Description

The invention relates to a device for rear ventilation of roofs with ventilation elements arranged in particular in the ridge, hip or ridge area in the form of fan caps made of plastic material, which are provided with a fastening area and on the roof side with an elastically flexible sealing element which is attached in the edge area and extends over the length of the cap are and in particular have air passage openings in the intermediate area.

In known devices of this type, the resilient sealing member consists of a preferably open-pore or open-cell foam, which due to its resilience is at least in principle suitable for closing the gap between the roof covering and the fan cap, which has different shapes.

However, if there are sharp-edged transitions or particularly pronounced spacing differences in this gap area, then it is difficult and in some cases even impossible to achieve the necessary and required sealing function with such a sealing element made of foam. In addition, there is generally a risk with foams that they become brittle over time and then can no longer provide the required sealing effect to a completely satisfactory extent.

In addition, there is the strong compression pressure in the known foam seals, which has very unpleasant effects. The visual aspect, especially in the hip area (burr area) is very unattractive in most cases, since the foam sealing part swells out clearly and conspicuously from the gaps to be sealed.

The object of the invention is to provide a sealing member which always ensures a perfect seal practically regardless of the shape of the gaps, which is simple and inexpensive to manufacture, which ensures reliable long-term function and moreover allows storage, To reduce packaging, transport and installation problems significantly or to simplify them significantly.

This object is achieved according to the invention essentially in that the sealing member has the structure of a fine thread brush with a plurality of elastic brush threads arranged in at least largely flow-tight packing.

Such a fine thread brush easily adapts to a wide variety of gap shapes without impairing the airtightness, especially with sharp-edged transitions, provides the desired long-term function without problems, especially when using brush threads made of polypropylene or nylon, has no disruptive capillary action and of course has no embrittlement effects. A major advantage is that - regardless of the type of roofing material - problems during installation are avoided, since no compression back pressures arise due to the fine thread brushes.

A fine thread brush of this type can also be manufactured inexpensively and attached to the respective fan cap by means of suitable connecting or coupling means. The releasable fastening, which is preferably provided, has the advantage that the sealing member can be connected to the relevant fan cap practically only at the respective construction site, so that, depending on the required dimensions of the sealing member, only differing che sealing elements in connection with a type of fan caps must be kept in stock and then the respective required combinations can be made without problems. This also has the very significant advantage that fan caps are packaged and shipped and kept in stock without a sealing element already attached, as a result of which considerable savings can be achieved in terms of packaging and storage space requirements, since the fan caps can be packed as compactly as the ones to be packed separately Sealing elements in the form of fine thread brushes. Furthermore, with conventional plastic sealing strips bonded to the fan cap, problems often arise in that these sealing strips become detached from the fan cap and fall off due to temperature fluctuations and / or UV exposure. At high temperatures, which are quite common in summer, this can already happen during transport. In contrast, the sealing device according to the invention reliably avoids these problems.

The resilience of the brush threads is carried out by the choice of the respective brush thread diameter, whereby with increasing length of the brush threads also brush threads with increasing diameter and thus increasing resilience are used.

Particularly advantageous refinements of the invention are specified in the subclaims, and further advantageous features of the invention are explained in connection with the following description of exemplary embodiments.

Fig. 1 zeigt eine mit dem allgemeinen Bezugszeichen 1 gekennzeichnete Lüfterkappe, die einen Befestigungsbereich 2, einen dachseitigen Randbereich 3 und einen Zwischenbereich 4 umfaßt, wobei in dem Zwischenbereich 4 Luftdurchtrittsöffnungen 5 und im Randbereich 3 Stützelemente 6 in bekannter Weise vorgesehen sind.1 shows a fan cap identified by the general reference number 1, which comprises a fastening area 2, a roof-side edge area 3 and an intermediate area 4, 4 air passage openings 5 being provided in the intermediate area and 3 support elements 6 being provided in a known manner in the edge area 3.

On the underside of the edge area 3 of the fan cap 1, a sealing member 7 in the form of a fine thread brush made of a plurality of brush threads 8 is attached.

Fine thread brushes designed according to the invention can be used with all types of fan caps, so that the fan cap indicated in FIG. 1 is only to be regarded as an example of such fan caps.

The seal according to the invention in the form of a fine thread brush can accordingly be used for ridge, hip and ridge areas but also for throat areas.

Fig. 2 shows an embodiment in which the sealing member is attached to a carrier part 9 in the form of a fine thread brush and has brush threads 8 of different lengths, so that the fine thread brush has a wedge-shaped region 10 at its end facing away from the carrier member 9.

Verbindung mit der zugehörigen Lüfterkappe möglich ist.3, the fine thread brush 7 is essentially wedge-like over its entire height, and the carrier member 9 has a recess 11, in the area of which a coupling or connection to the associated fan cap is preferably possible.

In the embodiment variant according to FIG. 4, the fine thread brush 7 consists of several areas of different brush thread lengths, with graded transitions between the individual areas. In practice, three brush strip strips can be combined with one another in this case, as will be explained in more detail below.

In this case, the carrier part 9 is connected to a fastening part 12 which encloses an acute angle with the carrier part.

An arrangement analogous to FIG. 4 is shown in FIG. 5, in which case the fine-thread brush is designed in the form of an oblique wedge with a blunt end.

