Description

The invention relates to a ski binding according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such a ski binding is already known and is described in AT-B-389 453. With this ski binding, difficulties arose in assembly and transport, since, on the one hand, handling of the binding proved to be difficult and, on the other hand, only voluminous packaging of the ski binding was possible due to the one-piece design of the connecting element.

There have also been proposed ski bindings in which the connecting element was split (see technical manual from Atomic-Ess 1989/90). However, the division of the connecting element was carried out here only for the purpose of being able to adapt the binding to different shoe sizes. For this reason, one section had a type of toothed strip with which two bolts of the other section flattened on one side could be brought into or out of engagement. However, the cover had to be removed to adjust the ski binding and put back on after the change. It was necessary to use a screwdriver to unlock and lock the bolts.

A similar type of ski binding with a split connecting element is shown in FIGS. 7 and 8 DE-A-25 54 384 shown. In this binding, the connecting element consists of two sawtooth-like bands made of a stretch-resistant material, one of which is firmly connected to the toe and the other to the heel holder. The two bands can engage in different locking positions and are held together by a snap part in the engagement position.

The invention has for its object to form a ski binding of the type mentioned in such a way that the connecting element is designed to be divided, but that both sections can be easily, i.e. can be connected without a screwdriver.

Weiters wird die Möglichkeit geschaffen, in Verbindung mit einem einzigen Vorderbacken, Fersenhalter für unterschiedliche Skischuhgruppen (z.B. 36 - 38, 39 - 42, 43 - 46) zu verwenden (Modulbauweise).Starting from a ski binding according to the preamble of claim 1, this object is achieved according to the invention by the features of the characterizing part of this claim. The fact that the connection of the two sections by two bolts provided with heads on one section and by keyhole-like recesses in the other section, no tool is required for assembling the ski binding. Furthermore, the possibility is created to use the heel holder for different ski shoe groups (e.g. 36 - 38, 39 - 42, 43 - 46) in connection with a single toe (modular design).

The measure of claim 2 prevents unwanted loosening of the connection of the two sections even with rough treatment during use.

As such, the section of the connecting element that carries the heel holder could be made of a flexible material. However, it has proven to be advantageous to design this subsection in the vertical direction according to claim 3.

The features of claim 4 prevent damage to the top of the ski by the heads of the bolts, the overall height of the entire connecting element remaining constant.

The subject matter of claim 5 enables the ski binding to be adapted to ski shoes of different sizes, even in the rental ski area.

The features of claim 6 provide an additional possibility of adjusting the heel holder relative to the toe.

Fig.2 ist eine Draufsicht zu Fig.1. In the drawing, an example embodiment of the subject of the invention is shown. 1 is a vertical longitudinal central section through the ski binding according to the invention, in which the front jaw and the heel holder are only shown schematically. Figure 2 is a top view of Figure 1. 3 shows a detail of FIG. 1 in a vertical longitudinal central section on a larger scale. Fig. 4 is a view of part of the connecting element from below in the assembled state and Fig. 5 in the exploded state. Both last-mentioned figures are also carried out on a larger scale.

In the figures 1 and 2, a ski binding in its entirety is designated by 1. It is attached to the top 2a of a ski 2. The ski binding 1 comprises a connecting element 3, which is designed, for example, as a metal band, a toe piece 4, which is firmly connected to the connecting element 3, and a heel holder 5, which is secured in a ski-fixed guide rail 6 and secured against lifting in the longitudinal direction of the ski and which Adaptation to different shoe sizes can be locked in different positions with the connecting element 3. The front jaw 4 and the guide rail 6 are fastened to the upper side 2a of the ski 2 by means of screws 7.

The connecting element 3 consists of two sections 3a and 3b, of which one section 3a carries the front jaw 4 and the other section 3b the heel holder 5. The connecting element 3 is provided with a casing 8 in the region of the first subsection 3a. The first section 3a carrying the front jaw 4 has on the underside in its casing 8 in the longitudinal direction of the ski extending recess 8a, in which the free end region of the second section 3b which carries the heel holder 5 can be fixed. For this purpose, the first section 3a carries two bolts 9, which are provided with heads 9a and protrude downwards. The second section 3b, on the other hand, is provided with three keyhole-like recess 10, the narrowed sections 10b of which are directed towards the free end of this section 3b.

The wider partial area of the individual cutouts 10 is designated by 10a. Furthermore, the depth of the recess 8a is greater than or equal to the length of the bolts 9. This prevents friction of the heads 9a of the bolts 9 on the upper side 2a of the ski.

During assembly, the second section 3b with the wider sections 10a is placed on the two bolts 9 by two of the keyhole-like recesses 10 and then moved in the longitudinal direction of the connecting element 3 until the two bolts 9 with their shafts 9b at the ends of the narrowed sections 10b of the two recesses 10 rest. The free end of the second section 3b bears against a stop surface 8b of the casing 8 which runs transversely to the longitudinal direction of the connecting element 3. This is facilitated in that the second section 3b of the connecting element 3 is designed to be resilient in the height direction. As soon as the desired position of the second section 3b with respect to the first section 3a has been reached, the second section 3b snaps into the recess 8a of the casing 8, and the two sections 3a and 3b are immovably fixed to one another.

As can be seen from FIGS. 4 and 5, the two front keyhole-like recesses 10 could also be brought into engagement with the two bolts 9. In order to fix the two sections 3a and 3b immovably against each other in this case as well, two sheaths 8 are different for the first section 3a of the connecting element 3 long, the stop surface 8b having recesses 8a are provided, which correspond to the respectively selected locking positions and are optionally used.

The second section 3b of the connecting element 3, which bears the heel holder, is tapered in its region 11 which extends below the guide rail 6 and is guided so as to be displaceable to a limited extent in the longitudinal direction of the ski between two embossments 7 which hold the screws 7.

It is also possible to provide the second section, which supports the heel holder, at its free end with an angled section which, in the assembled state of the connecting element, engages in a transverse slot in the first section, which carries the toe pieces.
