Abstract

What is described is a hinged joint 1, especially for windows and doors or the like, in which two hinge parts 2 and 3, namely a frame hinge part 2 and a wing hinge part 3, are connected to one another by means of a hinge pin 4 engaging axially releasably into their hinge sleeves 5 and 6. The hinge pin 4 carries at one end a thickened head part 10 forming an axial push-in limitation and, at a distance from its head part 10, possesses in the shank a recess 9, into which a peg 7 or the like, insertable releasably into one of the hinge parts 2 and 3, engages as an element preventing axial displacement of the hinge pin 4. At the same time, the head part 10 is coupled positively but releasably to the hinge pin 4 via a slotted guide 11 directed transversely relative to the longitudinal axis of said hinge pin. The slotted guide 11 is located in a region of the length of the head part 10 which is matched to the diameter of the hinge pin 4 and which can be shifted together with the hinge pin 4 into the hinge sleeve 6 of the adjacent hinge part 3. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a hinge joint, in particular for windows, doors or the like, in which two hinge parts, namely a frame hinge part and a wing hinge part, are connected by an axially releasably engaging hinge pin in their hinge sleeves, the hinge pin concealing one end at one end Bears head part, which forms an axial insertion limit, and wherein the hinge pin has a recess in the shaft at a distance from its head part, in which a pin or the like releasably insertable into one of the hinge parts engages as a securing element against axial displacement of the hinge pin.

Hinge joints of this type are already known, as can be seen, for example, from DE-GM 1 716 228 and DE-GM 1 833 909. They have also proven their worth in practical use because the hinge pin passes through both hinge parts along their entire length, thereby ensuring permanent, secure storage.

In today's window and door constructions - especially when it comes to light metal and / or plastic profile frame designs - the hinge joints are often installed in the immediate vicinity of the sash and frame corners because there is an optimal anchoring of both the frame hinge parts as well as the wing hinge parts can be reached.

The hinge joints are then only a relatively short distance from the adjacent wall reveal after the windows and doors or the like have been installed in building walls. For practical reasons, this so-called free dimension is kept as small as possible and is generally much smaller than the effective length of the joint bolts connecting the two hinge parts of a hinge joint. However, since the hinge pin must be pullable in the axial direction in order to uncouple the two hinge parts of each hinge joint, namely for hooking and unhooking the wings, it is always necessary in the known hinge joints on the fully installed windows, doors or the like Insert the hinge pin into the hinge parts of the hinge joints in such a way that the thickened head part forming the insertion limit is in any case turned away from the adjacent wing and frame corner. Only then can it be ensured that, if the windows and doors or the like are properly installed, the sash can subsequently be easily attached and detached to the frame.

On the other hand, it is not always ensured that the locking element or the like, which acts as a securing element against axial displacement of the hinge pin on the one hand with this and on the other hand with one of the hinge parts, or is permanently used in its inserted position, is a permanently faultless and safe function the known hinge joints not guaranteed. Especially in the case of the hinge joints installed in the area of the upper window and door corners or the like, the unsecured hinge pin can slip out of both hinge parts, so that the hinge joint becomes ineffective and the wing is no longer properly held. It can fall out of the frame and cause accidents as well as damage itself.

The invention aims to provide a hinge joint of the type mentioned, in which the hinge pin can be used in the two hinge parts to be connected in any possible installation case so that its thickened head part, even when the securing element is loosened or not present, causes it to slide out undesirably can prevent.

On the other hand, however, the head part is intended to enable the hinge pin to be pulled out of the hinge joint against its supporting effect.

The desired goal is achieved by the features that the head part is coupled with the hinge pin in a form-fitting but releasable manner via a link guide directed transversely to its longitudinal axis, and the link guide lies in a length section of the head part which is matched to the diameter of the hinge pin and which lies with the hinge pin in the joint sleeve of the adjacent hinge part can be engaged.

As long as the link guide coupling the head part with the hinge pin is received within the adjacent hinge part, the head part cannot be detached from the hinge pin. It is therefore first necessary to move the hinge pin against the direction of action of the head part so far in the hinge joint that the link guide is exposed for laterally decoupling the head part. Only then can the hinge pin be completely pulled out of the two hinge parts of the hinge joint in question in the opposite direction.

To fix the hinge pin against undesired axial displacement and thus also against decoupling of the head part, the pin or the like, which is known to act as a securing element with the recess in the shaft of the hinge pin and a hinge part, is used.

According to the invention, it has proven particularly useful if the link guide consists of mutually complementary, cross-sectionally T-shaped or dovetailed profile parts, one of which is formed at the end of the hinge pin and the other at the reduced-length section of the head part.

A particularly advantageous design for the hinge part is achieved if, according to the invention, the hinge pin has a mushroom head attachment with a circular circumferential boundary, while the head part has only one side radially open engagement pocket is provided for this mushroom head approach. With little play to the shape of the mushroom head profile of the pocket, the headboard can be coupled with the link guide sideways with the hinge pin so that it is in perfect axial alignment with it and thereby enables easy insertion into the adjacent hinge part.

