Abstract

What is provided is a hinge joint (4, 5), installed in a concealed manner, for tilting and pivoting wings (2) of windows and doors having a wing overlap (6, 22), in which hinge joint the pivot pin (12, 43) is arranged concealed in the region of the wing overlap, specifically in an interruption (8) of the seal (7) in the case of a metal frame (2) or in a recess (23) on the inside of the wing overlap (22) in the case of wooden or plastic windows (21), the interruption or recess terminating in both cases at a distance from the top edge or bottom edge of the wing overlap (6, 22), the said distance corresponding approximately to the width of the wing overlap itself. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a concealed hinge joint for tilt and pivot sashes of windows and doors with sash flaps, in which the pivot axis is in the area of the sash flap between the respective outer surfaces of the frame and the sash flap.

The installation takes place in a recess in the area of the wing, which rests on the fixed frame or bend frame in the closed position of the wing (cf. DE-OS'n 29 51 236 or 33 07 777). Such concealed hinge joints are also known for tilt and pivot sashes of windows and doors, in which the outside of the sash lies in the same plane as the outside of the frame, so that the sash rebate ends in a so-called shadow groove (see. DE-PS 23 30 874).

According to a not previously published proposal, attempts have also been made to install such a hinge joint concealed in tilting and swiveling sashes with a flap overlap, by working the flap overlap in the area of the sash corner on the inside to a small thickness, and in this way to both corners adjacent edges open recess a cap-shaped body, for example made of plastic, in which the parts of the hinge joint which determine the pivot axis are accommodated.

It is an object of the invention to develop a concealed hinge joint for the purposes specified at the outset and with the features of the preamble so that this installation option consists not only of wooden windows, but also of metal windows or windows made of plastic profiles, caps or the like. Covering or reinforcing parts are not necessary and the sash weight can also be reliably transferred to the frame in the area of the lower corner bearing via the swivel axis or the tilt axis.

This object is achieved by the teaching of claim 1.

The recess on the inside of the wing flap or the interruption of the seal arranged in the area of the wing flap ends in both cases for the upper bearing and for the lower bearing at a sufficient distance from the upper and lower wing edge, this distance in essentially corresponds to the normal rollover width. The interruption or recess is thus only open in the area of the vertical wing rebate towards the wing edge, but not only closed to the upper and lower wing edge but arranged so that the wing flap is stable and resilient even in this form without a cap or the like .

This design also allows such an arrangement of the tilt axis that the sash weight can be reliably transmitted via this regardless of the material of the frame or sash. The lower hinge joint is expediently designed according to the teaching according to claim 3 or according to the teaching according to claim 7. In the former case, the pivot axis between the frame-side hinge screw plate and the intermediate plate is effective, while the tilt axis between the intermediate plate and the wing-side hinge screw plate is effective. In this case, the lower hinge joint is thus formed in three parts, the parts being connected to one another in pairs by the two axes of movement of the wing.

The embodiment according to claim 7 offers the advantage of a large-area support of the wing for the tilting movements, specifically in the area of the lower spar of the frame. This training offers the further advantage of a possibility of adjusting the wing in the direction of the tilt axis.

Regardless of the hinge joints according to claim 1 in conjunction with claim 2 or claim 7, claim 9 materializes the idea of the displacement of the orthogonal pivot / rotation axis against the tilt axis of the wing. The shift ensures that there is no longer a common intersection, as is the case with ball joints, for example. If the tilt axis is arranged in or on the frame, a recess for its concealed arrangement in the sash is unnecessary (claim 10). Specifically, claim 11 summarizes the arrangement strategy, the tilt axis - perpendicular to the window frame plane - is displaced or moved so far inwards (in / on the window frame) that it no longer protrudes from the inner edge of the window frame. It is therefore provided in the inner edge area.

