Description

The invention relates in its most general aspect to a brush intended to be driven by means of rotation.

Conventional rotary brushes are generally satisfactory, but they introduce difficulties in certain cases, for example when it is desired to brush transversely over a large width, a situation in which a particularly bulky brush must be used since the brushing width corresponds to the diameter of the brush.

A brush has already been proposed (see DE-A-2,825,090) comprising a belt whose external profile is provided with bristles by means of rigid bodies glued to the belt, and whose internal profile has teeth to cooperate with pulleys rotary.

The invention aims to increase the possibilities of brushes driven by means of rotation.

To this end, it offers a brush comprising a belt provided with bristles on its external profile while its internal profile is adapted to cooperate with rotary pulleys, characterized in that the bristles are installed obliquely on the belt.

The latter can thus be arranged in a plane having an orientation similar to the surface to be brushed, which offers the advantage of limiting the overall height of the brush above this surface.

In the brush according to the invention, the frame carrying the bristles is not a circular plate or a rigid cylinder, but a belt which can be made to take the most diverse contours by acting on the number, size and arrangement. pulleys with which it cooperates.

It can thus take in a particularly simple case, by cooperating with two relatively pulleys distant from each other compared to their diameter, an oblong shape which offers the advantage of allowing a transverse brushing over a large width with a very reduced longitudinal bulk.

It can also take a polygonal contour with more pulleys, for example a triangular contour which makes it possible to brush longitudinally a V-shaped hollow, including the tip.

In addition, if one of the pulleys has a relatively small diameter, it allows the brush to reach the bottom of the recesses located in front of this small pulley.

In addition to the increase in the possibilities of brushes driven by rotary means which it provides, the brush according to the invention also offers the advantage of having a reduced weight compared to conventional rotary brushes, since it is formed by reduced volume of material.

The invention also relates, in a second aspect, to a brushing assembly comprising rotary pulleys and a brush as previously exposed; and in particular a brushing assembly having an oblong shape.

The brushing assembly advantageously has this shape, for reasons of simplicity, thanks to an oblong support on which the pulleys are mounted, and it preferably comprises on said support a motor to drive one of the pulleys, it is indeed particularly convenient that the motor which sets the brush in motion is on the same support as the pulleys, the brushing assembly can thus be movable by simple movement of the support.

The invention also relates, in a third aspect, to a cleaning machine comprising at least one brushing assembly as described above.

In this same aspect, it relates in particular to cleaning machines of the kind comprising a movable body, a ventral tool for bringing into a bin waste located under the body, and on each side of the body in front of the ventral tool, a lateral tool for bringing back to the ventral tool the waste located on the sides of the body; the machines according to the invention characterized in that the lateral tools include an oblong brushing assembly as previously exposed.

They thus offer the advantage of having on each side a large lateral cleaning width under a reduced longitudinal bulk; and also allow, thanks to the end of their lateral tool, to be cleaned the recesses of the walls they run along.

According to preferred characteristics, the lateral tools are movable in translation in a direction transverse to said body, in order to vary the cleaning width of the machine. Indeed, thanks to their oblong nature, the lateral tools are easily rectractable in the body in a transverse movement which allows the lateral tools to remain correctly positioned relative to the ventral tool.

  • la figure 1 est une vue schématique en plan d'un ensemble de brossage comportant une brosse conforme à l'invention coopérant avec deux poulies dont la taille et la disposition lui donnent un contour oblong ;
  • la figure 2 est la vue en coupe indiquée en II-II sur la figure 1 ;
  • la figure 3 est une vue schématique en élévation d'un engin de nettoyage conforme à l'invention ;
  • la figure 4 est une vue de dessus de cet engin ;
  • la figure 5 illustre de façon plus détaillée l'un des outils de brossage latéral de cet engin, suivant une coupe prise selon la ligne V-V de la figure 4 ;
The description of the invention will now be continued with the description of examples of embodiment of the invention in its various aspects, given below by way of illustration and without limitation with regard to the appended drawings in which:
  • Figure 1 is a schematic plan view of a brushing assembly comprising a brush according to the invention cooperating with two pulleys whose size and arrangement give it an oblong outline;
  • Figure 2 is the sectional view indicated in II-II in Figure 1;
  • Figure 3 is a schematic elevational view of a cleaning machine according to the invention;
  • Figure 4 is a top view of this machine;
  • FIG. 5 illustrates in more detail one of the lateral brushing tools of this machine, according to a section taken along line VV of FIG. 4;
  • Figure 6 is the section indicated in VI-VI in Figure 5; and
  • Figure 7 is a bottom view of this side tool.

