Definitions
- the invention relates to a suction fan cap for ridge and ridge covers for roof ventilation, in particular made of plastic material, with a ventilation area and an edge area, which preferably merge into one another via kinks, with air passage openings which are formed by slot-like protrusions of the ventilation area that are open on the ridge side, preferably aligned in the longitudinal direction of the suction fan cap are and through which the air is sucked off, and with a sealing lip provided in the edge region, extending at least over part of its length and adhering to the surface of the roof covering elements.
- a suction fan cap of the type mentioned is already known from EP - A-0117 391.
- the sealing lip has a flexible carrier strip which is designed like a comb, the teeth being connected to one another by a spreading edge strip bridging the tooth gaps and made of flexible material. Due to the "floating skin-like" design of the sealing lip, absolute airtightness is achieved between the teeth. Problems occur with this known fan cap, however, whenever large gaps have to be bridged between adjacent roof covering elements and the pulled-apart sealing lip cannot sufficiently bridge such gaps, so that there are necessarily leaks. Farther there are leaks due to the waveform of the teeth and edge strips, since channels form in the area of the teeth which lead into the roof interior.
- Fan caps are known from DE-A-22 56 675, DE-A-22 62 924 and DE-A-27 07 384, in which outside air is supplied to the roof interior. In contrast to the suction fan cap mentioned above, there is no ventilation, but ventilation.
- the fan cap known from DE-A-22 62 924 functions in a similar manner to that described above.
- baffle walls are provided in the ventilation parts, in which water and flying snow should separate.
- the common feature of the aforementioned fan caps is that the roof area is ventilated via the edge area. Smaller leaks do not play a major role in these fan caps, as long as it is ensured that moisture or dirt particles cannot penetrate through these leaks.
- the invention is based on the object of providing a suction fan cap of the type mentioned at the outset which is easy and reliable to enter prevents dirt, moisture and false winds between the suction fan cap and the roof covering elements.
- edge area is shaped according to the surface contour of the roofing elements and that the sealing lip has directly adjacent lamellae, which are separated from each other only by incisions lying next to one another at a uniform distance.
- the sealing lip consists of a lamella band which has the closely spaced lamellae and which is fastened, in particular glued, to the upper and / or lower surface of the edge region.
- This lamella band can be, for example, a stable plastic film which projects beyond the edge region in the same plane in which the edge region of the suction fan cap lies and in which the lamellae are formed by incisions running perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the suction fan cap.
- sealing lip integrally with the edge region in that the wall thickness of the edge region is reduced towards its edge up to the wall thickness of a flexible film.
- Such a sealing lip is easy to manufacture and additional assembly steps are unnecessary.
- FIGs 1 and 2 one half of a suction fan cap made of plastic is shown.
- the entire suction fan cap 1 comprises a further half, not shown, which runs symmetrically to the fan cap half shown. However, it is equally possible that the entire suction fan cap 1 is made in one piece.
- the suction fan cap 1 comprises a flat ridge fastening area 2, a ventilation area 3 and a flat edge area 4.
- the individual areas merge into one another by kinks, the areas adjoining each other enclosing an obtuse angle with one another.
- nail holes 5 are provided in order to fasten the fan cap to the ridge or ridge slat.
- the ventilation area 3 has a series of air passage openings 6, which are formed by protuberances 7 of the ventilation area 3 that are open on the ridge tile side.
- a further row of protuberances is provided in the ventilation region 3 between the protuberances 7 having the air passage openings 6 and the edge region 4, which form support bases 8, on which ridge tiles, not shown, are supported.
- the ridge tiles lie with corresponding webs on flat and essentially rectangular or square support surfaces 9 of the support base 8.
- the shape of the support base 8 is further determined by four flat, to the support surface 9 inclined side walls 10 is determined, the support base 8 being so close to the protuberances 7 having the air passage openings 6 that the mutually facing side walls of the protuberances 7 and the support base 8 have a V-shaped cross section with one another.
- the point of contact of these two side walls lies clearly above the base plane 12 of the ventilation area 3.
- the support base 8 it is also possible for the support base 8 to have a different shape, for example a hump-like or frustoconical shape.
- the support bases 8 have a shorter length than the air passage openings 6, which in the example shown have an oval or slot-like shape, and are expediently arranged centrally to the air passage openings 6 or to the protuberances 7.
- the edge area 4 is delimited by a semicircular recesses 14 and straight sections 15 with an alternating edge 13, which is designed and rests on the surface contour of conventional roof covering elements, not shown, and rests thereon.
- the edge 13 is provided over its entire length with a lamellar sealing lip 16 projecting over the edge 13 in the plane of the edge region 4, which is shown only schematically in FIG.
- This sealing lip 16 can consist of two plastic foils glued onto the top and bottom of the edge area 4, which protrude evenly over the edge 13 and are glued together in the above area.
- the lamellae of the sealing lip 16 can be formed by providing incisions 17 in the area of the sealing lip projecting beyond the edge 13, which are at a uniform distance from one another and extend to the edge 13.
- the sealing lip 16 can be pushed onto the edge 13 of the edge region 4 with a holding section 18 with a U-shaped cross section.
