- a microwave oven usually comprises a compartment serving as a processing enclosure and a compartment intended to house a magnetron system for producing microwaves.
- the microwaves produced by the production system are brought by a waveguide into the processing enclosure where an article or food product subjected to a cooking or reheating or thawing treatment is stored. If this article or food product remains motionless inside this enclosure during this treatment, the microwaves in their standing wave regime in this enclosure cause a non-uniform treatment in the mass of this article or product in other words in the mass of this article or food product there are more cooked or well reheated or properly thawed areas which alternate with less cooked or cold or poorly thawed areas. To make this treatment uniform throughout the mass of this article or food product, several solutions have been proposed.
- One of these known solutions consists in mounting in the oven at the outlet of a waveguide, a microwave stirring device in order to obtain a complex regime of standing microwave waves in the enclosure of treatment. This solution brings an improvement in the result obtained but the treatment is still far from uniform throughout the mass of the article or product subjected to this treatment.
- Another known solution provides in the oven treatment enclosure, a turntable with a fixed concentric axis of rotation for receiving an article or product subjected to treatment. During this treatment, the turntable with concentric axis of rotation makes it possible to continuously change the position of the article or product in the enclosure by presenting it to the microwaves.
