Description

  • Die Erfindung betrifft die Verwendung von Vinylalkoholpolymeren, die neben Vinylalkoholeinheiten auch noch 1-Alkylvinylalkoholeinheiten enthalten, als Textilstreupulver zur temporären Fixierung von Textilien in der Textilverarbeitung.
  • Bei der industriellen Textilverarbeitung und Textilbearbeitung, zum Beispiel beim Stoffzuschnitt, müssen die Textilien temporär auf den Maschinenteilen fixiert und nach der Verarbeitung wieder entfernt werden. Weiter werden in der industriellen Textilverarbeitung Textilteile aus Rationalisierungsgründen nicht einzeln verarbeitet, sondern beispielsweise in Stapeln zugeschnitten, wobei die aufgestapelten Textilteile temporär während des Verarbeitungsschrittes mittels Verklebung miteinander verbunden werden.
  • Nach dem derzeitigen Stand der Technik werden zur temporären Fixierung von Textilien während der Verarbeitung, sowohl zur Fixierung von Textilien an Maschinenteilen, als auch zur Fixierung von Textilien untereinander Schmelzklebstoffe, wie sie für die Versiegelung von Textilien bekannt sind, eingesetzt. Beispiele hierfür sind Heißsiegelkleber auf der Basis von Polyethylen, Polyvinylacetat, teilverseifte Ethylen-Vinylacetat oder Vinylchlorid-Vinylacetat-Copolymere, und vor allem Polyamid (Textilbetrieb 95, Oktober 77, S. 59-61).
  • Nach der Verarbeitung müssen solche Fixiermittel aufgrund der hohen Waschbeständigkeit, die im Anwendungsbereich Textilverklebung gefordert wird, mit organischen Lösungsmitteln wieder entfernt werden.
  • Zur temporären Fixierung von Textilien auf textilen Untergründen bzw. Förderbändern, sowie für den medizinischen Bereich, wurden eine Reihe von Klebemitteln mit geringerer Waschbeständigkeit entwickelt. Teilverseiftes Polyvinylacetat wird zur temporären Versiegelung von Textilien auf textilen Untergründen empfohlen (JP-A 59/66474; CA 101:56242b). Nachteilig ist hier die noch immer hohe Wasserbeständigkeit und die geringe Haftung an metallischen Untergründen. Für die gleiche Anwendung wird ein teilverseiftes und teilacetalisiertes Polyvinylacetat empfohlen (JP-A 49/92368; Derwent: AN 75-39883w). Zur temporären Bindung von Textilien an Förderbänder wird ein Kondensationsprodukt aus Dicyandiamid, Formaldehyd, Harnstoff und Polyvinylalkohol empfohlen, das als Flüssigkleber aufgetragen wird. (PL-B 115835, CA 98:199798t). Als flüssige Fixiermittel für Textilien an Förderbänder sind noch wäßrige Dispersionen von modifizierter Stärke und modifizierter Cellulose (CS-B 201473, CA 97:217964e) und Polyacrylamid-Lösungen (CA80:49035f) bekannt. Polyvinylpyrrolidone sind im medizinischen Bereich gebräuchlich (US-A 3632547), werden aber auch zur temporären Textilfixierung auf metallischen Untergründen eingesetzt. Nachteilig sind hierbei die geringe, durch die Stickstoff-Valenzen vermittelte, Metallhaftung und der hohe Preis.
  • Aufgabe der Erfindung war es, pulverförmige, schmelzbare Polymere mit hervorragender Kaltwasserlöslichkeit zur Verfügung zu stellen, die in dem von der Textilindustrie geforderten Temperaturbereich gut siegelfähig sind, eine ausgezeichnete Metallhaftung bewirken und wegen ihrer Kaltwasserlöslichkeit leicht und schnell auswaschbar sind.
