Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an automatic watch with double-sided mechanical movement, that is to say comprising a double display each arranged on one face of the watch.
  • Watches with double display, two-sided are known, but they are either provided with an electromechanical quartz movement, or they comprise two distinct movements back to back.
  • Patent application EP 334,088 discloses an electromechanical automatic watch, the movement of which includes a timer actuating a switch cooperating with a dial.
  • the oscillating weight is pivoted concentrically with the switch using a ball bearing, the internal cage of which is fixed on a barrel giving passage to the barrels supporting the hands as well as to the shaft driving the minute hand.
  • the mass of automatic winding is visible and obscures part of the dial.
  • watches with double display are known, in particular those described in patents CH 57805 and DE 579364 have a through axis which carries a hand from a first display and serves as a power take-off for driving the second. display.
  • the document DE 1293365 describes a winding stem making it possible to also actuate a setting pinion. at the offset axis time. Such a device does not allow the independent time setting of the two switches.
  • the object of the invention is to produce a dual display movement which can be adjusted separately, and this in a watch of the conventional type where the automatic winding mass is invisible.
  • the present invention relates to the realization of a mechanical automatic movement causing two displays arranged on either side of the movement which is distinguished by the characteristics listed in claim 1 and which overcomes the aforementioned drawbacks.
  • the invention also relates to a mechanism for setting the time for a watch as defined in claim 8.
  • Figure 1 is a perspective view of the front of the movement of the watch according to the invention.
  • Figure 2 is a perspective view of the back of the movement of the watch according to the invention.
  • Figure 3 is a partial section of the movement with its traditional display.
  • FIG. 4 is a section showing the timer and part of the mechanism for setting the time of the additional display driven by the clockwork.
  • Figure 5 is a plan view of the additional timer.
  • FIGS 6 and 7 partially illustrate the time setting mechanism of the additional display.
  • the watch includes a mechanical automatic movement having a barrel 1, the toothing of the cage of which meshes with a center pinion 2 carrying a carriageway 3 making a complete revolution in one hour and itself carrying the hand of the minutes 4.
  • the center pinion 2 is pivoted using bearings between two bridges or plates 5,6.
  • This center pinion 2 is drilled axially right through and this bore serves as a bearing for a seconds axis 7, passing right through the center pinion and one end of which carries the seconds hand 8.
  • a mobile pivoted between the bridges 5, 6 has a pinion 9 engaged with a toothed zone 10 integral with the center pinion 2 and a wheel 11 engaged with a pinion 12 integral with the seconds axis 7. The reduction thus produced is such that the seconds axis performs one revolution in one minute.
  • Pavement 3 has a toothing 13 kinematically connected by an intermediate mobile, pinion wheel, not shown, to the hour wheel 14, located just under the dial 15, pivoted on the carriageway 3 and carrying the hour hand 16.
  • the reduction introduced by this kinematic link is such that the hour wheel performs one revolution in twelve hours.
  • the time setting of this first conventional timer is carried out by the winding stem, not illustrated, which in the pulled time setting position drives the pinion 17 by a gear train meshing with the hour wheel 14 .
  • This movement naturally includes a conventional regulating train comprising a spiral balance 18 and an escapement.
  • This automatic movement also includes a winding mass 19 pivoted in the center of the movement, coaxial with the seconds axis 7, using a ball bearing 20 whose fixed internal cage 21 is mounted on a barrel 22 to the using a nut 23, this barrel being driven out on a bridge 24.
  • the outer cage 25 of the ball bearing 20 carries the automatic winding weight 19 and is provided with a toothing in engagement with a ratchet wheel 26 driving the pinion 27 of the axis of the barrel in a single direction of rotation.
  • the barrel 22 carrying the internal cage 23 of the ball bearing 20 of the automatic winding mass is axially pierced right through and gives passage to the seconds axis 7 which is extended beyond this barrel and whose end serves as PTO for the second additional movement timer.
  • the seconds axis 7 is traversing and carries a seconds hand at each of its ends.
  • a pinion 28 is fixed on the end 7 ′ of the seconds axis 7, axially passing through the ball bearing of the oscillating mass 19.
  • This pinion 28 passes through an additional plate 29.
  • This additional plate 29 carries a hollow timer axis additional 30 extending coaxially with the seconds axis 7,7 'and crossing the second dial 31.
  • the end 7 ′ of the seconds axis 7,7 ′ carries a second seconds hand 32.
  • An additional carriageway 33 is pivoted on the hollow axis 30 and carries a minute wheel 37 engaged with an intermediate wheel 48 ( Figure 5) which meshes with the pinion 34 of a mobile pivoted between the additional plate 29 and a bridge 35.
  • This mobile has a wheel 36 engaged with the pinion 28 secured to the seconds axis 7.7. The reduction is such that the minute wheel 37 rotates in one hour.
  • the additional carriageway 33 still carries a second minute hand 33 'and a pinion 38 in engagement with the wheel 39 of a mobile pivoted on the additional plate 29, the pinion 40 of which meshes with the additional hour wheel 41 secured to a barrel 42 pivoted on the additional carriageway 33 and the end of which carries a second hour hand 43.
  • This kinematic connection causes the additional hour wheel 41 to make one revolution in twelve hours.
  • This timer or additional display mounted on the additional plate 29 and the bridge 35 can be designed as a module coming to be fixed on the movement and giving it a double display driven by the same movement. These displays are therefore necessarily in synchronism although they can display different times of course.
  • this additional display designed in the form of a removable and interchangeable module may include other indications such as moon phases, tides, perpetual calendar, etc.
  • the additional timer also includes a time-setting mechanism which includes a pinion 44 pivoted between the additional plate 29 and a bridge 45, the teeth of which cooperate with the face teeth, in crown, 46 of a sliding pinion 47 mounted to slide on an axis 49 integral with a casing circle or a plate 50.
  • This sliding pinion 47 has a groove 51 and a peripheral toothing 52.
  • the actuation mechanism of this sliding pinion 47 is particular so that the second time-setting rod for this additional display is, for aesthetic reasons, also located in the median plane of the movement or at least in the same plan as the first winding or time-setting stem.
  • this second time-setting rod 55 is offset parallel to the axis of the sliding pinion 47.
  • This time-setting rod 55 slides in a socket 56 attached to the plate 50 and has a square of drive 57 sliding in a pinion 58 in engagement with the peripheral toothing 52 of the sliding pinion 47.
  • the end of the time-setting rod slides in a socket 59 integral with the plate 50 which also serves for axial positioning of the pinion 58 housed between this plate and the socket 56.
  • the time-setting rod 55 is integral with a pin 60, perpendicular to the axis of the rod and passing through the sleeve 56 by a slot 61.
  • This pin 60 is mounted on a rocker 62 pivoted at 63 and one of which end has a spout 64 cooperating with a jumper 65.
  • the other end of the rocker 62 carries a pin 66 engaged in the groove 51 of the sliding pinion 47.
  • the pin or screw 66 is screwed into the rocker 62 and fixes a leaf spring 67, the lower part of which comprises a slot 68 disposed in a groove in the head of the pin 60. This makes it possible by acting with a tool on the lower end of this blade 67 to release the pin 60 from the time setting rod 55 which can then be removed for disassembly of the movement.
  • time-setting rod 55 could in additional axial positions activate the time setting of the first display and the manual winding of the movement.
  • the traversing axis could be the one carrying the minute hand.