But not only is the tilting axis shifted so far inwards that it no longer protrudes, the pivoting / swiveling axis ("inside the frame") is concealed and no longer protrudes (claim 10). On the inside of the frame, both the pivot / pivot axis of the wing and the tilt axis are arranged, which means that no more bearings or hinges protrude from the wing or frame; the entire fitting is covered - following the arrangement principle of claims 9, 10, 11; which justifies its excellent optical effect - turn / tilt sash "without" (visible) fittings.

Technical outflow from this "basic principle" of the two mutually perpendicular axes of rotation, which are mutually displaced and concealed on the sash and bland frame, is a large number of specific fitting designs which are explained using exemplary embodiments.

The invention is explained in more detail below with the aid of schematic drawings using several exemplary embodiments.

Aus Figur 2 erkennt man, daß die Dichtungsunterbrechung 8 in einem vorbestimmten Abstand von der unteren bzw. der oberen Überschlagskante endet, welcher Abstand der Breite des Überschlages selbst entspricht.1 to 3 show a window formed from metal profiles with a tilting and swiveling sash and a sash flap. The wing flap 6 overlaps in a known manner in the closed position of the wing 2, the frame 1 on the outer surface lying on the room side. An actuating linkage is arranged in the casement in the usual way and can be actuated between the closed position, the tilted position and the pivoted position by means of the actuating handle 3 which can be moved into three positions. The wing is connected to the frame via an upper (4) and a lower (5) concealed hinge joint. FIG. 3 shows the concealed hinge joint serving as the lower corner joint. The hinge joint 5 is installed in such a way that the pivot axis 12 comes to lie between the wing overlap 6 and the outer surface of the frame 1 facing the interior of the room. The hinge joint has a hinge joint which can be screwed onto the hollow profile of the metal frame or a screw-on plate 13 which is pivotally connected to an intermediate plate 15 via the pivot axis 12. The intermediate plate 15 lies in the sash rebate 10 between the screw-on plate 13 of the frame and a screw-on plate 14 of the metal profile frame of the wing 2. The arrangement is such that the areas receiving the swivel axis 12 are in an interruption 8 of the seal lying in a profile groove 6a of the wing flap 6 7 is provided. It can be seen from FIG. 2 that the seal interruption 8 ends at a predetermined distance from the lower or upper rollover edge, which distance corresponds to the width of the rollover itself.

Figures 4 and 5 show the relationships previously described with a metal profile in wooden profiles. The frame is designated 20, the casement 21 and the flap 22. Otherwise, the same reference numerals are used as in Figures 1 to 3. In this case, however, the hinge joints 4 and 5 are provided in recesses 23 on the inside of the flap flap 22. Here, too, the recesses 23 end at a distance 24 from the upper and lower rollover edges, which corresponds to the width 24 of the rollover.

Es sind hier die gleichen Bezugszeichen wie in Figur 4 verwendet, jedoch, soweit die Teile voneinander abweichen, unter Hinzufügung des Buchstabens "a".FIG. 6 shows the same conditions in a representation according to FIG. 4 for frames made of plastic. The same reference numerals are used here as in FIG. 4, however, insofar as the parts differ from one another, with the addition of the letter "a".

According to FIG. 10, the upper hinge joint 4 has a screw-on plate 42 on the frame side, which is connected via the hinge pin 43 which forms the pivot axis 12 to a screw-on plate 40 on the sash frame side, which is connected to a stay arm 41 or stay scissors or the like arranged in the area of the top of the wing.

