Definitions
- the invention relates to a method and a device for the stripping of laminated film blanks which are provided with incisions in a cover film glued to a backing adhesive layer with a backing paper, which cutouts form an advertising lettering or advertising graphic designed for self-adhesive attachment to an advertising surface.
- the film material used in the production of so-called film fonts, cut to a sheet or piece size usually consists of a very thin and therefore extremely flexible, mostly rolled or cast and therefore in any case also shrinkable plastic film, which is used as a cover film over a back Pressure sensitive adhesive layer is laminated onto a carrier paper.
- shrinkable plastic film which is used as a cover film over a back Pressure sensitive adhesive layer is laminated onto a carrier paper.
- the invention has for its object to provide a method and an apparatus for the stripping of laminated film blanks, in which the peeling the remainder of the film from the backing paper with the greatest possible protection of the advertising lettering or advertising graphics remaining on the backing paper can be carried out mechanically with simple means and thus less costly.
- the device designed for stripping laminated film blanks has a transport table 2 held by a stand 1.
- the transport table 2 is provided for a support of the sheet blanks 3 having a sheet or piece size and their successive transport in a predetermined transport direction 4.
- Each film blank 3 consists of a cover film, which is laminated onto a backing paper via a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on the back.
- the cover film is provided with cuts which form an advertising lettering or advertising graphic which remains on the backing paper when the film remainder of the cover film adjacent to the cuts is pulled off the backing paper.
- the removal of the film residue from such laminated film blanks is understood as "stripping" because the advertising lettering or advertising graphics remaining on the backing paper of each film blank is exposed or “stripped” for later self-adhesive attachment to an advertising surface.
- a deflection edge 8 is formed with the tip of an angled guide plate 9, on which the remainder of the film of the cover film is pulled off the carrier paper in cooperation with a transfer device 10. During this “stripping”, the advertising lettering or advertising graphic formed by cutting the cover film remains on the carrier paper, which is removed behind the deflection edge 8 in the predetermined transport direction 4.
- the transfer device 10 is formed with a rubber-elastic pad 11, which is arranged on a transfer carriage 12.
- the transfer carriage 12 is movable along a guide rail 13, which thus defines a transfer direction branched off from the predetermined transport direction 4 on the deflection edge 8, in which the remainder of the film is pulled off the carrier paper of each film blank 3.
- This removal of the film residue from the backing paper is obtained in that the rubber-elastic cushion 11 is initially set in such a position relative to the deflection edge 8 that when a film cut arrives, its cover film comes into contact with the cushion 11 first.
- a brush 8 ' is expediently arranged in the vicinity of the deflection edge 8 which is acted on the cover film of each film blank in such a way that the separation of the film residue from the advertising lettering or advertising graphics is promoted during the removal of the film residue.
- a heat channel 5 ' is expediently arranged in the vicinity of the cutting device 5 in order to achieve shrinkage of the cover film and thus an increase in the cutting width of the incisions forming the advertising lettering or advertising graphics even before the film remnant is removed.
- the transfer device 10 can be moved along the guide rail 13 up to an end position in which the film remainder 15 adhered to the pad 11 with its leading edge region is transferred to a remainder roll 16.
- the transfer is obtained in that the transfer carriage 12, which is shown for this end position with a relative position 12 ', is pivoted about an axis parallel to the axis of rotation of the residual roller 16. Because during this pivoting of the transfer carriage 12, the cushion 11 'is also brought into a changed relative position to the residual roll 16, the film residue 15 with its rear-side pressure-sensitive adhesive layer can thus be placed against the residual roll 16.
- the guide rail 13 is expediently pivotable about an axis 17 provided near the deflection edge 8. This pivotability of the guide rail 13 can, on the other hand, also be used for the secure interaction of the transfer carriage 12 and its cushion 11 with the deflection edge 8 at the time when the film residue 15 is taken over at the branching of the transport direction 4 of the film blanks 3.
- the residual roller 16 is mounted with its axis of rotation 18 on a single link 19 of a link arrangement which also has a second single link 20 for the rotatable mounting of a drive roller 21 which bears against the envelope surface of the residual roller 16.
- the handlebar arrangement formed with the two single-cell cores 19, 20 is mounted on the stand 1 via an axis of rotation 22 of the single-link 20 in such a way that the axis of rotation 18 of the residual roller 16 lies by means of a sliding block 23 along a slot guide 24 which is angularly aligned with the guide rail 13 of the transfer device 10 can be postponed.
- This possibility of displacement of the axis of rotation 18 results in the maintenance of a constant drive ratio for the drive roller 21 with respect to the transport speed of the film blanks 3, taking into account a growing diameter of the residual roll 16 during the filling with the film residues.
