- Such a camshaft is known from DE 34 01 057 C2. It has been shown here that unsatisfactory results are achieved when the hollow shaft is expanded due to the extreme jumps in stiffness in the transition region between the contour of the through-hole and the groove lying next to it. Although it is desirable to not only elastically but also plastically deform the shaft body in order to achieve the non-positive connection, in the known state of the art, inadmissibly high deformations of the shaft material can occur in the above-mentioned transition region.
