Handrail intended to be arranged along at least one wall (2) of a room and comprising a rectilinear part (5) fixed to said wall (2) by means of consoles (4) and capable of being connected to the rectilinear parts mounted on the neighboring walls by angle end pieces (7a, 7b) cooperating with the ends of longitudinal grooves (8) formed in correspondence in each rectilinear part (5), said rectilinear part (5) being covered on at at least part of its front face (9) by a thin plate (10) which extends over its entire length,
characterized in that said rectilinear part (5) of handrail (1) is produced from a single profile (11) shaped so that said thin plate (10) can be fixed on its front face (9) by latching means (21a, 21b) provided along the longitudinal edges (20a, 20b) of said thin plate (10).

   ladite paroi avant (9) présentant de plus entre lesdites surfaces inclinées (21a, 21b) au moins une surface d'appui (22a, 22b) destinée à être en contact avec la face arrière de ladite plaque mince (10) et deux gorges longitudinales (23a, 23b) ménagées chacune entre l'une desdites surfaces inclinées (21a, 21b) et ladite surface d'appui (22a, 22b) de manière à permettre l'engagement d'un bord biseauté (20a, 20b) de ladite plaque mince (10) lors de la mise en place de celle-ci.

said front wall (9) further having between said inclined surfaces (21a, 21b) at least one bearing surface (22a, 22b) intended to be in contact with the rear face of said thin plate (10) and two longitudinal grooves (23a, 23b) each formed between one of said inclined surfaces (21a, 21b) and said bearing surface (22a, 22b) so as to allow engagement of a beveled edge (20a, 20b) of said plate thin (10) during the positioning thereof.
