- doctor blades have to fulfill crucial functions. It should help to create a closed, and relatively thick layer that is completely smooth and free of squeegee strips.
- Different types of doctor blades are conceivable, for example with a stiff blade, with a bent blade that tangentially clings to the coated paper web in its free end region and the roller doctor blade. The apperative effort for such doctor devices is very considerable. Nevertheless, the previously known doctor blade devices have not met the required requirements for the line quality.
- the invention has for its object to design a commissioned work according to the preamble of claim 1 such that the line quality is further improved, in particular with regard to smoothness, closedness of the line surface and with regard to the sensitive metering of the line weight, with a reasonable apperative effort.
- the roller applicator shown in Figure 1 comprises an applicator roller 1, which rotates in a coating sump 2.