As seen in Figures 1 and 2, the brush of the brushing assembly 1 shown has a belt 2 provided with bristles 3 over its entire length, but which has been illustrated here only partially to simplify the drawing . The bristles 3 are implanted in tufts on the external profile of the belt 2 while its internal profile is adapted to cooperate with rotary pulleys 4 and 5 which also includes the brushing assembly 1.

The pulleys 4 and 5, one of which is driving and the other driven, are relatively distant from each other compared to their diameter, so that the brushing assembly 1 has an oblong shape. As seen in Figure 2, the bristles 3 are installed obliquely on the belt, which allows the brush 2,3 to be arranged above the surface 6 in a plane having a similar orientation , the brush being in contact with the surface 6 by the ends of the bristles 3 without the belt 2 or the pulleys 4 and 5 touching it.

It will be observed that if the bristles had been implanted straight, it would have been necessary to have the belt in a plane transverse to that of the surface 6 in order to be able to carry out similar transverse brushing, which would have required a much greater overall height.

It will also be observed that in order to obtain the same transverse brushing width with a conventional rotary brush, the latter should have a diameter equal to the largest dimension of the brushing assembly 1, it would therefore have a much greater longitudinal bulk, and of the more we could not brush the bottom nooks you can reach here.

The cleaning machine 7 illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4 comprises a movable body 8, a ventral tool 9 for bringing into a bin 10 waste lying under the body, and on each side of the body 8, in front of the ventral tool 9, a lateral tool 11A and 11B comprising a brushing assembly 1, for bringing back towards the ventral tool the waste lying on the sides of the body, the pulleys 4 rotating in the direction indicated by an arrow, the machine 7 moving from right to left in Figures 3 and 4.

The lateral tools 11A and 11B are movable in translation in a direction transverse to the body 8, illustrated by the double arrows 12, between the extreme extended position shown and the extreme retracted position shown in phantom in FIG. 4.

Thus, in each position, they keep their orientation at an angle along the directions which form a V, the point of which is located in the body 8, so that they continue to bring the waste towards the ventral tool 9 whatever the position they were given to vary the cleaning width of the machine 7.

A titre d'exemple, l'engin illustré a un corps dont la longueur est de 40 cm tandis que la largeur maximale de nettoyage est de 82,5 cm.Note that it is particularly compact with respect to its cleaning width and the amplitude of the variations of this width. As an example, the machine illustrated has a body whose length is 40 cm while the maximum cleaning width is 82.5 cm.

On va maintenant décrire plus en détail l'ensemble de nettoyage 1, en référence aux figures 5 à 7.We will now describe in more detail the cleaning assembly 1, with reference to FIGS. 5 to 7.

The pulleys 4 and 5 are mounted on an oblong support 13, on which is arranged a motor 14 to drive the pulley 4, to which it is connected by an Oldham seal 15 and a reduction gear 16, an additional pulley 17 of smaller diameter being provided for tensioning the belt 2, that is to say that the assembly 1 finally comprises three pulleys arranged in a triangle on the support 13, the driving pulley 4 at one end of the support, the driven pulley 5 at the other end and the pulley 17 which forms the third vertex of the triangle.

As illustrated in Figure 5, the assembly 1 is inclined so that it is only the hairs located in front of the machine which are in contact with the surface 6, that is to say only the part useful of the brush, which has the advantage of minimizing the friction to which the brush is subjected, and consequently the wear thereof and the energy consumed.

The pulleys and the belt are all arranged below the support 13, the belt 2 is a belt of the well-known type called "toothed", a cover 18 is provided for the motor 14 and a cover 19 for the seal 15 and the reducer 16 , while rods 20A and 20B are mounted on the support plate 13 to allow the assembly l to be connected to the rest of the machine 7.

In the latter, the ventral tool 9 is formed by cylindrical brushes 21 and 22 arranged transversely, the brush 22 performing a longitudinal brushing of the surface to be cleaned; the body 8 is movable by two powertrains 23A and 23B arranged on the respective sides of the body, each comprising a motor 24 and a wheel 25; a suction assembly is provided in compartment 26, an electronic assembly is arranged in compartment 27 and batteries in compartment 28, below which there is a idler 29, while a handle 30 is provided on the before the craft.

It will be noted that this machine is provided with means enabling it to act independently to clean a room, and that it is one of the objects of a patent application filed jointly with the present application.
