Abstract

La machine à papier, qui sert à la fabrication de bandes de papier crêpé souple, comprend une extrémité humide (1), comportant un fil de formage (4) destiné à former et à porter une bande de papier (7), ainsi qu'une section de séchage (2) pourvue d'un cylindre de séchage (12). La machine à papier se caractérise par un premier agencement opérationnel qui sert à fabriquer une bande de papier crêpé souple avec certaines valeurs indice de bouffant et de souplesse et dans lequel la section de séchage comporte un feutre (13) destiné à avancer en boucle depuis un rouleau de préhension (14) situé à l'endroit de transition entre l'extrémité humide et la section de séchage vers un rouleau presseur (15) situé au niveau du cylindre de séchage, et le fil de formage porteur avance jusqu'au rouleau de préhension (14) pour permettre le transfert de la bande de papier sur le feutre (13). Selon la présente invention, la machine à papier peut être reconstruite entre le premier agencement opérationnel et un second agencement opérationnel qui sert à produire une bande de papier crêpé souple ayant des valeurs d'indice de bouffant et de souplesse plus élevées par rapport au premier agencement opérationnel et dans lequel le fil de formage porteur (4a) avance jusqu'au rouleau presseur (15). Le feutre est remplacé par une courroie (25) du type à fil, mobile en boucle depuis le rouleau de préhension (14) jusqu'au rouleau presseur en contact avec le fil de formage porteur (4a), tout en enfermant la bande de papier entre eux pour former une structure en sandwich. Des moyens (29-31) servant à produire des jets d'air sont disposés le long de la structure en sandwich, afin de retirer l'eau de la bande de papier (7). D'autres moyens de nettoyage (33-36, 38) sont disposés le long de la courroie (25) pour la nettoyer, de façon à préserver sa perméabilité à l'eau et à l'air.