The lower concealed hinge joint 5 forms the lower corner bearing and has already been described essentially. Further details emerge from FIGS. 7, 8 and 9. It can be seen that the lower screw-on plate 16 on the frame side corresponds to the screw-on plate 42 of the upper hinge joint 4. The same also applies to the (lower) hinge pin 43 arranged in the pivot axis 12. In the lower hinge joint 5, the intermediate plate 15 is articulated via this hinge pin 43. In the area of its upper edge, this has an edge recess 30 which merges into an angular slot 31. The slightly curved slot section 31 corresponds to the relative movement of a guide pin 34 arranged on the wing-side screw-on plate 14 and provided with a head. In the example shown, a keyhole-like recess 32 is provided in the lower region of the intermediate plate 15, into which the pin 33 forming the tilt axis and provided with a head engages on the screw-on plate 14. Figure 8 shows the lower corner bearing in its tilted position. It can be seen that in this position the wing 2 is reliably secured against unhooking, the guide pin 34 and the slot section 31 forming the anti-lifting device serving for this purpose. In the closed position, on the other hand, the parts can be unhooked in that the pin 34 can be separated from the intermediate plate 15 via the edge recess 32 and the pin 33 provided with a head by expanding the recess 32.

The wing-side screw-on plate 14 engages with a reinforcing section 14a in the rebate profile groove of the wing frame 21, while an angled section 14b extends over the lower wing corner.

In the embodiment according to FIGS. 11 to 14, which show the lower corner joint, the intermediate plate is omitted. The cover plate-side screw-on plate 51 is pivotally connected directly to the wing-side screw-on plate 53 via the hinge pin 52. However, the screw-on plate 51 on the frame side is not fastened to the vertical spar of the window frame, but instead has an angled lower section 55. This extends over a significant length of the lower frame spar and is freely movable over its entire length on a screw-on plate 54 fixed to the lower frame spar. Its front edge is rounded and, together with section 55, forms the tilt axis 54a of the lower corner bearing 5. For this purpose, section 55 engages over slot-like recesses with sufficient play over conical or spherical pins 56, 57, which allow sufficient play for the tilting movement of the wing. One or both pins 56, 57 can have an anti-lift device. An adjusting eccentric 60 is arranged on the screw-on plate 54 and engages with its eccentric section in a transverse recess in section 55, so that an adjustment in the direction of the double arrow 61 is possible.

The wing-side screw-on plate 53 is designed as an angle piece and engages with a corresponding reinforcement 59 in the rebate groove of the wing, as illustrated in FIG. 11. Figure 14a shows the closed position, while Figure 14b shows the parts in the wing tilt position.

In all embodiments, the recesses or interruptions can be made and the hinge joints arranged so that a gap 65 remains between the hinge joint and the space-side outer surface of the frame 1, in which the remaining thickness of the sash can engage when the sash is pivoted open, so that the sash over the swivel axis can be opened up to almost 180 °; this is illustrated in FIG. 15.

The relationships of FIGS. 3, 8, 11 and 14a and 14b are illustrated in FIGS. 14c and 14d, with particular reference to the axes determining the movement of the wing 2 - the axis of rotation and the tilting axis. The axes form an orthogonal pair of axes which allows the pivoting (rotation) of the wing 2 about the pivoting or rotating axis 12, 52 and the tilting of the wing 2 about the tilting axis 33, 54a. Both respective axes are orthogonal, but they are mutually crazy and do not have a common intersection. This applies to all regular movements and positions of the wing 2 with respect to the frame 1. The displacement allows that the recesses 23 or 8 (see FIG. 2, FIG. 5) also with the lower rotary / tilting element 5 at a corresponding distance can end from the lower edge of the wing. For the tilt axis, there is therefore no need for a recess, which basically weakens the wing.

The extent of the above-described displacement is designed such that the tilt axis 52 is displaced so far inward with respect to the axis of rotation 54a that it (the tilt axis) does not protrude with respect to the inner edge of the frame. The latter applies when viewed in a plane perpendicular to the frame level.

With a suitable design of the screw-on plates 54 and 55, or of the section 55 of the screw-on plate 51, the tilt axis is displaced parallel to the frame level - when the wing 2 is tilted. The shift is slight and corresponds to the width of the lower rollover.

If a recess is not required for the tilt axis which does not protrude from the inner edge of the frame, the recesses 8, 23 can end at a good distance from the lower edge of the wing, thus increasing the stability of the wing.
