Definitions

  • the invention is in the field of the packaging industry and relates to a closure unit according to the preamble of the first claim.
  • Closure units preferably made of plastic, consisting of a pouring part with a pouring opening and a closing part closing the pouring opening of the pouring part, are often used on containers for liquids such as metal cans or containers made of coated cardboard for a reclosable opening and for convenient pouring, which are placed in an opening of the container.
  • the two Swiss patent applications No. 2740/91 and 2739/91 describe such closure units.
  • the closure units described are cast using a multi-material injection molding process and consist of at least two materials which differ in at least one property.
  • the aforementioned application document No. 2740/91 requires that the closure unit is always connected as a whole to the container during normal use in such a way that the closure part is also open when it is in normal use cannot be completely removed from the pouring part.
  • a flexible web or a plurality of webs which connects the closure part to the pouring part or is molded onto the closure part and is held between the container and the pouring part.
  • the disadvantage of this connection between the pouring part (or container) and the closure part is that the closure part does not have a precisely defined position in the open state, so that in addition to a closing movement, a positioning movement is also necessary for the closure. If the closing movement is not carried out exactly, the sealing surfaces on the outside or inside of the pouring opening have to be deformed, which means an unnecessary effort.
  • closure units which are cast from one material, also have connecting webs between the pouring part and the closure part.
  • the closure unit is manufactured in the open state and closed before or after assembly on the container.
  • the web connection has the same disadvantages as the connecting webs according to the mentioned application no. 2740/91.
  • closure unit the closure part of which seals well against the pouring part in the closed state and the closure part of which remains connected to the pouring part even in the open state, in a position defined in relation to the pouring part such that a single, a simple swivel movement around a swivel axis is sufficient to close the pouring opening.
  • the closure unit should also be designed in such a way that when closing or opening only the zones serving as elastic form-locking means have to be deformed, so that the effort required for opening and closing is a minimum.
  • the closure unit according to the invention has a hinge, with the aid of which the closure part can be pivoted to a limited extent about a pivot axis relative to the pouring part.
  • the pivot axis lies essentially on a rectilinear part of the end face of the wall of the pouring opening facing the closure part.
  • the closure unit around the pouring opening has front, inner and / or outer sealing surface pairs, which (in the closed state of the closure unit) each consist of a sealing surface on the pouring part side and a sealing part on the closure part side, the sealing surfaces being designed such that they pivot when the closure part is pivoted not be deformed.
  • the closure unit according to the invention is advantageously produced by the multi-material injection molding process, in which in a first casting step a pre-molded part is cast from a first material, then the mold is at least partially moved or replaced and then the closure unit is finished with a second material, the pre-molded part serves at least partially as a casting mold.
  • sealing surface pairs can be cast onto one another, one sealing surface consisting of the first material and the second sealing surface consisting of the second material.
  • the molded sealing surfaces fit each other very precisely and therefore offer optimal tightness.
  • FIG. 1 shows an exemplary embodiment of the closure unit according to the invention with a pouring part 1 and a closing part 2.
  • the pouring part is firmly connected to a container 3.
  • the closure part is pivotally connected to the pouring part 1 via a hinge 4.
  • Figure 2 shows possible pairs of sealing surfaces for sealing the closed closure unit in section. These are located on the end face of the wall of the pouring opening (A), on the outside surface of the wall (B) and / or on the inside surface of the wall of the pouring opening (C), the pairs of sealing faces on the end face being essentially perpendicular to an axis running through the pouring nozzle , the outer and inner run essentially parallel to it. It is easy to see from the figure that the schematically illustrated closure parts are simply perpendicular to the top (parallel to the pouring axis) can be removed from the pouring parts. It is different when the closure part is pivoted to open the closure unit.
  • pairs of sealing surfaces shown as running perpendicular to the plane of the paper it is obvious that the closure parts 2 could be pivoted into an open position without difficulty about an axis of rotation lying outside and above the spout and parallel to the plane of the paper.
  • the pivot axis is not in the plane of the paper, but perpendicular to it, for example, it is also obvious that the sealing surfaces of the individual pairs of sealing surfaces come into conflict with one another when the closure part is pivoted, that is to say that they deform one another if their shape is not corrected accordingly .
  • the only pairs of sealing surfaces that are not affected by a swiveling movement, such as by a simple lifting movement, are the front sealing surface pairs A.
  • swivel axes Z are drawn in perpendicular to the plane of the paper, the swivel movement of the closure part with a solid arrow, and the corresponding swivel movements from edge points of the sealing surfaces are indicated by dashed arrows.
  • Figure 2 is oversubscribed in such a way that corresponding pivoting movements are not possible, since where the pivoting sealing part on the closure part side is closer to the pivot axis than the stationary sealing part on the pouring part side, the two sealing surfaces come into conflict with one another if they are shaped as shown.
  • the sealing surface pairs In order for the corresponding swivel movements to be possible without deformation of the sealing surface pairs, the sealing surface pairs must be curved concavely as seen from the swivel axis, that is to say they must curve around the swivel axis in such a way that in each cutting surface perpendicular to the swivel axis the one furthest away from the swivel axis Point the pivoting sealing surface can move along the stationary sealing surface (on a circular arc).
  • FIG. 3 shows schematically various exemplary embodiments of closure units according to the invention as a top view of the pouring opening.
  • the hinge is symbolically represented by the pivot axis Z.
  • inner (C) or outer (B) sealing surfaces, or none at all, must be corrected, depending on the position, relative to the swivel axis.
  • the sealing surfaces (B or C or /) to be corrected are marked on the corresponding wall sections delimiting the pouring opening.
  • FIG. 4 shows a closure unit according to the invention according to FIG. 1 as a top view and as a section according to view FF of the top view.
  • the closure unit has an outer pair of sealing surfaces B and an end pair of sealing surfaces A.
  • the pair of sealing surfaces has been corrected on the wall areas bordering on the hinge (pivot axis Z).
  • FIG. 5 shows a diagram for the precise configuration of the correction of the sealing surface pairs using a simple example.
  • the figure consists of a projection (below) into a plane in which the pivot axis lies and a projection (above) into a plane in which the pouring axis (not shown) lies and which in the present case is penetrated vertically by the pivot axis Z.
  • the diagram shows the surface that is described for a pivoting movement from that edge of the pivoting sealing surface that completely slides over the stationary sealing surface during a pivoting movement. When the closure unit is closed, this edge has the position a.
  • Points P, Q and R on edge a move on the tracks P ', Q' and R 'on circular paths perpendicular to the swivel axis Z, whose diameters p, q and r correspond to the distance of the points P, Q and R from the swivel axis.
  • the surface formed by the tracks P ', Q', and P ' corresponds to the corrected shape of an outer pair of sealing surfaces, along a wall part which forms an angle ⁇ with respect to the pivot axis and, in the uncorrected state, is parallel to the pouring axis.
  • corrected sealing surface pairs are also designed for more complicated wall areas and sealing surface shapes.
  • FIG. 6 now shows in perspective a corrected, outer sealing surface F on the pouring part of a closure unit according to FIG. 1. Since the sealing surface F does not run parallel to the pouring axis, but rather has a shape tapering towards the pouring opening, the correction is only in one area that is limited by the two dashed lines m and n necessary.
