Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an apparatus for depilatory intended to be held in the hand.
  • the blades are integral with the rod that carries them, so that when this rod slides, the blades move together in parallel to themselves and therefore in principle come simultaneously in contact with the discs for produce a pinch effect capable of removing the hairs of the skin.
  • the blades are thus taken between two series notches made respectively on the hub and on the rod, so that sliding of this rod rotates the blades in the notches of the hub, these as well as those provided on the rod constituting points of articulation.
  • This fixed slot therefore has a role of guiding the bristles towards rotating discs but does not allow to straighten the hairs lying on the skin.
  • protruding beak may irritate or scratch the skin.
  • European patent application EP-A-0 373 032 describes a hair removal device according to the preamble of claim 1, comprising a rotary drum provided with rows of nip blades and skin protection blades with an external contour circular, at least in part.
  • These protective blades are integral in rotation with the drum and extend all around the roller hair removal, 360 °, so as to constitute a virtual protection roller at the periphery of the epilation roller formed by the drum and the blades pinching.
  • these protective blades have the secondary function of serving as a means of combing hair to be depilated.
  • these protective blades may have indentations, or be formed by circular sectors spaced from each other, or be replaced all or in part by these alignments of semi-rigid fingers arranged in planes perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the drum. Discontinuities thus formed in the protective blades allow the hairs to get up which are then combed by the protective blades, which ensures the orientation of the bristles for their nipping by the nipping blades. These means are therefore intended essentially to comb the hair to be depilated, and do not therefore do not constitute proper means able to straighten the hairs for their engagement between the blades of pinching.
  • the object of the present invention is to remedy the drawbacks of known hair removal devices.
  • the invention thus relates to a hair removal device intended to be held in the hand, comprising a series of parallel discs fixed on a hub driven in rotation by an electric motor, pinch blades arranged between the discs, means for bringing said blades into contact with the periphery of the discs and separate them alternately during rotation discs and means for orienting the hair to be depilated, said orientation means being rotated at the same time as the discs.
  • said orientation means are means for straightening the bristles, said means for straightening the bristles being located angularly spaced from the pinch blades and covering substantially the area which extends axially between the peripheral edges adjacent discs, these means for straightening the bristles consisting of tufts of hair or hairs, said hairs extending homogeneously according to one or more continuous rows.
  • These brushing means which rotate in same time as the discs, straighten the hairs to epilate in the area where the discs take resting on the skin, so that these hairs straightened engage between the rotating discs of the device where they are thus pinched by the blades and torn off.
  • said means for brushing the hair to be depilated have tufts of hair extending between the discs, the base of these hairs being rendered integral with the hub which carries the discs.
  • the tufts of hair extend substantially radially relative to the axis of the hub.
  • This radial arrangement of tufts is also favorable for straightening the hair to be depilated and therefore their engagement between discs.
  • the free end of the tufts of hair protrudes slightly beyond the peripheral edge some discs.
  • This feature improves the effectiveness of brushing provided by tufts of hair.
  • the width of the tufts of hair corresponds substantially to the distance that separates each pair of discs.
  • the tufts cover the entire area between the discs and are thus able to straighten all the hairs likely to be found in this zone.
  • the bristles of the brush tufts will have to be stiff enough to produce a straightening effect with respect to the hairs depilating, without being too stiff, however, so as not to irritate the skin.
  • the hairs of the tufts should be close enough to each other others to produce the desired recovery effect hair to be depilated.
  • the epilating device according to the invention has a identical structure to that described in the request French patent FR-A-2,648,332 in the name of the plaintiff.
  • This hair removal device has a series of parallel discs 2 fixed on a hub 3 driven rotating by an electric motor, blades pinch not shown in Figures 1 and 2 arranged between the discs and rods to bring said blades in contact with the periphery discs 2.
  • the pinch blades and their control rod were not represented.
  • the epilator includes means for brushing hair with depilate, these means being rotated in same time as discs 2.
  • the means for brushing the hair to be depilated include tufts of hair 20 extending between the discs 2, the base of these bristles being made integral of the hub 3 which carries the discs 2.
  • the tufts of bristles 20 extend substantially radially with respect to the axis XX ' hub 3.
  • the width of the tufts of bristles 20 corresponds substantially to the distance d which separates each pair of discs 2.
  • the tufts of bristles 20 are fixed to a base 21 common which extends along the hub 3 of discs 2.
  • the device has two rows of bristle tufts 20 fixed each with a base 21, these two bases 21 being arranged diametrically opposite relative to the axis XX 'of the hub 3.
  • This figure 3 also shows that the tufts bristles 20 are located in a perpendicular plane P at the plane of symmetry Q of the series of blades 22.
  • the bases 21 have a substantially trapezoidal section whose large base rests against a flat part 24 of the hub 3.
  • the sides adjacent to the large and small bases of the trapezoid are fitted in the notches of complementary shapes 23 formed in discs 2.
  • Figure 3 also shows in section the rods 25 which pass through the discs 2 and the pinch blades 22 and which are used to control the pivoting of the latter between a position spaced from the discs and a support position on these.
  • the discs 2 are not fully circular but have cutouts 26 in which are notches 23 which hold the bases 21 tufts 20
  • cutouts 26 are angularly offset relative to the axis XX ', so that the bases 21 are retained by pairs of notches 23 practiced not on the same disc 2, but by two neighboring disks, as shown by figure 2.
  • the tufts of bristles 20 can be fixed in openings in the bases 21 or be directly attached to them during the molding of the plastic of the latter.
  • the hub 3 driven by it rotates around the axis XX ', the entire rotary roller, namely the discs 2, the pinch blades 22 and the tufts of bristles 20 linked to the hub 3 by the bases 21.
  • the tufts of bristles 20 come into contact with the skin 27 (see figure 4) in the area where discs 2 take themselves support on this skin.
  • These tufts of hair 20 thus brush the hairs 28 lying or plated on the skin 27, which has the effect of straightening these hairs 28. Thanks to this straightening of hairs 28, these can engage between discs 2 and especially between these and the pinch blades 22 which can thus tear them from the skin.
  • the presence of these tufts of hair 20 in a place angularly separated from the blades pinch 20, does not cause any discomfort in the operation of the device, nor any complexity in the making of it.
  • the layout tufts 20 to 90 ° of the blades 22 and their 25 control rods provides better balance masses, capable of imitating vibrations.
  • the tufts of hair 20 favor the removal of hairs plucked from the skin and limit fouling of the device by torn hairs.
  • the tufts section instead of being circular, could be square or rectangular.
  • the bristles of brushes instead of being arranged in tufts could extend so homogeneous in one or more continuous rows.
  • Tufts or rows of hairs could also be installed directly in the hub.
