Abstract

A container (1) with a snap-on lid with an at least one-part body (2) and a lid (4) which, together with a body component at the closure end of the body, forms a sealed closure, in which there is a lever gap between the body and lid for the engagement of a lever via which the lid can be levered up, whereby the lid has a circumferential sprung engagement lip (8) which engages from inside under tension in a sealing groove in the body component matching the shape of the engagement lip (in accordance with patent application P 40 29 146.4), whereby the engagement lip of the lid engages elastically in an inwardly rolled upper circumferential edge in the body component instead of in separately made sealing groove.

Description

DruckdeckeldosePressure lid can
The invention relates to a pressure lid can with an at least one-piece fuselage body and a lid body which, together with a fuselage element arranged at the end of the fuselage body at the closure side, forms a tight closure in which a lever gap between the fuselage body and the lid body remains free for the engagement of a lever which the cover body can be pried open, the cover body having a circumferential, resilient engagement lip which engages from inside with a biasing bead of the fuselage element adapted to the shape of the engagement lip (according to patent application P 40 29 146.4).
The known pressure lid can advantageously allows the lid body to snap into the locking bead of the fuselage element, so that the lid body is held under prestress in the locking bead plane by pressing the engagement lip with spring force into the locking bead. The main advantage of such a closure is that such a pressure lid can be opened without special tools in a non-destructive and simple manner by causing a lever in the lever gap to pull the engagement lip radially inwards while the fuselage element follows is pressed on the outside, whereby the engagement lip in the area of the lever disengages from the sealing bead. By "that the closure engages with a high spring tension, a very good seal can be achieved. A further important advantage consists in the resale of closing the pressure lid box, which opened a Mehrfachver¬ application, package, optionally in the form of a Mehrwegver¬.
The invention is based on the object of developing the known pressure lid can with a hinged lid closure in such a way that, while maintaining all the advantages listed, in particular the manufacture of the body of the body is simplified and the filling and sealing of the can is optimized.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that, instead of engaging in a separately produced closure bead, the engagement lip of the cover body resiliently engages under an inwardly rolled upper peripheral edge flange of the fuselage element.
This measure makes it possible to remove the upper circumferential edge normally present in each can body. - 3 -
Flare (if it is rolled inwards) can be used directly as a sealing element for the new pressure lid can according to P 40 29 146.4, without having to stamp a separate sealing bead. In addition, the volume of the can body can be optimally used for filling in such a construction, since the engaging lip of the lid body snaps directly onto the upper peripheral edge of the body. Finally, the sealing process of the can can also be further optimized, as is shown in more detail below.
In a special embodiment of the invention it is provided that an inwardly embossed fuselage bead is arranged below the peripheral edge flanging at a distance which essentially corresponds to the outside diameter of the engagement lip. This additional fuselage bead enables the cover body to be supported on the side opposite the lever application point when the cover is opened and at the same time prevents the cover from being accidentally pressed too deeply into the body when it is closed.
Alternatively, it can be provided that the diameter of the fuselage body is reduced below the circumferential edge flanging at a distance which essentially corresponds to the outer diameter of the engagement lip so that there is a step offset into the interior of the fuselage body. This embodiment has the same effect as the previously described lower fuselage bead and is preferred if the fuselage body is a flatter container, for example in the form of a shell.
Die Dichtmasse ermöglicht es, die Druckdeckeldose hermetisch - -It is preferably provided that a sealing compound is provided below the peripheral edge flanging in the area in which the engagement lip resiliently engages under it. The sealing compound makes the pressure cap can hermetic - -
abzudichten, wobei sich hinsichtlich des Verhaltens der verschlossenen Druckdeckeldose während der Sterilisation dieselben Vorteile ergeben, wie sie bereits in der Haupt¬ patentanmeldung beschrieben sind.to seal, with the same advantages with regard to the behavior of the closed pressure lid can during sterilization as have already been described in the main patent application.
It is particularly preferred if the sealant is bactericidal, e.g. by adding ascorbic acid to prevent penetration of the sealant by bacteria.
In a further embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the cover body consists of plastic. In contrast to a manufacture of the lid body. In this case, ultra-fine sheet metal would consist of solid material instead of a curl, and the material thickness could be greater.
When the lid body is made of plastic, means for reducing an overpressure are preferably built into the can, which e.g. can consist of an integrated, semi-permeable pressure relief valve.
Another embodiment of the invention provides that the peripheral edge flanging is designed so that it tapers in cross-section by sloping its inner peripheral surface towards its upper end. The aim of this is to make it easier for the lid body to be pressed in when the fuselage body is closed for the first time or repeatedly, since the engagement lip can be pushed outward without great effort by sliding the engagement lip down on the bevel of the peripheral edge flange.
Im folgenden werden unter Bezugnahme auf die Zeichnungen Ausführungsbeispiele der Erfindung näher erläutert- Dabei zeigt: - 5 -Exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings. - 5 -