In the drawing, a preferred embodiment of the object of the invention is shown. It shows
  • 1 is a longitudinal section of the overall structure of a functional hinge joint,
  • 2 shows a section along the line II-II through the hinge joint according to FIG. 1,
  • 3 in a sectional view corresponding to FIG. 1, the hinge joint in an axial sliding position of the hinge pin, which enables its head part to be uncoupled,
  • 4 shows a section along the line IV-IV in FIG. 3,
  • Fig. 5 is a section along the line V - V in Fig. 4 and
  • 6 shows a section along the line VI - VI in FIG. 4.

The hinge joint 1 shown in the drawing has, according to FIGS. 1 and 3, two hinge parts 2 and 3, namely a frame hinge part 2 and a wing hinge part 3 and a joint pin 4 connecting them to one another.

The length dimension of the hinge pin 4 is matched to the total length of the hinge joint 1 or the common length of the frame hinge part 2 and wing hinge part 3, as can be clearly seen in FIG. 1.

The hinge pin 4 is axially detachably inserted in the two hinge sleeves (5 and 6 of the frame hinge part 2 and wing hinge part 3 and fixed in one of them, for example in the hinge sleeve 5 of the frame hinge part 2 against undesired axial displacement. In the exemplary embodiment, a pin-like securing element, for example a stud screw, is used for this 7, which can be screwed into a thread 8 of the frame hinge part 2 and thereby engages in a groove-like circumferential recess 9 of the hinge pin 4.

So that the wing hinge part 3 of the hinge joint 1 cannot be lifted upwards from the hinge pin 4, the latter bears at its upper end a thickened head part 10 which, like a collar, overlaps the upper end of the joint sleeve 6 of the wing hinge part 3, as is clearly shown in FIGS 1 and 2 of the drawing can be seen.

So long as the locking screw 7 serving as a securing element is held via the thread 8 in the frame hinge part 2 and at the same time engages in the groove-like peripheral recess 9 of the hinge pin 4, the hinge joint 1 is secured via the head part 10 against lifting of the wing hinge part 3 from the frame hinge part 2.

If the stud 7 is unscrewed from the thread 8 of the frame hinge part 2, then it also disengages from the peripheral recess 9 of the hinge pin 4. The latter is then free for an axial displacement in the joint sleeves 5 and 6 of the frame hinge part 2 and wing hinge part 3. However, it is prevented by the head part 10 from falling out in an undesirable manner. The hinge joint 1 can therefore not become ineffective easily or in an undesirable manner even after removal of the stud screw 7.

If the frame hinge part 2 and the wing hinge part 3 of the hinge joint 1 are to be uncoupled from one another, it is rather first of all necessary to remove the stud screw 7 from the thread 8 of the frame hinge part 2 so that it also disengages from the circumferential recess 9 of the hinge pin 4. Then it is then necessary to bring the hinge pin 4 from the lowered axial position corresponding to FIGS. 1 and 2 into the raised axial position according to FIGS. 3 and 4, so that the thickened head part 10 can be uncoupled from the hinge pin 4. Only after the head part 10 has been removed from the hinge pin 4 is it then possible either to pull the wing hinge part 3 upward from the hinge pin 4 or to pull the hinge pin 4 downward out of the wing hinge part 3 and possibly also out of the frame hinge part 2.

So that the head part 10 can be removed from the hinge pin 4 in its axial position shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 and can also be put back on, there is an interlocking guide 11 between the head part 10 and the hinge pin 4, which is transverse to the longitudinal axis of the hinge pin 4 extending orientation. This link guide 11 consists of two complementary matching, in cross-section T or dovetail-shaped profile parts 12 and 13. The profile part 12 is integrally formed on one end of the hinge pin 4 and designed as a mushroom head approach, which has a circular circumference. The other profile part 13, on the other hand, is located in a stepped length section 14 of the head part 10, namely a length section 14 which is matched to the outer diameter of the hinge pin 4 and is formed by an engagement pocket 15 which has only one radial opening 16 on one side.

Since the contour of the engagement pocket 15 is adapted to the circumferential limitation of the mushroom-head attachment with little radial play, when the head part 10 is slid onto the hinge pin 4 so precisely an axial alignment takes place that during the subsequent axial displacement of the hinge pin 4, the offset length section 14 easily goes into the joint sleeve 6 of the wing hinge part 3 occurs and thereby the head part 10 is fixed in position on the hinge pin 4.

The head part 10 with the engagement pocket 15 which forms the link guide 13 and is only radially open on one side can be produced particularly cost-effectively as a die-cast molded part made of metal or as an injection molded molded part made of plastic, while the hinge pin 4 with all of its molded-in and molded-on parts as a Turned part made of metal, especially steel. Frame hinge part 2 and wing hinge part 3 of the hinge joint 1 can not only be produced as die-cast molded parts made of metal or injection molded molded parts made of plastic, but can also be produced as punched and bent parts made of sheet metal if necessary.