  • Gegenstand der Erfindung sind Textilstreupulver zur temporären Fixierung von Textilien, auf der Basis von polyhydroxylgruppenhaltigen Polymeren aus
    • a) 65 - 95 Gew.% Vinylalkoholeinheiten,
    • b) 5 - 35 Gew.% 1-Alkylvinylalkoholeinheiten mit C₁- bis C₄-Alkylgruppen und
    • c) 0 - 10 Gew.% Vinylestereinheiten von gesättigten Carbonsäuren mit 1 bis 20 C-Atomen.
  • Alkylvinylalkoholeinheiten enthaltende Polyvinylalkohole sind bislang nur als extrudierbare Thermoplasten (JP-A 52/57256, CA 88:75032n; JP-A 52/60842, CA87:11870 c), im Gemisch mit Gylcerin als Schmelzkleberzusammensetzung zur Verklebung von Pappen (JP-A 54/76634; CA 91:176392x), als Cobinder für Papierstreichmassen (DE-A 3622820), als rheologische Additive für wäßrige Dispersionen (DE-A 3724331) und als Schlichtemittel für Garne (DE-A 3724332) bekannt.
  • Die polyhydroxylgruppenhaltigen Polymere bestehen aus 65 bis 95 Gew.%, vorzugsweise 75 bis 85 Gew.% Vinylalkoholeinheiten.
  • Der Gehalt an 1-Alkylvinylalkoholeinheiten beträgt 5 bis 35 Gew.%, vorzugsweise 15 bis 25 Gew.%, wobei die Alkylgruppe 1 bis 4 C-Atome enthält. Besonders bevorzugt sind 1-Methyl-vinylalkoholeinheiten.
  • Gegebenfalls können die polyhydroxylgruppenhaltigen Polymere, zur inneren Weichmachung des Polymeren noch bis zu 10 Gew.%, vorzugsweise bis zu 5 Gew.%, Vinylestereinheiten von gesättigten Carbonsäuren mit 1 bis 20 C-Atomen enthalten. Beispiele hierfür sind Vinylacetat, Vinyllaurat und/oder Versaticsäure(R)-Vinylester (VeoVa(R)), das sind Ester von durch Koch-Synthese hergestellten verzweigten Carbonsäuren.
  • Die Herstellung der Copolymeren erfolgt vorzugsweise in einer zweistufigen Verfahrensweise. In der ersten Stufe wird Vinylacylat, insbesonders Vinylacetat und/oder Vinylpropionat, mit 1-Alkylvinylacylat, insbesonders Isopropenylacetat und/oder Isopropenylpropionat, copolymerisiert. Gegebenenfalls kann die Copolymerisation auch noch in Gegenwart der unter c) genannten weiteren Vinylestercomonomeren erfolgen. Die Polymerisation erfolgt in gängiger Art und Weise, vorzugsweise in Substanz durch Blockpolymerisation oder durch Lösungsmittelpolymerisation bei einer Temperatur von 50 - 80°C. Die Polymerisation wird durch Zugabe gängiger Initiatoren radikalisch initiiert, zum Beispiel mit Peroxiden. Bei der Lösungsmittelpolymerisation erfolgt die Reaktion in organischen Lösungsmitteln, wie Alkoholen oder Estern. Beispiele hierfür sind Ethanol, Propanol, Isopropanol, sowie die Methyl-, Ethyl- oder Propylester der Essigsäure. Die Einstellung des Molekulargewichts kann durch Zugabe von Reglern, wie zum Beispiel Acetaldehyd, oder durch Variation der Initiatorkonzentration oder der Temperatur erfolgen. Nach der Polymerisation werden überschüssiges Monomer, sowie gegebenenfalls Regler oder Lösungsmittel, durch Destillation abgetrennt.
  • In der zweiten Stufe wird das so erhaltene Copolymerisat in an sich bekannter Weise, zum Beispiel nach dem Band- oder Kneterverfahren, im Alkalischen oder Sauren, unter Zugabe von Solvolyse- oder Hydrolysekatalysator oder von stöchiometrischen Mengen entsprechender Reaktionspartner, zum Beispiel Metallhydroxide, solvolysiert bzw. hydrolysiert. Das Produkt wird anschließend gemahlen.
