Abstract

A transport rack for glass sheets for automobiles comprises a torsion-resistant bottom part (1) and two rows (21, 22) of support bars (23) aligned vertically. The support bars (23) form insertion compartments, to be loaded from above, for single glass sheets (29, 32). A rider-type holding element (31) is secured resiliently on each support bar (23) in such a way that it can be fitted under prestress onto the upper edge of the glass sheet (29, 32) assigned to the respective support bar (23). In this manner, each single glass sheet (29, 32) can be fixed individually in its insertion compartment independently of the adjacent glass sheets. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a transport frame for glass panes, in particular for car glass panes, with a torsionally rigid base part with horizontal support strips for setting up the glass panes and with tensioning devices acting on the upper edges of the upright glass panes.

From DE-B-12 05 898 a transport frame of this type is known, in which built in a rigid open and stackable frame with a slotted elastic covering lower support strips, and also provided with a slotted elastic covering tensioning straps as upper holding members on the frame are.

In the transport frame of the generic type for automobile glass panes known from DE-C-38 43 187, the tensioning devices consist of rigid holding rails which act on the upper edges of the glass panes via tab-shaped plastic holding elements.

These known transport racks with tensioning devices acting on the upper edges of the upright glass panes are only suitable for the transport of glass panes which are all of the same size.

A transport frame provided for the storage and transport of flat glass panes of different sizes is known from DE-B-15 11 997. In this transport frame, individual compartments are formed by rows of vertical support rods, into which the panes are inserted individually from the side. The glass panes are fixed and secured by comb-shaped inflatable retaining strips which are arranged on the lateral edges of the glass panes.

The invention has for its object to provide a transport frame for curved car glass panes in particular, in which glass panes of different shape and size can be securely fixed and transported in one and the same transport frame. The transport frame should also be conveniently collapsible to save space, and should be able to be stacked on top of one another both in the loaded state and in the empty, folded state.

The transport frame according to the invention is characterized in that rows of vertically aligned support rods are arranged on the bottom part, which form slots for individual glass panes to be loaded from above, and that a tab-shaped holding element is resiliently attached to each support rod in such a way that it is pretensioned on the the upper edge of the glass pane inserted in the respective shelf support slot can be placed.

In contrast to the known transport frames for car glass panes, in which the individual rider-shaped holding elements placed on the upper edge of the glass pane are connected to one another and the clamping devices act on all associated holding elements simultaneously, each individual glass pane is assigned its own clamping device in the transport frame according to the invention, which is different from the other clamping devices is independent. In this way, not only glass panes of different sizes can be transported in such a transport frame, but because of the individual individual bracing of the glass panes, any number of the compartments of the transport frame can be filled without this affecting the secure arrangement of the glass panes in the frame. For this reason, the transport frame according to the invention is particularly suitable for the transport of car replacement panes, in which individual glass panes of different sizes are often shipped from the wholesaler to the customer.

The invention provides a reusable transport frame, through which the disposable packaging previously customary for the purposes mentioned in cardboard boxes or crates, so that the transport frame according to the invention is of particular importance from the point of view of saving packaging material.

In order to save space during the necessary return transport of the empty transport racks, the rake-like support rods can each be arranged on a support rotatably mounted on the base part of the frame and fixable in the working position, so that the support rakes can be folded onto the base part when the transport frame is empty . Likewise, the side parts of the transport frame can be mounted in a manner known per se so that they can be folded onto the base part via the folded support rakes and the transport frames folded in this way can be stacked one above the other.

Further advantages and details of the invention emerge from the subclaims and from the following description of a preferred exemplary embodiment of the transport frame according to the invention with reference to the drawings.

The supporting base part 1 of the transport frame has a frame welded together from longitudinal profiles 2 and transverse profiles 3 with four feet 4 and four short corner posts 5 arranged above the feet 4. Stacking pockets 7 are formed within the feet 4 or next to the feet 4 by obliquely arranged sheet metal sections 6, which allow both the loaded transport racks and the empty and folded transport racks to be stacked on top of one another. On the underside of the longitudinal profile 2, two stops 8 are also arranged, between which the fork of a forklift truck when the transport frame is received under the longitudinal profiles 2 takes hold. In the areas next to the stops 8, i.e. above the forks of a forklift truck, fenders 12 laterally folded up are arranged between the two longitudinal profiles 2, which on the one hand protect the glass panes from possible contact by the fork of the forklift truck and on the other hand for further stiffening of the bottom part.