- the guide slot 24 is also formed with an open end so that the residual roller 16 can be removed after reaching a predetermined filling level and thus also a predetermined maximum diameter and replaced by an empty new residual roller.
- the various drives, not shown in the drawing, for an operation of the cutting device 5 synchronized with the feeding of the film cuts 3, for the rotation of the feed rollers 6, 7, for the reciprocating movement of the transfer carriage 12, for the optionally provided pivoting movement of the Guide rail 13 and for the drive roller 21 for rotating the residual roller 16 can be given any configuration in conjunction with a suitable control.
- the The device can be supplemented with a suitable collecting device for the carrier papers of the film blanks 3, which are removed behind the branching formed with the deflection edge 8 with the advertising lettering or advertising graphics remaining thereon in the predetermined transport direction 4.
- the collecting device can ultimately also be combined with an application device with which the advertising or advertising graphics are transferred from the carrier papers to individual transfer foils, which are used as aids for the self-adhesive application of the advertising or advertising graphics to an advertising surface.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method and a device for the stripping of laminated film blanks which are provided with incisions in a cover film glued to a backing adhesive layer with a backing paper, which cutouts form an advertising lettering or advertising graphic designed for self-adhesive attachment to an advertising surface.
The film material used in the production of so-called film fonts, cut to a sheet or piece size, usually consists of a very thin and therefore extremely flexible, mostly rolled or cast and therefore in any case also shrinkable plastic film, which is used as a cover film over a back Pressure sensitive adhesive layer is laminated onto a carrier paper. With the mostly colored cover film of the individual film cuts, advertising lettering or advertising graphics are designed individually according to certain specifications, this training often being computer-controlled using special contour knives and occasionally also using glow wires or a laser beam.
So that an advertising lettering or advertising graphic formed in the cover film of such film cuts can now be attached to an advertising surface via the back pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, the film remainder adjacent to the incisions of the cover film must first be removed from the backing paper of each film cut. This peeling off of a film remnant is understood according to the definition as "stripping of laminated film blanks", because in this way the exposure of the advertising lettering or advertising graphics remaining on the carrier paper is obtained.
So far, the stripping of laminated film blanks has only been carried out manually. The main problem here is that the film residue at the incisions is cleanly removed from the contours of the advertising lettering or advertising graphics remaining on the backing paper, and so there is no damage to the contours during this removal, which can easily happen, in particular, if the advertising lettering composed letters are shown individually or the advertising graphic has a more complicated cut contour with frequently changing direction changes. It must therefore be assumed that the film blanks must be handled with care and require a high level of manual dexterity to obtain flawless advertising lettering and advertising graphics, with which it is readily apparent in this connection that this previously manual stripping of laminated film cuts is very cost-intensive.
From DE-C-2 212 995 a method for producing self-adhesive labels is known, in which the label material is applied together with an adhesive layer to a carrier tape which is passed between an unwinding roller and a winding roller through a punching station, in which the labels are removed the label material are punched out. A punched grid which is formed at the same time during this punching out of the labels is pulled off the carrier tape with the aid of a deflecting roller before winding up the carrier tape with the labels remaining thereon, and is wound up on a separate residual roll. In this method, which can thus be carried out continuously, it is not particularly difficult, because of the greater layer thickness of the label material, to pull off the leadframe forming during the punching out of the labels from the carrier tape without causing damage to the labels remaining on the carrier tape, because of the fact that they are As a result of this greater layer thickness, the correspondingly more rigid behavior better withstands the separating forces which occur on the contours of the labels when the lead frame is pulled off.
The invention has for its object to provide a method and an apparatus for the stripping of laminated film blanks, in which the peeling the remainder of the film from the backing paper with the greatest possible protection of the advertising lettering or advertising graphics remaining on the backing paper can be carried out mechanically with simple means and thus less costly.
This object is solved by the features of
An embodiment of the device according to the invention is shown schematically in the drawing and is explained in more detail below.
The device designed for stripping laminated film blanks has a transport table 2 held by a stand 1. The transport table 2 is provided for a support of the sheet blanks 3 having a sheet or piece size and their successive transport in a predetermined transport direction 4. Each film blank 3 consists of a cover film, which is laminated onto a backing paper via a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on the back. The cover film is provided with cuts which form an advertising lettering or advertising graphic which remains on the backing paper when the film remainder of the cover film adjacent to the cuts is pulled off the backing paper. The removal of the film residue from such laminated film blanks is understood as "stripping" because the advertising lettering or advertising graphics remaining on the backing paper of each film blank is exposed or "stripped" for later self-adhesive attachment to an advertising surface.
In order to make it easy to pull off the remainder of the film from the carrier paper of each film blank 3, its leading edge 3 'is first cut by means of a
Behind the two feed rollers 6, 7, a
The
Although the interaction of the
The
The
The various drives, not shown in the drawing, for an operation of the
