Abstract

A telescopic jib for cranes consists of an outer articulation piece which is pivotably mounted on the vehicle or its superstructure and in which several retractable and extendable telescopic sections are held. Each section is provided with bearing arrangements for the section guided in it and can be locked to this section. A hydraulic pressure-medium piston-cylinder unit is provided for the extension and retraction of the individual sections. In order to provide a telescopic jib which has considerable flexural rigidity in its individual sections and is simple and economical to manufacture, the articulation piece and the sections have round profiles.