At the short corner post 5 of the bottom part, a frame-shaped side part 20 made of corner supports 13 and an upper cross strut 14 is arranged in such a way that the side parts engage in the upright position via suitable bearings in the corner post 5 and in this position on the one hand as lateral protection for the glass panes and on the other hand serve as supports when stacking several such transport racks. To support the frame-shaped side parts, the corner supports 13 are each provided with two projecting bearing bolts 15 and 16 which are mounted in the vertical slots 17 and 18 assigned to them. The upper bearing bolts 16 are lifted out of the open slots 18 by lifting, and the side parts can be folded onto the bottom part by pivoting around the lower bearing bolts 15. In this folded state, the corner posts 5 serve as supports for the transport frame placed thereon when the transport frames are stacked on top of one another.

On the longitudinal profiles 2 of the base part, two support rakes 21, 22 are arranged in a parallel arrangement to the cross profiles 3, the individual support rods 23 of which form the slots to be loaded from above, each for a glass pane. The individual support rods 23 are welded below to a profile section 24 which, like the foldable side parts 20, is mounted on the longitudinal profiles 2 in such a way that the support rods 23 can be locked in an upright position on the one hand, but on the other hand after releasing the locking by lifting them into the horizontal position can be pivoted to the bottom part. For this purpose, the profile sections 24 are mounted in swivel bearings 40 in that they are provided with bearing pins 41 which are mounted in vertically aligned elongated holes 42. In its lower position, each profile section 24 is secured against twisting by flat iron flags 25 welded to the longitudinal profiles 2.

The support of the support rakes 21, 22 is also designed so that the support rakes 21, 22, as a whole, can be removed from their pivot bearings and exchanged for support rakes with other dimensions, for example with shorter or longer support rods 23. For this purpose, the bearing pin 41 is mounted on one side of the profile section 24 in an angle bracket 43, which is fastened as such with screws 44 on the longitudinal profile 2.

The length of the support rods 23 must in any case be less than the height of the glass pane 29 or 32 located in the associated insertion compartment. On the other hand, the support rods 23 should not be significantly shorter than the respective glass pane so that it is supported as well as possible. If glass panes of very different sizes are to be transported in a transport frame, support rakes with support rods of different lengths can also be used for this purpose, as shown in FIG. 1 for illustration.

As can be seen in detail from FIG. 2, each support rod 23 consists of an iron tube section 27, which is covered with a hose section 28 made of an elastic material, in particular an elastic polymer. A rubber cord 30 is arranged in each tube section 27, and a tab-shaped holding element 31 is attached to the upper end thereof. The rubber rope 30 is under sufficient pretension. In order to fix a glass pane 29 or 32 in the associated slide-in compartment, the holding element 31 is placed on the upper edge of the glass pane 32 by further stretching the rubber rope 30. Due to the action of the rubber rope 30, the glass pane 32 is pressed firmly against the support 33, which is also made of an elastic polymer, on the profile section 24 via the holding element 31 and is thus held securely in its position.

In the exemplary embodiment shown, the rubber cable is fastened within the pipe sections 27 in such a way that the rubber cable 30 is led out of the pipe section 27 open at the bottom and inserted into the adjacent pipe section 27 'from below. A holding element 31 made of suitable plastic is attached to the two ends of the rubber rope 30. The fastening of the holding element 31 can be done, for example, with the aid of a node 35, which is accommodated in a corresponding recess 36 in the holding element.

Of course, suitable steel springs or other rubber or spring-elastic elements can be used instead of the rubber cables 30.

In this case, a profile bar section 45 with a C-shaped profile cross section is arranged on the rectangular tube 24. In the upward opening of the C-profile 45, the holding web of a T-shaped rubber profile strip 46 is arranged, which is fastened in this way by clamping action on the profile section 45.
