These parts of the paper web pressed into the holes will not be subjected to any appreciable pressure, thus contributing to higher bulk and softness.
  • the paper machine described can easily be changed to the different operating arrangements in order to manufacture soft crepe paper webs of different qualities with respect to bulk and softness, in dependence of the varying conditions prevailing on the market at the moment. These conditions may quickly change from one time to another.
  • the extra drying devices placed within the range of the sandwich structure in the second operating arrangement enable increased dry solids content to be achieved before the yankee cylinder so that the paper machine can be run at increased speed which is at least substantially equivalent to the speed of through drying machines mentioned in the introduction.
  • Figure 3 illustrates the relation between dry strength and softness.
  • the line A indicates average values for soft crepe paper web produced using the conventional first arrangement of the paper machine. It is clear that a desired increased strength results in reduced softness. Conversely a desired increased softness results in reduced strength of the soft crepe paper web.
  • Line B indicates average values for soft crepe paper web produced using the second operating arrangement of the paper machine according to the present invention. Thus, it is clear that within a desired range for the strength of the soft crepe paper web, higher softness is obtained in relation to soft crepe paper web produced using the paper machine in its conventional arrangement.
  • the invention has been described in connection with a twin wire machine, however, it can also be applied to a fourdrinier machine in which the supporting forming wire, i.e. the fourdrinier wire, is extended up to the yankee cylinder in the same way as the carrying forming wire 4a in the twin wire machine described.

Claims (11)

  1. Machine à papier destinée à la fabrication d'une bande de papier crêpe doux, comportant une extrémité humide (1) ayant au moins une ligne (4) de mise en forme destinée à mettre en forme et transporter une bande de papier (7), et un tronçon de séchage (2) muni d'un cylindre séchant (12) dans lequel la bande de papier (7) est séchée, ladite machine à papier ayant un premier agencement actif destiné à fabriquer une bande de papier crêpe doux ayant certaines valeurs de bouffant et de douceur, dans laquelle le tronçon séchant (2) du premier agencement actif est muni d'un feutre (13) pouvant se déplacer selon une boucle et agencé pour passer depuis des moyens de prélèvement (14) situés au niveau de la transition entre l'extrémité humide (1) et le tronçon de séchage (2) vers un cylindre presseur (15) qui définit un interstice avec le cylindre séchant (12), ledit feutre supportant la bande de papier (7) sur sa surface inférieure, et la ligne de mise en forme et de transport (4) est agencée pour se déplacer vers lesdits moyens de prélèvement (14) dans le tronçon séchant (2) pour transférer la bande de papier (7) formée sur ledit feutre (13), caractérisée en ce que ladite machine à papier peut être reconditionnée entre ledit premier agencement actif (figure 1) et un second agencement actif (figure 2) destiné à la production d'une bande de papier crêpe doux ayant des valeurs de bouffant et de douceur plus élevées par rapport au premier agencement actif et dans laquelle la ligne (4a) de mise en forme et de transport du second agencement actif est agencée pour se déplacer selon une boucle étendue à partir de l'extrémité humide (1) jusqu'au cylindre presseur (15) du tronçon de séchage (2), en ce que le feutre (13) du tronçon de séchage (2) est remplacé par une courroie perforée (25) du type ligne, pouvant se déplacer selon une boucle et perméable à l'air et aux liquides, qui est agencée pour se déplacer depuis lesdits moyens de prélèvement (14) vers ledit cylindre presseur (15) en étant en contact avec la ligne étendue (4a) de mise en forme et de transport, tout en enfermant entre elles la bande de papier (7) afin de former une structure en sandwich continue, en ce que des moyens (29, 30, 31) produisant des jets d'air sont agencés le long de la structure en sandwich pour enlever l'eau de la bande de papier (7) par l'intermédiaire d'air s'écoulant à travers la bande de papier (7), et en ce que des moyens de nettoyage (33, 34, 35, 36, 38) sont agencés le long de la boucle de la courroie (25) pour nettoyer celle-ci de manière à maintenir la perméabilité à l'eau et à l'air.
  2. Machine à papier selon la revendication 1, caractérisée en ce que dans le second agencement actif (figure 2) un cylindre de guidage (26) destiné à la ligne (4a) de mise en forme et de transport est agencé au voisinage du cylindre presseur (15) de sorte que la ligne (4a) de mise en forme et de transport entoure un secteur prédéterminé du cylindre presseur (15) avant qu'elle ne quitte la bande de papier (7), secteur à l'intérieur duquel le cylindre presseur est muni de moyens d'aspiration (16).
  3. Machine à papier selon la revendication 1 ou 2, caractérisée en ce que les moyens produisant des jets d'air comportent au moins une boîte d'aspiration (29, 30, 31).
  4. Machine à papier selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 3, caractérisée en ce que les moyens produisant des jets d'air comportent au moins une buse de soufflage (32).
  5. Machine à papier selon la revendication 1 ou 2, caractérisée en ce que les moyens produisant des jets d'air comportent au moins des premiers moyens d'aspiration (30) et au moins une buse de soufflage de vapeur (32), les moyens d'aspiration (30) et la buse de soufflage de vapeur (32) étant agencés de manière opposée l'un à l'autre, un de chaque côté de la structure en sandwich.
  6. Machine à papier selon la revendication 4, caractérisée en ce qu'une buse de soufflage est dirigée vers les moyens d'aspiration (16) du cylindre presseur (15), de l'autre côté de la structure en sandwich.
  7. Machine à papier selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisée en ce qu'au moins une boîte à infrarouges est agencée pour chauffer par infrarouges la bande de papier.
  8. Machine à papier selon la revendication 7, caractérisée en ce que la boîte à infrarouges est agencée à proximité de la structure en sandwich.
  9. Machine à papier selon la revendication 7, caractérisée en ce que la boîte à infrarouges est agencée au niveau du cylindre séchant (12), après le cylindre presseur (15).
  10. Machine à papier selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisée en ce que des moyens sont agencés pour former au moins un interstice de compression muni de feutre agissant sur les surfaces extérieures de la structure en sandwich.
  11. Machine à papier destinée à la fabrication d'une bande de papier crêpe doux, comportant au moins une ligne (4) de mise en forme destinée à former et transporter une bande de papier (7), un cylindre séchant (12) et un rouleau presseur (15) qui définissent ensembles un interstice à travers lequel passe la bande de papier (7), la ligne (4a) de mise en forme et de transport étant agencée pour se déplacer selon une boucle étendue jusqu'au cylindre presseur (15), caractérisée en ce qu'une courroie perforée (25) du type ligne, perméable à l'air et aux liquides, est agencée pour se déplacer en contact avec la ligne étendue (4a) de mise en forme et de transport, tout en recevant la bande de papier (7) entre elles afin de former une structure en sandwich continue le long d'une distance s'étendant à partir des moyens de prélèvement (14) situés en amont du cylindre presseur (15) jusqu'au cylindre presseur (15), en ce que des moyens (29, 30, 31) produisant des jets d'air sont agencés le long de la structure en sandwich pour enlever l'eau de la bande de papier (7), et en ce que des moyens de nettoyage (33, 34, 35, 36, 38) sont agencés le long de la boucle de la courroie (25) pour la nettoyer de manière à maintenir la perméabilité à l'eau et à l'air.