- the distance between the legs of the holding section 18 in this case is expediently somewhat less than the wall thickness of the edge 13 and the legs of the holding section 18 are sufficiently rigid so that after the holding area 18 has been pushed onto the edge 13, the sealing lip sits firmly on the edge .
- the sealing lip 16 can additionally be glued to the edge 13.
- the sealing lip 16 clings closely to the surface contour of the roof covering elements.
- the sealing lip 16 or its individual lamellae have a sufficiently high stability that they are not lifted from the surface of the roof covering elements even in strong winds.
- the sealing lip 16 can be made of plastic, rubber or a rot-proof foam or nonwoven material. Furthermore, it is possible to design the wall thickness of the edge region 4 in the region of the edge 13 to be smaller than in the other regions, so that on the one hand no appreciable thickening occurs due to the application of the sealing lip and on the other hand the edge 13 of the suction fan cap 1 also has a certain flexibility, which Nestling the suction fan cap 1 can improve on the surface of the roof covering elements.
- edge 13 of the edge region 4 itself as a sealing lip, by reducing the wall thickness in the region of the edge 13 to such an extent that it clings to the roof covering elements when the suction fan cap 1 is placed on it.
- the edge 13 can be provided with incisions which support the sealing lip nestling against the roof covering elements.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a suction fan cap for ridge and ridge covers for roof ventilation, in particular made of plastic material, with a ventilation area and an edge area, which preferably merge into one another via kinks, with air passage openings which are formed by slot-like protrusions of the ventilation area that are open on the ridge side, preferably aligned in the longitudinal direction of the suction fan cap are and through which the air is sucked off, and with a sealing lip provided in the edge region, extending at least over part of its length and adhering to the surface of the roof covering elements.
It is known to ventilate roof covers in order to avoid possible damage caused by moisture formation. The suction fan caps commonly used for this purpose rest on them with an edge area shaped according to the surface contour of the adjoining roof covering elements. However, this often creates the problem that, due to manufacturing tolerances or uneven laying of the roof covering elements, the edge region of the suction fan cap does not terminate properly with the roof covering elements, so that gaps are created through which moisture and dirt can be driven in between the roof covering elements and the suction fan cap, thereby damaging the roof truss can. In addition, the column creates air flow conditions that impair the desired suction effect of the suction fan cap and thereby reduce the effectiveness of the ventilation.
A suction fan cap of the type mentioned is already known from EP - A-0117 391. In the known suction fan cap, the sealing lip has a flexible carrier strip which is designed like a comb, the teeth being connected to one another by a spreading edge strip bridging the tooth gaps and made of flexible material.
Fan caps are known from DE-A-22 56 675, DE-A-22 62 924 and DE-A-27 07 384, in which outside air is supplied to the roof interior. In contrast to the suction fan cap mentioned above, there is no ventilation, but ventilation.
In the fan cap known from DE-A-22 56 675, two sealing lips and offset ventilation openings provided in the sealing lips attempt to separate entrained water, flying snow and dust, so that ultimately the air entering the roof structure is practically free of entrained substances .
The fan cap known from DE-A-22 62 924 functions in a similar manner to that described above. There baffle walls are provided in the ventilation parts, in which water and flying snow should separate.
Finally, in the case of the fan cap known from DE-A-27 07 384, lateral tongues are provided in the edge area, which are spaced apart by a distance of 1 millimeter. Ventilation openings in the actual sense are not provided. This known fan cap works in such a way that snow is prevented by the tongues, but at the same time ventilation of the ridge area is to be ensured via the gaps between the tongues.
The common feature of the aforementioned fan caps is that the roof area is ventilated via the edge area. Smaller leaks do not play a major role in these fan caps, as long as it is ensured that moisture or dirt particles cannot penetrate through these leaks.
The invention is based on the object of providing a suction fan cap of the type mentioned at the outset which is easy and reliable to enter prevents dirt, moisture and false winds between the suction fan cap and the roof covering elements.
This object is achieved in that the edge area is shaped according to the surface contour of the roofing elements and that the sealing lip has directly adjacent lamellae, which are separated from each other only by incisions lying next to one another at a uniform distance.
Due to the arrangement of the sealing lip that clings to the surface contour of the roof covering elements and the immediately adjacent lamellar sealing lip on the edge region of the suction fan cap, a reliable seal between the suction fan cap and the roof covering elements is achieved in a simple manner even with large manufacturing tolerances or inaccurate laying of the roof covering elements, so that the penetration of moisture and dirt is prevented and the full suction power and ventilation effect of the suction fan cap is retained.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the sealing lip consists of a lamella band which has the closely spaced lamellae and which is fastened, in particular glued, to the upper and / or lower surface of the edge region. This lamella band can be, for example, a stable plastic film which projects beyond the edge region in the same plane in which the edge region of the suction fan cap lies and in which the lamellae are formed by incisions running perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the suction fan cap.
However, it is also possible to form the sealing lip integrally with the edge region in that the wall thickness of the edge region is reduced towards its edge up to the wall thickness of a flexible film. Such a sealing lip is easy to manufacture and additional assembly steps are unnecessary.
Further advantageous embodiments or design variants of the invention can be seen from the subclaims.

The

The edge area 4 is delimited by a
Furthermore, it is possible for the
Due to the lamella-like design, the sealing
The
Furthermore, it is possible to design the