Fig. 6 is an illustration as in Fig. 5, showing the corresponding pressure relief valve during the escape of expanding gas from the inside of the can.
Dabei entspricht der Abstand zwischen der Rumpfsicke - 6 -The pressure cap can 1 consists of a cylindrical body 2, the upper end of which represents the body element 6. The pressure lid can 1 is closed in this part with a lid body 4, the engagement lip 8 of which resiliently engages in the space between the inwardly rolled upper peripheral edge flange 10 of the fuselage element 6 and the inwardly embossed fuselage bead 18. The distance between the fuselage corresponds to this - 6 -
18 und dem unteren Ende der Umfangsrandbördelung 10 im wesentlichen dem Außendurchmesser der Eingriffslippe 8, so daß diese direkt die Umfangsrandbördelung untergreift.18 and the lower end of the peripheral edge flange 10 substantially the outer diameter of the engagement lip 8, so that it engages directly under the peripheral edge flange.
As an alternative to this, as shown in FIG. 2, the engagement lip 8 of a cover body 4 'can also be supported at the bottom on a step 20 which arises from the fact that the diameter of the body body 2 is at a distance which is also essentially corresponds to the outer diameter of the engagement lip, reduced. This embodiment is particularly preferred when such a can shape has already been specified, for example in the case of relatively flat shells.
For hermetic sealing of the lid closure, a sealing compound 22 is provided in both cases between the engagement lip 8 and the space between the peripheral edge flange 10 and the body bead 18 or step 20, the lid body 4 or 4 "and body body 2 preferably being joined together while the sealing compound is still liquid Bactericidal treatment of the sealing compound, for example with ascorbic acid, can effectively prevent the penetration of the seal by bacteria.
Regardless of whether a sealing compound 22 is used or not, the cover body 4 or 4 'can, however, be used again in any case in order to close the pressure cover box again. This also opens up the possibility of using the inventive pressure lid can (as well as the pressure lid can according to main patent application P 40 29 146.4) several times, possibly in the form of reusable packaging.
Die Darstellungen in Fig. 3 und 4 zeigen den Vorgang des erstmaligen automatisierten Verschließens der erfindungsge- - 73 and 4 show the process of the first automated closing of the - 7th
For this purpose, the cover body 4 is first inserted under prestress into the closure head 30 of a closing device. In this state, the diameter of the cover is reduced to such an extent that the engagement lip 8 is arranged on the entire peripheral edge of the cover body in the position shown in FIG. 3 at a slight distance from the upper end 13 of the peripheral edge flange 10. When the closure head 30 moves deeper, the engagement lip and the chamfered inner peripheral surface 12 of the peripheral edge flange 10 collide with one another, in which case any excess filler material is squeezed out.
When the closure head moves deeper, the Umfangs¬ is edge flange 10 about an axis which lies approximately in the region of the hull bead 18, pressed over its entire circumference to the outside, first the engagement lip 8 itself and subsequently by the relevant annular extension 32 of the closure head 30 (see Fig. 4). If the engagement lip 8 is located at the level of the space between the peripheral edge flange 10 and the fuselage bead 18, into which the sealing compound 22 has preferably been introduced while still in a liquid state, the closure head 30 moves by actuating the ejector 34, which is located on the upper end 13 the peripheral edge flange 10 supports, again upwards, the cover body 4 now resiliently engages the peripheral edge flange 10 in the manner shown in FIG. 1 and together with the plasticizing sealing compound 22 forms a hermetic seal of the pressure lid box.
If the pressure lid according to the invention is pressed in as a container closure when the can filler is filled for the first time, the dome space, which is free of product, can be filled with steam by a lance at the moment of pressing in, with a corresponding lid shape. The condensation of the steam leads to a negative pressure in the container, which pulls the lid onto the area of the fuselage element 6 covered with sealing compound 22.
When using a lid body 4 or 4 1 , means for a suitable pressure reduction can be built into the can during the sterilization in order to reduce an overpressure resulting from air or gas. Such an integrated, semi-permeable pressure relief valve (a so-called coffee valve) and its mode of operation are shown in FIGS. 5 and 6. When the can is closed without excess pressure, the membrane 42 of the excess pressure valve 40 lies sealingly on the sealing surface 44 and thereby covers the openings 46 to the interior of the can (FIG. 5). If an overpressure arises in the can (for example during sterilization), the membrane 42 is lifted from the sealing surface 44 in the area of the openings 46, so that the expanding gas can flow out of the interior of the can through the openings 46 and 48 and thus the excess pressure created inside the can is reduced.
The features of the invention disclosed in the above description, in the drawing and in the claims can be essential both individually and in any combination for the implementation of the invention in its various embodiments.
