Definitions

  • the impact drill according to the invention with the characterizing features of claim 1 has the advantage that it can be switched over to the operating modes rotary drilling, impact drilling and chiseling with and without spindle lock by user-friendly and easy-to-use switching elements.
  • a locking pin for the spindle lock that works together with the shift lever for switching the operating mode is particularly advantageous. This is under spring force and automatically returns to its rest position before switching on the rotary drive. Resilient switching elements enable the speed to be switched even during operation.
  • the rotatable arrangement of gearwheels on the spindle which can be switched by means of an axially displaceable coupling ring, enables the switching elements for the operating mode switchover and the spindle lock to be coupled in a particularly simple manner.
  • Figure 1 shows a longitudinal section through an impact drill
  • Figure 2 shows a cross section through the switching elements.
  • An impact drill with an electric drive motor (not shown further) has a housing 2, from which a tool holder 3 protrudes at the front.
  • the tool holder 3 is connected to a rotationally driven spindle 4, within which a pneumatic hammer mechanism 5 is accommodated. Impacts of the striking mechanism 5 generated in the axial direction of the spindle 4 are transmitted to a tool, not shown, which is inserted into the tool holder 3.
  • the striking mechanism 5 is driven by a wobble mechanism 6 known per se from rotary hammers, which has a rotary drive element 7 and a piston 8 driven to and fro.
  • the rotary drive member 7 carries part of a clutch 10, the other part of which is arranged on a switching sleeve 11.
  • the shift sleeve 11 is rotatably driven by an intermediate shaft 12 driven by a motor pinion 9 and is axially displaceable thereon.
  • the switching sleeve 11 carries a collar 13 on which an annular thrust bearing 14, which is pushed over the spindle 4, bears.
  • the intermediate shaft 12 carries two spaced-apart, firmly connected gears 16 and 17 of different diameters.
  • the gears 16 and 17 are in constant engagement with two rotatably but axially fixed gears 18 and 19 on the spindle 4.
  • the spindle 4 rotatably but axially displaceably carries a coupling ring 20, which has a coupling toothing 21 facing each of the gears.
  • the clutch teeth 21 engage in counter teeth 22 and 23 on the gears 18 and 19.
  • the coupling ring 20 has a locking toothing 24, into which a locking pin 25 which is seated in a rotationally fixed manner in the housing 2 can be latched.
  • a two-legged shift fork 27 acts on the clutch ring 20 and is pressed by a compression spring 28 against a first annularly closed control cam 30 of a shift lever 31.
  • One leg 32 of the shift fork 27 is slidably mounted relative to the other and is urged against the coupling ring 20 by a spring 33.
  • the shift lever 31 has a handle 35 protruding from the housing 2 and can be rotated about an axis 36 running perpendicular to the housing plane.
  • the shift lever 31 has, as the first control cam 30, an annular groove, the bottom of which describes approximately a semicircular line.
  • the bottom of the groove has a large distance measured on two of four sides from the axis 36, so that the coupling ring 20 couples into the gear 19 for slow gear, on one side a medium-sized distance, so that neither of the two gears 18, 19 with the spindle 4 are coupled and on the fourth side a small distance from the axis 36, so that the gear 18 is coupled to the coupling ring 20.
  • the control curve 30 is designed such that when turning from the chisel position shown in FIG. 1 without a rotary drive, the shift fork 27 initially does not move, so that a holding extension 39 attached laterally to the locking pin 25 and held down by a nose 38 on the shift lever 31 is released.
  • the control curve 30 has a flattened curve section 40.
  • the shift lever 31 has a second closed control cam, which is designed as a protruding plate 42 with two narrow and two long sides.
  • the control cam or plate 32 works together with the thrust bearing 14.
  • the long sides of the plate 42 lie parallel to the thrust bearing 14, so that the clutch 10 is engaged. If the narrow sides of the plate 42 are parallel to the thrust bearing 14, the clutch 10 disengages due to the force of a clutch spring 43 and the rotary drive member 7 stands still.
  • the shift lever 31 and the locking pin 25 can be selected from five different modes of operation of the impact drill.
  • Figure 1 and 2 pure hitting with spindle lock is shown. If the locking pin 25 is not pressed in, then with the same position of the shift lever 31, a striking operation takes place with a freely rotatable spindle 4.
  • the shift lever 31 By turning the shift lever 31 clockwise by 90 degrees, the locking pin 25 jumps out from under the nose 38, then the shift fork is opened in the direction the tool holder 3 moved so that the coupling teeth 21 engages in the counter teeth 23 of the gear 19.
  • the thrust bearing 14 is displaced in the direction of the tool holder 3 via the control cam 42, so that the striking mechanism 5 disengages. In this position, rotary drilling is possible at a slow speed.
  • a further rotation of the shift lever 31 by 90 degrees in a clockwise direction results in the hammer mechanism 5 being switched on, which means that hammer drilling is now possible at slow speed.
  • the striking mechanism 5 is switched off again and the shift fork is pushed to the left by the force of the compression spring 28 away from the tool holder 3, so that the coupling toothing 21 in the counter toothing 22 of the gearwheel 18 snaps into place.
  • rotary drilling is possible at a fast turning speed.
  • hammer drilling with a fast rotation speed cannot be selected, as this could overload the motor.
  • the shift lever 31 is not firmly coupled to the shift fork 27.
  • the springs 28 and 33 ensure when the gears 18 and 19 are switched on that the shift lever 31 can also be turned into its desired position when the toothings 21/22 and 21/23 are tooth-to-tooth.
  • the sprung leg 32 or the sprung shift fork 27 itself only push the clutch ring 20 sideways when the clutch teeth 21 can engage in the respective counter teeth 22 or 23.
  • the shift lever 31 and the control cams 30, 42 are designed so that the shift lever can be rotated as far as desired in both directions of rotation, that is to say the desired mode of operation can be selected in the shortest possible way.
  • the invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiment shown.
  • other two-speed transmission types can also be used, which can also be shifted by a longitudinal displacement of a shift element controlled by the control cam of a shift lever.
  • the invention is particularly applicable to pneumatic rotary hammers.
