Definitions
- the invention relates to the calibration cycle for an ANC system (Active Noise Control System) with at least one loudspeaker and at least one microphone.
- ANC system Active Noise Control System
- the calibration cycle is necessary to optimize the system properties. It should conveniently be repeated every now and then. In this way, the complex transfer function between loudspeakers on the one hand and microphones on the other is determined, which are then simulated in a control algorithm using an adaptive filter and make the ANC system optimally functional. It will be convenient to repeat this from time to time so as not to waste any potential in the function of the ANC system. On the other hand, the associated noise is perceived by the driver as unpleasant, which speaks against repetitions of the calibration cycle. However, if the operating parameters of the vehicle change, a new calibration cycle is necessary and should disturb the passengers as little as possible.
- FIG. 1 shows the circuit diagram for an ANC system for the calibration cycle.
- the loudspeaker 1 outputs an uncorrelated acoustic signal to the microphone 2 with a downstream amplifier via a filter amplifier 11.
- the adaptive filter 3 connected in parallel to this path has a complex frequency response which is obtained from the calibration cycle which is obtained in the switching block correlation 4 for filter setting. Ideally, the value 0 remains at the summing point 5.
- the system is calibrated. Should another passenger get on or other operating parameters change, a new calibration cycle is necessary.
- An adaptation of the radio signal to the conditions of the subsequent network is identified by 6. This can be a level or runtime adjustment.
- the logic circuit 7 which can be a summer or modulator or multiplexer, the noise signal is fed to the adapted radio signal.
- Reference numeral 8 shows a summer. Since the input signal 9 at the correlation circuit 4 consists essentially of two components, the adapted radio signal for elimination is supplied to it at 10.
- the entertainment signal can be used as a calibration signal or an uncorrelated signal which is mixed into the entertainment signal. It can be added to the entertainment signal additively or multiplicatively. The entertainment signal can be completely or partially masked by the entertainment signal. A Dirac shock can also be used as a calibration signal be used. In addition, the entertainment signal can also be a special piece of music that is played via the car radio or via the cassette recorder or via a CD player or a memory chip.
- the loudspeakers or microphones instead of the loudspeakers or microphones, other types of actuators or sensors can be used.
- the radio signal instead of the radio signal, another noise or a different sound can be used to mask the calibration signal, which due to its properties is perceived as less disturbing than the calibration signal.

Abstract
