Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for cleaning closing heads in a device for closing containers with crown caps according to the preamble of claim 1 and a device suitable for carrying it out.
- Bottles with crown caps or similar crimp caps are used in particular in the beverage industry, where they are followed by filling devices.
- the closing devices usually have a plurality of closing heads, which are arranged all round in the manner of a carousel and are loaded with crown caps during the circulation.
- the bottles are closed with the crown corks when the closing heads are aligned with the mouths of the bottles, which are conveyed on a path coinciding with the circular path of the closing heads.
- a method of the type mentioned is apparent from DE-PS 32 27 244, in which a rinsing liquid is let into the gap between the punch and the guide bore through flow openings opening into this space, which is drained downwards out of the gap space and the latter at least partially flushed out.
- the flushing agent can be let into the interior through the flow opening and then flows out of the closing head through the gap between the plunger and the wall of the guide bore.
- the reverse flow path can be provided, for which a cap is placed on the end of the closing head facing the container mouth, a cavity being formed between the inner wall of the cap and the end of the closing head, into which the gap between the punch and the Wall of the guide hole opens.
- the gap between the punch and the wall of the guide bore is widened at the end of the punch facing the container mouth and a flow channel is provided between the gap and the interior.
- This embodiment has the advantage that the lower end region of the closing head, which is most at risk of contamination, is subject to particularly effective cleaning, in that, on the one hand, the widening of the gap space and, on the other hand, intensive purging of this gap space prevent dirt from settling.
- reference numeral 1 denotes a stamp 1 serving as an ejector and hold-down device, in the lower end face of which a magnet 7 for holding a crown cap 17 is inserted.
- the stamp 1 is guided in a cylindrical guide bore essentially formed by a sleeve 2.
- the stamp 1 is widened and has a contact surface against which a spring device 4 in the form of a helical spring comes to rest.
- the helical spring is arranged in a sleeve 3, which together with the sleeve 2 forms the interior 9 of the closing head and comes with its upper end against the bottom of the sleeve 3.
- a flow opening 10 for a detergent is provided in this upper floor.
- the sleeves 2 and 3 inserted into one another are firmly connected to one another and can be moved together in a vertically controlled manner by movement devices (not shown) to which they are connected via a connecting piece 8.
- movement devices not shown
- the sleeves 2, 3 are moved against the bottle, the spring 4 being compressed.
- the sleeves 2, 3 are moved in such a way that the crown cap edge through the is formed at the lower end of the sleeve 2 formed cone 5.
- the gap 14 with a gap space is designated, which is formed between the outer wall of the stamp 1 and the inner wall of the guide bore of the sleeve 2, in which the stamp 1 is guided.
- the gap 14 is widened at the end of the stamp 1 facing the crown cap 17 by reducing the diameter of the stamp 1.
- the widened area of the gap is designated 14a.
- the otherwise cylindrical circumference of the stamp 1 is provided with a plurality of flats running in the longitudinal direction, so that a polygonal cross section is formed (see FIG. 2).
- These flattened areas together with the interior of the guide bore in the sleeve 2, form flow channels 6, which connect the interior 9 with the gap spaces 14, 14a.
- a detergent preferably a liquid such as. B. a disinfectant, introduced in the direction of arrow 11 in the upper flow opening 10.
- the flushing agent flows through the entire interior 9 and then enters the flow channels 6 or the gap spaces 14 and then into the expanded gap space 14a according to the arrows 12, before it leaves the closing head at the lower end of the gap space 14a according to the arrows 13 (the crown cap 17 is in Fig. 1 only to illustrate the Functionality of the closing head shown.
- the closing heads When cleaning, the closing heads are generally not provided with a crown cap.) When flushing the closing head according to arrows 11 to 13, there is an intensive flow and cleaning of all interior areas in which the closing device shown integrates during operation of the closing device is a source of putrefaction, a breeding ground for harmful germs, etc.
- a cup-like cap 15 is attached to the lower end of the sleeve 2, in the bottom of which a flow opening 16 is provided.
- a cavity is formed between the inner wall of the cap 15 and the lower end of the closing head, into which the expanded gap space 14a opens.
