- the weft yarn clamping members are meant to clamp the weft yarn, to hold it tight while the carrying gripper moves to the centre of the shed, and then release it to the drawing gripper during weft exchange at the centre of the shed. It is evident, therefore, that the clamping action should be positively reliable and, at the same time, reversible; in other words, it should be strong enough to overcome the resistance opposed by the unwinding weft yarn as the carrying gripper moves along the shed, but also soft enough to release the weft yarn when a sufficiently strong pulling action is positively imparted thereon by the drawing gripper. It is also indispensable for the clamping and release of the weft yarn to take place very smoothly, in order to prevent defibering or tearing thereof.
- the carrying gripper is equipped with devices to open the clamping members, which are operated each time the gripper moves out of the shed, so that the clamping members can be kept perfectly clean, for instance by blowing a compressed air jet.

- Adjusting means are provided to regulate the pressure force of the spring 8 acting onto the movable clamping member 6, said means essentially consisting of a wedge element 12 - shown more clearly in fig. 4 - the inclined surface of which cooperates with the underlying overturned V portion of the spring 8.
- Said wedge element 12 is fixed to the gripper body 1 by screw means 13 housed into a longitudinal slot 14 provided in said element. By loosening the screw means 13, the wedge element 12 can thus be shifted lengthwise, thereby compressing - to a smaller or greater extent - with its inclined surface the spring 8, and thus altering the intensity of its pressure force. More specifically, when the wedge element is shifted in the direction of arrow B (fig. 4), the pressure force imparted by the spring 8 in the direction of arrow C increases, and vice-versa in the contrary case.
- the carrying gripper described herein comprises no hinged or sliding joints to connect its reciprocally movable component parts, any problems deriving from slacks between said parts, with the respective wears and tolerances, are thereby eliminated.
- the carrying gripper of the present invention requires neither maintenance nor lubrication. Furthermore, it can easily be adjusted, both by regulating the intensity of the pressure force of the spring 8 - by acting on the wedge element 12 - and by regulating the distribution of said pressure force, by suitably modifying the shape of the end part 9 of said spring 8.

Claims (12)
- Zubringergreifer für schützenlose Webmaschinen - von der Art, bei dem der Schußfaden zwischen einem Paar von Klemmelementen (5, 6) eingeklemmt wird, wobei wenigstens eines der Klemmelemente flexibel und unter der Wirkung eines außerhalb des Greifers liegenden Steuermittels beweglich ist, um die Klemmzone zu öffnen und deren Reinigung zu erlauben, wobei das flexible und bewegliche Klemmelement aus einem Blatt (6) besteht - dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Blatt (6) fest mit einem Ende (6b) des Greiferkörpers (1) verbunden ist und gegen das feste Klemmelement (5) mittels Federmitteln (8) gedrückt bleibt, die auf dessen freies Ende (6a) drücken, und dadurch, daß ein steifer Hebel (10) fest mit dem Blatt (6) verbunden ist und durch das außerhalb liegende Steuermittel betrieben wird, um so das flexible Blatt (6) weg von dem festen Klemmelement (5) zu bewegen.
- Zubringergreifer nach Anspruch 1, weiter mit Einstellmitteln (12 - 14) zum Ändern der Druckkraft des auf das bewegliche Klemmelement (6) wirkenden Federmittels (8).
- Zubringergreifer nach Anspruch 1, wobei das flexible Blatt (6) aus einem metallischen Material ist und an seinem freien Ende (6a) wie die Spitze eines Skis gebogen ist.
- Zubringergreifer nach Anspruch 1, wobei das freie Ende (6a) des Blatts (6) durch einen Längsschlitz in zwei Teile geteilt ist.
- Zubringergreifer nach Anspruch 1, wobei das flexible Blatt (6) an dem Greiferkörper (1) mittels Schraubenmitteln (7) verankert ist.
- Zubringergreifer nach Anspruch 1, wobei das Federmittel aus einer Blattfeder (8) besteht, die als ein gekipptes V geformt ist, das an einem Ende an dem Greiferkörper (1) befestigt ist und mit seinem anderen Ende (9) auf dem freien Ende (6a) des beweglichen Klemmelements (6) ruht.
- Zubringergreifer nach Anspruch 6, wobei die Blattfeder (8) an dem Greiferkörper (1) an demselben Punkt und mittels der gleichen Mittel (7) wie das bewegte Klemmelement (6) befestigt ist.
- Zubringergreifer nach Anspruch 6, wobei das freie Ende (9) der Blattfeder (8) durch einen Längsschlitz in zwei Teile aufgeteilt ist, die gegebenenfalls von unterschiedlicher Länge sind.
- Zubringergreifer nach Anspruch 1, wobei der Hebel (10) auf einer im wesentlichen mittigen Zone des Blatts (6) zwischen seinem gebogenen Ende (6b) und seinem freien Ende (6a) befestigt ist.
- Zubringergreifer nach Anspruch 9, wobei der Hebel (10) auf dem Blatt (6) in Übereinstimmung mit wenigstens zwei Punkten (11) befestigt ist.
- Zubringergreifer nach Anspruch 2 und 6, wobei die Einstellmittel aus einem keilförmigen Element (12) bestehen, das entlang dem Greiferkörper (1) gleitet und dazu eingerichtet ist, willkürlich an einer Position befestigt zu werden, wobei die geneigte Fläche des Elements (12) mit der geneigten Fläche des gekippten V-förmigen Abschnitts der Blattfeder (8) zusammenwirkt.
- Zubringergreifer nach Anspruch 11, wobei das Keilelement (12) an dem Greiferkörper (1) mittels Schraubenmittel (13) befestigt ist, die auf einem Längsschlitz (14) des Elements eingebracht sind.
