side walls. This compartment plate can be adjusted in a sloping guide parallel to the ink fountain base and seated on it in the direction of the duct roller. For this purpose, a spring drive is provided, which presses the ink fountain plate continuously against printing ink between it and the duct roller. The aim of this is to ensure that there is always sufficient ink at the inking roller even in the case of small amounts of printing ink in the ink fountain.

The invention has for its object to provide a method and a device for emptying ink fountains for rotary printing presses, with which the ink residues from the ink fountain during color changes or cleaning work can be removed quickly and easily.

This object is achieved by the characterizing parts of claims 1 and 2.

The following advantages occur in particular when using the invention. By moving out the remaining ink in the ink fountain using a squeegee Rapid emptying of the ink fountain is ensured along the floor surface over the entire ink fountain width, so that the ink fountain is ready for use again after a cleaning process. As a result of the arrangement of a doctor blade strip with a working edge on the doctor blade, gentle treatment of the ink ductor and the base surface of the ink fountain is guaranteed.

On the highest edge 26 of the bottom surface 17, which runs obliquely downwards in the direction of the ink duct 2, there is a cuboid-shaped collecting container 4 for residual ink 28, generally designated 27, in the axially parallel direction by means of a holding strip 25 which extends over the edge 26 and is adapted to the angle of inclination of the bottom surface 17 mounted. A T-shaped cover rail 29 fastened to the housing of the adjusting device 7 prevents the paint from running down onto the eccentric 7 or its adjusting lever. The end faces 31; 32 of the collecting container 27 have tabs 33; 34 with which the collecting container 27 is supported on the upper surfaces 36 of the side parts 16. Between the ends of the retaining strip 25 and the tabs 33; 34 are on the end faces 31; 32 and securing tabs 37; 38 arranged, which have recesses 39 for receiving holding elements 40 connected to the side parts, for. B. screws. The collecting container 27 is either full, half or quarter width depending on the width of the ink fountain 6. On the end faces 31; 32 of the collecting container 27 are carrying elements, for. B. Handles 41; 42 arranged. Between the end faces 31; 32 of the collecting container 27, a vertical partition 43 can be arranged, behind which a storage container 44 for equipment is formed. The collecting container 27 can also consist of sheet metal. According to Fig. 1; 4 and 5, a doctor blade designated overall by 46 is shown, which consists of a sheet metal plate 47 with a width b which corresponds to the clear width of the ink fountain 6 delimited by the side parts 16 and a height h which corresponds approximately to the diameter d of the ink ductor 2 . This squeegee 46 has at one end parallel to the width b a right-angled bend 48 with handles, z. B. handles 49; 51. The squeegee 46 has squeegee strips 52 with a working edge 53, which also run parallel to the width b, at its end opposite the fold 48. The doctor strip 52 is by means of a strip-shaped holding plate 54 with the help an insert 56 clamped by rivets 57 or spot welds between the sheet metal plate 47 and the holding plate 54. The doctor strip 52 protrudes by the amount a beyond the sheet metal plate 47 or the holding plate 54.

The amount a can be between 10 and 80 mm. The material of the doctor strip can be made of brass, or plastic, e.g. B. polyoxymethylene (POM) or rubber.

The procedure for emptying ink fountains is as follows. To empty the ink fountain 6, the squeegee 46, whose width b approximately corresponds to the width of the ink fountain 6, is inserted into the ink fountain 6, so that the working edge 53 of the doctor blade strip 52 grazes along the outer surface of the ink ductor 2 until the working edge 53 touches the bottom surface 18 has reached in the vicinity of an axis-parallel line 58, which represents the line of contact of the color knives 8 arranged next to one another with the jacket of the color ductor 2.

After reaching or nearing line 58, the doctor blade 46 is moved along the bottom surface 17 of the ink fountain 6 in the direction of the edge 26 of the collecting container 27, the residual ink 28 being collected and brought into the interior 30 of the collecting container 27 for residual ink 28 . If necessary, this process must be repeated several times. The residual color 28 can of Squeegees 46 can be wiped off at the upper edge 59 of the partition 43, the upper edge 59 of the partition 43 also being able to be bent in the direction of the ink duct 2. The doctor blade 46 can then be deposited in the storage container 44. The collecting container 27 can be easily removed by lifting it upwards in the vertical direction from the ink application device 4, so that the ink application device 4 can subsequently be pivoted away from the ink duct 2 by means of the working cylinders 14 for the purpose of subsequent cleaning work.

The material of the doctor blade strip 52 is in any case softer than the material of the ink duct 2. The doctor blade 46 can also be made in one piece and consist of one material. The width b of the doctor blade 46 can correspond to half and the entire inside width of the respective ink fountain width. The height h of the doctor blade 46 does not have to correspond exactly to the diameter d of the ink duct 2, but can also deviate upwards or downwards.