  • Durch Sieben und Sichtung wird eine Teilchengröße kleiner als 200 µm, vorzugsweise zwischen 50 und 200 µm, eingestellt. Vorzugsweise haben die erfindungsgemäßen Copolymere ein viskosimetrisch bestimmtes mittleres Molekulargewicht von 10000 bis 30000.
  • Die erfindungsgemäßen Textilstreupulver können gegebenenfalls noch Hilfstoffe, beispielsweise Füllstoffe enthalten.
  • Zur Fixierung der Textilien wird das Streupulver vorzugsweise in einer Menge von 5 bis 50 g/m², insbesonders 10 bis 30 g/m², auf die Stoffbahn aufgetragen. Die Auftragung kann nach beschriebenen Verfahren, zum Beispiel im Pulverstreuverfahren, mit den üblichen Bestreuvorrichtungen erfolgen. Bei einer Temperatur von 60 bis 160°C wird das Textil auf dem Substrat fixiert. Nach dem Verarbeitungsschritt werden die Textilien voneinander oder von den Verarbeitungsvorrichtungen abgezogen. An den Maschinenteilen oder den Textilteilen anhaftende Reste des Fixiermittels lassen sich sofort mit kaltem oder heißem Wasser entfernen.
  • Das erfindungsgemäße Textilstreupulver eignet sich gleichermaßen für die Fixierung sowohl von Naturfaser- als auch Kunstfaserprodukten. Gegenüber herkömmlichen Fixiermitteln zeichnet es sich durch die ausgezeichnete Haftung der Textilien untereinander bzw. an den metallischen Teilen der Verarbeitungsvorrichtungen aus. Gleichzeitig lassen sich die Textilien nach der Verarbeitung ohne Probleme wieder ablösen. Vor allem aber können anhaftende Fixiermittelreste sogar mit kaltem Wasser sofort entfernt werden.
  • Das nachfolgende Beispiel dient zur weiteren Erläuterung der Erfindung.
  • Beispiel:
  • Mit einer Pulverstreuanlage wird das auf eine Korngröße von 80 - 200 µm gemahlene Pulver, bestehend aus einem Copolymer mit 85 Gew.% Vinylalkoholeinheiten und 15 Gew.% 1-Methyl-vinylalkoholeinheiten, vollflächig auf eine Baumwoll-Textilbahn aufgestreut. Die Auftragsmenge beträgt 15 g/m². Unmittelbar nach dem Aufstreuen des Pulvers erfolgt ein leichtes Ansintern des Pulvers mittels einer Infrarot-Strecke. Dieses Ansintern ist notwendig um das Pulver während der Konfektionierung auf dem Textil zu fixieren. Das derart ausgerüstete Textilteil wird mit einem damit zu vernähenden anderem Textilteil bei 150°C versiegelt. Nach dem Abschluß des Nähvorgangs wird der Klebstoff mit kaltem Wasser ausgewaschen.

Claims (4)

  1. Textilstreupulver zur temporären Fixierung von Textilien, auf der Basis von polyhydroxylgruppenhaltigen Polymeren aus
    a) 65 - 95 Gew.% Vinylalkoholeinheiten,
    b) 5 - 35 Gew.% 1-Alkylvinylalkoholeinheiten mit C₁-bis C₄-Alkylgruppen und
    c) 0 - 10 Gew.% Vinylestereinheiten von gesättigten Carbonsäuren mit 1 bis 20 C-Atomen.
  2. Textilstreupulver nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Polymere
    a) 75 - 85 Gew.% Vinylalkoholeinheiten und
    b) 15 - 25 Gew.% 1-Alkylvinylalkoholeinheiten enthält.
  3. Textilstreupulver nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Comonomere b) 1-Methylvinylalkoholeinheiten enthalten sind.
  4. Verfahren zur temporären Fixierung von Textilien, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Textilstreupulver gemäß Anspruch 1, 2 oder 3 verwendet wird, daß das Streupulver in einer Menge von 5 bis 50 g/m² auf das zu fixierende Textil aufgetragen wird und die Verklebung bei einer Temperatur von 60 bis 160°C erfolgt.