- the closing head according to FIG. 4 partially corresponds to the closing head according to FIG. 1; Matching parts are provided with the same reference numbers and the index b.
- the plunger 23 guided in the sleeve 2b to form an enlarged gap space 14b and flow channels 6b connecting this to the interior 9b has a tubular extension 22 on the side facing the interior 9b, which extends shortly in front of the upper end wall of the sleeve 3b ends.
- the outer diameter of the extension 22 is smaller than the inner diameter of the spring device 4b, so that a sufficient flow cross section remains free.
- a flow opening 20 is formed, which is connected to the lower end surface of the punch 23 by a flow channel 21 running inside the extension 22 and the punch 23 or opens there into the open.
- the flow channel 21 runs concentrically to the central axis of the plunger 23. Accordingly, the magnet 24 embedded in the lower end surface of the plunger 23 is designed in a ring shape and is arranged concentrically to the opening of the flow duct 21.
- a cup-shaped cap 26 is attached to the lower end of the sleeve 2b provided with corresponding grooves by means of pins or clamps 25.
- This has a continuous flow opening 27 in the center, which connects directly to the flow channel 21 in the plunger 23.
- an upwardly open annular groove 28 is formed in the interior of the cap 26, which connects directly to the gap space 14b.
- a further continuous flow opening 29 opens into this annular groove 28.
- the both flow openings 27 and 29 in the cap 26, which are separated from one another by a sealing ring 34, are connected via hoses 30, 31 to a supply and discharge for a liquid detergent. This is e.g. B.
- the cap 26 is removed from the sleeve 2b, without loosening the hoses 30, 31, and then placed on a receptacle 32 provided with a corresponding annular groove.
- This receptacle 32 is fastened to a height-fixed support 33, which guides the connecting piece 8b in a height-adjustable manner. In this parking position, the cap 26 can remain during the normal operation of the closing device.
- the extension 37 of the plunger 36 is led out of the interior 9c in a liquid-tight manner with its extended upper end and opens with its flow opening 44 into a flow chamber 41 formed within the sleeve 40.
- the hose 31c is connected to this, through which the detergent can be supplied or removed.
- the flow opening 44 is connected through the flow channel 45 formed within the extension 37 and the plunger 36 to the flow opening 35c formed on the lower end face of the plunger 36.
- the jacket of the plunger 36 is essentially cylindrical and evenly distributed over its circumference with a plurality of longitudinal grooves running in the axial direction. These form flow channels 38 through which the gap 14c is connected to the interior 9c.
- the gap 14c is formed by the jacket of the punch 36 and by an area with an enlarged diameter of the guide bore for the punch 36 in the sleeve 39.
- the hose 30c is connected to the flow opening 43 formed in the sleeve 40 at the upper end of the interior 9c in the sleeve 40 and through which the detergent can be removed or supplied.
- the cap 42 which is fastened in a liquid-tight manner at the lower end of the sleeve 39, has no flow openings leading into the open. With its inner surface spaced apart from the end face of the punch 36, it forms a cavity into which both the flow opening 35c in the punch 36 and the gap 14c between the punch 36 and its guide bore open.
- the flushing liquid as indicated by an arrow in FIG. 5, is fed through the upper hose 31c, the flow through all areas of the closing head indicated by arrows results.
- the flushing liquid first flows down through the flow channel 45 to the end face of the plunger 36 or into the cap 42, intensively flushes around the plunger 36 and the gap space 14c and then flows upwards through the interior 9c, where it flows through the flow opening 43 and the Hose 30c is discharged.
- an effective cleaning can also be carried out with the closing head according to FIG. 5 without a cap, in that the interior 9c and the gap 14c can be flushed through the supply of flushing liquid via the lower hose 30c and the flow opening 43, after which the rinsing liquid flows outside.
- the interior of the attachment 37 and the plunger 36 and the middle region of its end face can be flushed.
- the flow channel 45 in the region of the plunger 36 can additionally or exclusively end at one or more points on the circumference of the plunger 36.
- the lower region of the flow channel 45 can also branch into a plurality of obliquely directed subchannels which form a plurality of flow openings on the lower end face of the plunger 36.