Diese Kuppelnoppen 18 können dabei gleichzeitig Auflageorgane für Firstkappen bilden.FIG. 6 shows an embodiment of an arrangement according to the invention which corresponds essentially to FIG. 4, in which case dome cams 18, which preferably have lateral clamping ribs, are attached to the fastening part 12. The sealing member 7 can be connected to the associated fan cap in a simple manner via these clamping or dome knobs 18, since it is only necessary to insert the clamping knobs 18 into corresponding receiving slots and to snap them into place. This dome 18 can at the same time form support members for ridge caps.

Fig. 7 illustrates a preferred way of producing and building a fine thread brush according to the invention.

First, a first layer of brush threads 8 is placed on a tensioned holding element 14 in the form of a wire, rod or the like, and several further layers are then applied adjacent to this first layer. Subsequently, a clamping guide part, in particular a galvanized sheet, is bent around the holding element 14 in such a way that the brush threads 8 are enclosed in this clamping guide part 17 in the region of the holding element and the fine thread brush shown in FIG. 8 is thus formed.

The fine thread brush can also be produced by placing the brush threads on a horizontally lying strip of zinc sheet, metal strips or strips of other materials. A holding element in the form of a wire or rod is then placed in the center of the brush threads placed on it and the entire arrangement is then crimped.

The clamping is somewhat more pronounced in the area of the exit of the brush threads 8 from the clamping guide part 17, so that the smallest width of the brush results at this point and the brush threads fan out somewhat towards the free end.

In the area of the exit of the brush from the clamping guide part 17, the width of the brush according to our preferred exemplary embodiment is approximately 2.5 mm, it being essential that the individual brush threads 8 diameters in the range from 0.10 to 0.40 mm and preferably have in the range of 0.15 to 0.35 mm, which is equivalent to the fact that the Fine thread brush according to the invention has a large number of brush threads per running length unit.

These brush threads can consist of plastic material, in particular polypropylene or nylon, but it is also possible to use fine metal threads and natural fibers of vegetable or animal origin, mixtures of these different fibers also being advantageous in principle.

The brush threads 7 already provide the necessary flow tightness when they are straight, due to their tight packing, but these brush threads are preferably deformed in their longitudinal plane, in particular corrugated, since this results in mutual interlocking, which also contributes to the fact that no air breakthrough can occur even in strong wind pressure. This results in the best safety against flying snow and driving rain.

The longer the fine thread brush according to the invention has to be in practice, the larger the diameter of the brush threads 8 is chosen to ensure the necessary resilience in any case. In practice, brush lengths of 30, 40, 50, 60, 75, 95 and 105 mm are preferably provided when used in connection with fan caps, and a major advantage of the invention is that these different brush strips are practically only connected to the associated fan cap on the construction site can be, since a corresponding coupling with the fan cap is possible in the simplest way via the support part of the brush.

This connectivity allows brush strips and fan caps to be packed and shipped separately and also stored, which leads to the fact that, for example, in a package unit, instead of the previous 30 caps, 150 caps can now be packed, although these figures are only examples, but document the great advantage that can be achieved.

The pinch fastening of the brush threads explained with reference to FIGS. 7 and 8 represents a particularly simple and preferred way of realizing the carrier part for the fine thread brush, but it is also quite possible to fix the brush threads at their fastening-side end in a different way, provided that it is always ensures the required tight packing and ensures that the inflow tightness can no longer be guaranteed in the required manner by a tuft arrangement used, for example.

Fig. 9 shows a preferred coupling option between the brush strip and fan cap. In the left part of FIG. 9, a tab part is shown, which is used to implement a sliding guide 15. Installed insertion corners 20 are provided to facilitate the insertion of the carrier part of the brush.

The right part of the illustration in FIG. 9 shows the fan cap 1 with an outwardly extending spoiler 19 and an inwardly angled edge region 21.

On the underside of the fan cap 1, the tab part required to form the sliding guide 15 is fastened or integrally formed, and this tab part forms, together with the angled edge region 21, a U-shaped receptacle for the clamping guide part of a fine thread brush as shown in FIG. 8 , Brush-side ends of the angled edge region 21 and the sliding guide 15 are angled inward again so that the fine thread brush exits from this U-shaped receptacle is certainly prevented.

On the underside of the fan cap 1, a plurality of such tab elements are preferably provided at a mutual spacing, and the fine thread brush is preferably introduced in the form of a sliding process, the insertion of the brush strip in the longitudinal direction of the fan cap being facilitated by the corners 20 that have been set up.

This embodiment of a coupling between the brush strip and fan cap is characterized by particular simplicity and also by inexpensive production, because the fan cap itself is used in its edge area as part of the corresponding sliding guide.

But there are also other advantageous coupling options by clicking, hooking, pressing in the manner of a push-button connection and fixed connections by, for example, gluing, welding or riveting.

The sealing device according to the invention is extremely temperature-resistant, taking into account the respective choice of material and due to the construction of a large number of separate individual elements, and is also flow-tight under difficult circumstances and, above all, extremely adaptable to the respective sealing problem. Due to the fine brush seal, every roofing material is 100% sealed, without leaving open spots at corners and arches through which driving rain and flying snow can be introduced. Furthermore, there is no risk that - as can be the case with conventional foam seals - the sealing material of birds is used for nest building and the sealing function is thereby deteriorated. Of particular advantage is that due to the use Using a fine thread brush as a sealing material during installation and assembly, no counter or compression pressures are exerted on the roof covering elements or fan caps by the sealing material.

The brush threads 8 can preferably have a circular, elliptical, triangular, square or rhombic cross section. The cross-sectional profile over the length of the brush thread can be cylindrical or conical.
