- the screw sleeve 50 engages in a circumferential groove 63 of the shut-off element, the overhang of this engagement being dimensioned such that a snap-in of both parts made of plastic is made possible by elastic material deformation and corresponding flank design.
- This engagement between the screw sleeve 50 and the shut-off element 60 makes it possible to rotate the shut-off element 60 with respect to the retaining nut 50 and the neck 31 with a correspondingly selected axial compressive force.
- the neck 31b of the cartridge head 30 is at its Shut-off element 60 facing end closed with a bottom 33, in which two openings 34 are provided, each opening being on one side of the web 32b and correspondingly connected to the respective material chamber (see also FIG. 2).
- a bottom 64 of the cylinder 60 which forms the actual shut-off element has openings 65 which are congruent with respect to position and shape with respect to the openings 34 and which are shown one above the other in FIGS. 1 and 3; this corresponds to the open position of the shutoff element 60.
- shut-off element 60 shows the closed position of the shut-off element 60.
- the shut-off element 60 is rotated through 90 ° about its longitudinal axis, as a result of which the corresponding openings 34 of the head piece 30 and openings 65 of the shut-off element 60 no longer communicate and are therefore closed.
- the shut-off device 60 can be rotated in a defined manner, it is subjected to a positive guidance shown in FIGS. 5 and 6. 5, the shut-off element 60 has at its lower end two diametrically opposite projecting stop lugs 66 which engage in corresponding guide grooves 35 (FIG. 6) embedded in the bottom 33 of the neck 31b and, after a corresponding rotation of the shut-off member 30, abut against the boundaries thereof, so that defined open and closed positions are given.
- FIG. 6 shows another embodiment of the coaxial cartridge with a closure element 60 according to the invention.
- the only difference from the embodiment shown in FIG. 1 is that the circular web 32b is practically completely missing, but instead the shut-off cylinder 60 extends down to the plane formed by the cartridge head piece 30.
- This embodiment is preferable to that shown in FIG. 1 for reasons of injection molding with regard to the head piece 30.

Description
The invention relates to multicomponent cartridges for plastic compositions, such as two-component adhesives or sealant compositions, in which the components are stored separately from one another before use and are only mixed together for use.
In particular, the invention relates to a multi-chamber cartridge made of plastic injection molding for two- or multi-component plastic masses, with at least two cartridge tube wall parts arranged one inside the other to form at least two chambers for receiving one material component each, an end wall part arranged at the front end of the cartridge tube wall parts, on which a mouthpiece for Output of the material components is formed from the cartridge, and with pistons inserted at the rear end of the cartridge tube wall parts for expressing the material components. A multi-chamber cartridge of this type, which corresponds to the preamble of claim 1, is known from EP-A-105181.
Such as two-chamber cartridges for two-component compositions with coaxially arranged cartridge tube wall parts are already known, see, for example, US Pat. No. 2,826,339 (Maillard), US Pat. No. 4,366,919 (Anderson), and US Pat. No. 4,846,373 (Penn, Anderson). In the known two-chamber cartridges, the tube wall parts and the end wall part are in one piece with one another in an injection molding process made of plastic manufactured, which requires a correspondingly complicated and expensive injection molding tool.
The known two-chamber cartridges according to US Pat. No. 2,826,339 and US Pat. No. 4,846,373 are also provided with shut-off valves at the outlet which are intended to prevent the material from flowing back when the pressure on the pistons is removed. In US Pat. No. 2,826,339, these shut-off valves are designed as check valves and are arranged separately in the outlet channel of each chamber. The shut-off valve described in U.S. Patent 4,846,373 has a rotatable valve plug arranged transversely in a neck extension of the cartridge end wall and having two parallel transverse bores which can be brought into and out of register with the two outlet channels of the two chambers by rotating the valve plug.
The aim of the invention is to improve a multi-chamber cartridge of the type mentioned so that it can be manufactured more easily and with simpler injection molding tools.
Another object of the invention is to be able to manufacture two-chamber cartridges for different mixing ratios of the two components with a reasonable amount of injection mold.
A still further object of the invention is to provide an improved shut-off valve at the outlet of a multi-chamber cartridge.
The invention accordingly includes a multi-chamber cartridge made of plastic injection molding for two- or multi-component plastic masses, with at least two cartridge tube wall parts arranged one inside the other to form at least two chambers for accommodating one material component each, an end wall part arranged at the front end of the cartridge tube wall parts, on which a piece for dispensing the Material components formed from the cartridge, pistons used at the rear end of the cartridge tube wall parts for expressing the material components, the end wall part being designed as a separate head piece and the cartridge tube wall parts likewise being each made separately, and wherein snap connections are provided for connecting the cartridge tube wall parts to the head piece.
Due to the multi-chamber cartridge according to the invention, the cartridge tube wall parts and the cartridge end wall part can each be manufactured separately, as a result of which the required injection molding tools can be made very simple and inexpensive. The injection molding tools for the tube wall parts do not require any side shift functions, and the need for remaining side shift functions is reduced to the injection molding tool for the relatively small cartridge end wall part.
Furthermore, the multi-chamber cartridge according to the invention offers the possibility of reacting much more flexibly and quickly to short-term changes in the cartridge mixing ratio, for example in the case of a double coaxial cartridge, only the diameter of the inner tube of the cartridge, that is to say only the relevant simple tool, being changed or newly built. In particular, the end wall part can be designed for a number of different inner tube diameters which can be optionally fitted.
The undercuts required to implement the snap-in technique are dimensionally designed so that they can be produced in an injection molding tool without side-shift functions on the one hand and that snap-on action can be achieved by elastic material deformation on the other. Accordingly, the radial expansion of the undercuts is in the tenths of a millimeter range.
Furthermore, the invention includes a multi-chamber cartridge made of plastic injection molding for two- or multi-component plastic masses, with at least two Cartridge wall parts arranged one inside the other to form at least two chambers for receiving one material component each, an end wall part arranged at the front end of the cartridge pipe wall parts, on which a mouthpiece for dispensing the material components from the cartridge is formed, which is connected to each chamber through an outlet opening formed in the front wall part , Piston used at the rear end of the cartridge tube wall parts for pressing out the material components, and a mouthpiece shut-off device associated with the mouthpiece for optional closing or opening of the mouthpiece, which has a shut-off device which can be rotated between an open position and a closed position, the shut-off device having a disc which is soft is arranged on the mouthpiece of the cartridge transversely to the material flow direction directly in front of the outlet openings of the mouthpiece and can be rotated about an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the cartridge, and wherein the S disk itself has passage openings which can be brought into and out of coincidence with the outlet openings of the mouthpiece by rotating the disk between the open and closed positions.
In the shut-off device according to the invention, the actuation movement takes place as a rotary movement about an axis lying parallel to the longitudinal axis of the cartridge. This operation of the shut-off device is perceived as pleasant and easy. It can be easily carried out with the hand holding the front end of the cartridge in the spray gun.

The
So that the shut-off
Diese Ausführungsform ist gegenüber der in Fig. 1 dargestellten aus spritzgußtechnischen Gründen bezüglich des Kopfstücks 30 zu bevorzugen.6 shows another embodiment of the coaxial cartridge with a
Instead of the handle element shown in the form of a toggle with two
