Definitions

  • the invention relates to a screwless clamp for wire-shaped conductors, in particular for electrical switching elements, such as switches, lamp sockets or the like at the back, inclined to the contact surface, the front section is provided with an open-edge recess for inserting a conductor.
  • Screwless clamp fasteners of the type mentioned are increasingly being used instead of the conventional screw connections for electrical lines on switching elements.
  • the conductor is pressed against an associated contact surface by a tongue-like clamping spring.
  • the screwless clamp connection consists of the corresponding number of clamp springs arranged directly next to one another and only separated by narrow slots.
  • the clamp spring has a V-shaped recess on the front edge of its free end.
  • the centrally arranged recess does not take up the entire width of the clamping spring, so that between the lateral boundary edges of the clamping spring and the recess there remains a section perpendicular to their lateral boundary edges on both sides of the recess.
  • the actual fastening zone which is intended to prevent the clamped conductor from breaking out laterally, is narrowly limited. An accurate insertion of the conductor in the correct position and thus a reliable attachment is not guaranteed.
  • a screwless clamp fastening is known from DE-U-19 81 350, in which the edge of the clamp spring directed against the contact surface is recessed in a V-shaped manner for stable holding of the conductor, which is also clamped in place is.
  • the recess extends over the full width of the edge abutting the contact surface; but it has the disadvantage that the apex height of the V-shaped recess depends both on the opening angle of its legs and on the width of the clamping spring and finally also on the inclination of the clamping spring relative to the contact surface. This has the consequence that the recess designed for a conductor with a large diameter can only clamp a thin conductor unreliably.
  • the recess depth is dimensioned for a thin conductor, the lateral hold for a thick conductor is not guaranteed.
  • the same problem also occurs with conductors with a non-uniform diameter, such as with tinned strands.
  • the invention is based on the object of creating a screwless clamp for wire-shaped conductors according to the preamble of claim 1, which reliably prevents a conductor from breaking out laterally and also reliably clamps conductors of different diameters.
  • edge-open recess is designed as a trapezoid with a base lying on the front edge of the tongue and at least approximately taking up its full width.
  • the legs of the trapezoid form an angle of 30 ° to 60 °, but preferably 45 °, with the lateral boundary edges of the tongue.
  • This solution is characterized in that the connecting conductor is securely guided and held laterally even when external forces occur. Furthermore, the risk of the conductor being pushed past the clamping zone to the side is substantially reduced.
  • the inclination of the front portion of the tongue forms an angle of approximately 45 ° with respect to the contact surface.
  • the height of the trapezoid forming the edge-open recess is selected so that its distance from the contact surface is smaller than the smallest diameter of the conductor to be clamped.
  • An advantage of this design is that connecting conductors of different diameters, but above all thin conductors, can be securely clamped and contacted.
  • a lamp holder designated by 10 has a one-piece housing, which is equipped on the one hand with a threaded part 11 and on the other hand with a connecting part 12.
  • the threaded part 11 serves in the usual way for receiving the threaded base of an incandescent lamp 13, while the connecting part 12, as described further below, receives clamp fasteners 20 for connecting the power supply lines for the incandescent lamp 13.
  • two chambers 15, which are separated from one another by a partition wall 14, are arranged in the connecting part 12 for receiving a screwless clamp fastening 20 each.
  • This is formed from a contact spring with a contact surface 21 and a clamping spring 22 connected thereto.
  • the clamping spring 22 is angled like a hook and has at its free end a tongue 23 which is inclined inward by approximately 45 ° with respect to the section of the contact surface 21 which cooperates with it (see in particular FIG. 3).
  • the tongue 23 On its front edge directed against the contact surface 21, the tongue 23 has an open edge 24.
  • This is designed as a trapezoid with a base lying on the front edge of the tongue 23, which, as can be seen in particular from FIG. 4, occupies its full width.
  • the contact area 21 of the contact spring is connected to the clamping spring 22 via a connecting element 25 in the form of a crimp connection or the like, so that both parts are firmly associated with one another.
  • an electrical conductor 30 serving as a power supply for the incandescent lamp 15 is in the form of an insulated wire with its stripped end through an opening 31 from the outside into the chamber 15 and there through the recess 24 at the front Edge of the clamping spring 22 formed insertion opening of the screwless clamp 20 inserted.
  • the tongue 23 of the clamping spring 22 which is inclined rearward at its free end in the front section towards the contact surface, is deflected backwards against its spring restoring force.
  • the electrical conductor 30 held between the contact surface 21 and the clamping spring is prevented from breaking out laterally into the slot between the two clamping springs or between the clamping spring and the wall of the chamber 15 by the legs of the trapezoid extending from the lateral boundary edges of the tongue 23.
  • the upper boundary of the trapezoidal recess 24 on the front edge of the tongue 23 parallel to the base runs parallel to the contact surface 21 and thus forms a clamping edge which rests in the electrical conductor due to its spring action. If a tensile force is exerted on the conductor 30, the clamping effect is increased.
  • the clamping springs 22 are separated from one another by a slot 26. In this case, a clamping spring 22 has two clamping attachments to which two conductors 30 can be connected if necessary.
  • the height of the trapezoid forming the edge-open recess 24 to the contact surface 21 is selected so that its distance from it is smaller than the smallest diameter of the conductor to be clamped. In this way, conductors of different strengths can be securely held with the clamping device.
