Definitions
- the invention relates to a water fire extinguisher and more specifically relates to the spray head of extinguishing agent.
- the extinguishers used until now consist of a reservoir filled with fluid - generally water - which is closed at its top by a distribution head having mechanical means capable of admitting water into a spray head as soon as a user acted on the trigger gun. Water is sprayed outside by an outlet diffuser whose role is to orient and focus the jet of extinguishing agent to increase its range.
- the known diffusers however have some drawbacks. Apart from their brittleness to impact, they are often obstructed, especially when using a spray can itself to clear, for example, calcined products. And then the flow rates and the ranges of the jets emitted by the usual rods are insufficient while the outlet pressures could allow better performance.
- the invention provides a spray head equipped with a diffuser of new design which avoids the aforementioned drawbacks and considerably improves the spraying range.
- the main object of the invention therefore consists of a sprinkler spray head having the characteristics according to claim 1.
- the emission orifice is delimited by an inner ring whose inner diameter is substantially half the diameter of the outer crown, a circular groove being formed between the two crowns.
- the mouths of the orifices on the downstream side of the pellet being located side by side and at the center of said pellet.
- the angle of convergence of the two emission orifices is approximately 15 ° relative to the axis of the emission conduit
- the spray rod 1 shown in Figure 1 is advantageously made of metal which allows it to be used if necessary as a cutter. It has at one end of a nozzle 2 for connection to a trigger blowgun and at the other end of a diffuser defined as a whole by the reference 3. On the side of the rod is provided a hook 4. According to a variant not shown, the diffuser 3 is connected by a suitable nozzle, directly at the end of the blow gun.
- the shape and structure of the diffuser 3 appear more clearly in FIG. 2. Its general outlet axis forms an angle ⁇ of 60 ° with the conduit 5 of the rod 1.
- the outer body of the diffuser itself has a general shape slightly tapered in decreasing diameter ending in an opening delimited by a outer ring 6. Set back therefrom the emission orifice 7 is delimited by an inner ring 17 whose internal diameter on the one hand is substantially half the diameter of the crown 6, and on the other hand is substantially equal to the height of the withdrawal relative to the outer ring 6. A circular groove 8 is formed between the two rings.
- the transmission orifice is supplied by a transmission conduit 9 which communicates with the conduit 5
- a diffusion patch 10 better visible in FIGS. 3 and 4.
- This patch is a small plastic part of general cylindrical shape crossed by two small orifices 11 converging downstream of the diffuser. These orifices open upstream between two lateral wings 12 of the patch, two small shoulders 13 of which serve to position the patch at the upstream inlet of the emission conduit.
- the two mouths 11a of the orifices 11 are spaced from one another while on the downstream side the mouths 11b are located side by side, in the center of the patch.
- the angle of convergence of the two emission orifices 11 is approximately 15 ° relative to the axis of the conduit.
- the patch 10 has a thickness which represents and occupies approximately one fifth of the total length of the emission conduit 9. Since it is housed at the bottom of said conduit, this means that the jets of extinguishing agent coming from the orifices 11 converge inside the emission conduit, quite far from its orifice 7. This creates a plentiful effect of the diffuser and makes it possible to increase the range of the jet with an improved regular flow.
- the rod 1 itself is made of metal makes it more resistant and insensitive to heat, and it can be used to stir up debris without risk of obstruction of the diffuser, because the outer ring 6 ensures effective protection of the emitting orifice set back.

Description
The invention relates to a water fire extinguisher and more specifically relates to the spray head of extinguishing agent. The extinguishers used until now consist of a reservoir filled with fluid - generally water - which is closed at its top by a distribution head having mechanical means capable of admitting water into a spray head as soon as a user acted on the trigger gun. Water is sprayed outside by an outlet diffuser whose role is to orient and focus the jet of extinguishing agent to increase its range.
The known diffusers however have some drawbacks. Apart from their brittleness to impact, they are often obstructed, especially when using a spray can itself to clear, for example, calcined products. And then the flow rates and the ranges of the jets emitted by the usual rods are insufficient while the outlet pressures could allow better performance.
This is why the invention provides a spray head equipped with a diffuser of new design which avoids the aforementioned drawbacks and considerably improves the spraying range.
The main object of the invention therefore consists of a sprinkler spray head having the characteristics according to
According to a particular characteristic of the invention, the mouths of the orifices on the downstream side of the pellet being located side by side and at the center of said pellet.
Avantageusement, l'angle de convergence des deux orifices d'émission est d'environ 15° par rapport à l'axe du conduit d'émissionAdvantageously, the angle of convergence of the two emission orifices is approximately 15 ° relative to the axis of the emission conduit
- Figure 1 an overview of a spray head mounted at the end of a cane.
- Figure 2 a detail view in section of the diffuser.
- Figures 3 and 4 views in vertical and cross section on a larger scale of the diffusion patch.
The
At the base of the emission conduit, in the immediate vicinity of the junction elbow with the
The fact that the
