Abstract

1423128 Telescopic jib extensions J I CASE CO 29 Oct 1974 [29 Nov 1973] 46733/74 Heading B8B A jib assembly 10 for attachment at 26 to the outer end of crane boom 14 comprises a base section 20 an intermediate section 22 and an outer end section 24. The sections are hollow and are arranged to telescope by a fixed length cable 32 attached at 34 to the outer section 24 and passing, in turn, over pulleys 38, 40 at the opposite ends of the intermediate section 22, over pulleys 46, 58 at the opposite ends of the base section 20, over a reversible drive 50 and pulleys 60, 62 to be attached at 36 to the outer section 24. Portions of the cable 32, i.e. 32a, for the intermediate sections 22, 32b for the base section 20 and 32c for the outer section are all located within the various sections and are parallel to each other and to the longitudinal axis of the jib assembly 10. There may be more than one intermediate section 22.
