Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a fan cap for ridge and ridge covers, in particular made of plastic material, with air passage openings, with an edge area and with a flexible sealing lip provided in the edge area and adhering to the surface of roofing elements.
It is known to ventilate roof covers in order to avoid possible damage caused by moisture formation. For this purpose u. a. Fan caps are used, which are provided at their edge area with a sealing element in order to seal on the surface of the roof covering elements, that is to say usually the ridge connecting tiles. To achieve effective rear ventilation, negative pressure is generated in the ridge or ridge area with the help of the fan caps. Due to the negative pressure generated, the air present in the interior of the roof is sucked out and effective rear ventilation occurs.
With fan caps of the aforementioned type, however, the problem often arises that, due to manufacturing tolerances, uneven laying of the roof covering elements and sharp-edged transitions in the gap area between the fan cap and the roof covering elements, the edge region of the fan cap, that is to say the sealing element, does not seal completely against the roof covering elements, so that There are gaps between the roof covering elements and the fan cap, through which moisture and dirt can be driven into the roof interior, which can damage the roof truss and contaminate the roof interior. In addition, these gaps affect the sealing necessary and necessary for the generation of negative pressure, as a result of which the desired suction effect of the fan cap and the effectiveness of the ventilation or rear ventilation are reduced.
A fan cap, from which the invention is based, is known from EP-A-0 117 391. There a ridge or ridge cover is described for roofs covered with roof covering panels, a sealing element being provided in the edge region of the ridge or ridge cover, which consists of a comb-like edge part made of elastically deformable material, the teeth of which can be spread apart with an edge strip bridging the tooth gaps made of flexible material are connected. The flexible edge strip is wavy trained and attached to the teeth of the comb-like edge part with wave crests. Furthermore, it is provided that both the comb-like edge part and the edge strip consist of a weather-resistant and aging-resistant plastic.
In order to be able to achieve a certain negative pressure and thus adequate rear ventilation with this known ridge or ridge cover, it is imperative that a good seal is achieved on the ridge connection tiles. However, due to the wave-shaped design of the flexible edge strip, small gaps or openings can form between the surface of the ridge connection tile to be sealed and the sealing element when teeth lie on the wave troughs in the assembled state of the ridge or ridge cover or the wave troughs in the seal state be pushed up and form an upward bulge. It goes without saying that such leaks not only lead to the inflow of snow and / or rain and the entry of dirt, but can also significantly impair the generation of negative pressure. Another disadvantage of the sealing element of the known fan cap is that the sealing element cannot be adapted easily and in particular with a variety of gap shapes between the fan cap and roof covering elements, particularly when the flow tightness is impaired, especially in the case of abrupt and particularly pronounced gap transitions between fan cap and roof covering elements.
From DE-A-2 256 675 a vent ridge cap is already known which is comparable to the one mentioned at the beginning. The known vent ridge cap is provided with a fastening area and on the roof side with elastically flexible sealing elements in the form of sealing lips which are arranged in the edge area and extend over the length of the cap. Recesses for roof tiles are provided in the sealing lips. Some of the recesses have a fish scale-like formation. The well-known vent ridge cap is only suitable for a specific type of roof tile. In addition, not provided gap transitions between the fan cap and the roof tiles can not be compensated, so that the sealing effect achieved is low in this case. The same applies, moreover, to the ridge cap arrangement known from DE-A-2 262 924, which essentially corresponds to the ventilation ridge cap mentioned above.
The object of the invention is to develop a fan cap of the type mentioned in such a way that the entry of dirt, moisture and false winds between the fan cap and the roof covering elements is prevented in a simple and reliable manner and the necessary negative pressure generation for sufficient rear ventilation is made possible.
This object is achieved in a fan cap of the type mentioned in the present invention essentially in that the sealing lip consists of a brush preventing the occurrence of false winches between the fan cap and the roof covering elements. By using a sealing lip designed as a brush in the edge region of the fan cap, an extraordinarily good and secure seal between the fan cap and the roof covering elements is achieved in a simple manner even with large manufacturing tolerances or in the event of inaccurate laying of the roof covering elements, so that the penetration of moisture and dirt is prevented and enormous suction power and ventilation of the fan cap is achieved.

The
The
The
In any case, however, the
The sealing
Furthermore, it is possible for the
Due to the design as a brush, the
The
