Abstract

The proposed snap fastener made of spring sheet steel serves for the releasable fastening of doors, windows or the like mounted pivotably in a frame. The fastener consists of a catch (1) fastened to the pivotal part (15) so that it can spring open and having an insertion leg (9) inclined relative to the pivoting direction and a detent leg (10) angled relative to said insertion leg as well as an associated recess (17) in the frame (16) for the introduction of the detent edge (19) formed by the insertion leg (9) and detent leg (10). To ensure that the catch (1) shifts laterally in parallel with the carrier plate, the catch (1) is displaceably guided in a straight line transversely to its pivoting direction (arrow P) in a housing (2) and is supported at its rear end on the housing (2) by means of a spring leg (13). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a snap lock made of spring sheet metal for the detachable fastening of doors, windows or the like pivotably mounted in a frame according to the preamble of claim 1. Such a snap lock can be used, for example, to fasten a glass plate in the frame of a stove door with a peep window, if necessary, it should also be possible to open the snap-in glass plate. For this purpose, in the case of the catch attached to the pivotable part, the insertion leg and the latching leg angled thereon are inclined in the opposite direction to the pivoting direction.

In a snap lock of this type which is used in practice, the snap is connected in one piece to a fastening plate which is glued to the glass plate. There, when the catch is inserted into the recess in the frame part, the insertion leg is first bent back from the frame edge, as a result of which the latching edge, i.e. the place where the locking leg is angled on the insertion leg, glides past the inside of the frame until it dips into the recess as a result of the restoring force and ensures the desired hold with the locking leg in the recess.

With this type of snap closure, it is perceived as a disadvantage that the latching edge moves on an arcuate line when it is bent back, so that the spring engages less deeply into the recess depending on the tolerance-dependent distance of the snap line of the latch from the frame and thereby the latching effect can be affected.

The object of the invention is therefore to design the snap lock so that the latching edge dodges parallel to the carrier plate when the catch is pressed in and springs back again. This object is achieved in the present snap lock in that the catch is guided so as to be linearly displaceable transversely to its pivoting direction in a housing and is supported at the rear end by a spring leg on the housing.

The straightforward guidance of the locking edge and the spatial separation of the locking edge and spring element result in the following advantages:

The locking edge can be aligned much easier and more precisely to the position of the recess in the frame.

The rear resilient support allows a larger spring travel for the locking edge and thus a better tolerance compensation between the support plate and frame.

The sheet thickness of the catch can be selected independently of that of the housing so that an optimal locking and spring effect is achieved.

The features of the invention contained in the subclaims also offer further advantages. Thus, when designing the closure according to claim 2, the two parts can be assembled very easily, while claim 3 serves to increase the spring travel and claim 4 ensures better support of the latching leg when the catch is pressed in.

  • Fig. 1 den Schnappverschluß in Seitenansicht,
  • Fig. 2 den gleichen Verschluß in Vorderansicht,
  • Fig. 3 den gleichen Verschluß in Draufsicht,
In the drawing, an embodiment of the snap lock is shown and will be explained in more detail below. It shows
  • 1 is a side view of the snap lock,
  • 2 the same closure in front view,
  • 3 the same closure in plan view,
  • Fig. 4 shows the snap lock with carrier plate when pressed against the frame and
  • Fig. 5 shows the snap lock with the carrier plate after the snap in the frame.

The snap lock shown in the figures is composed of a snap 1 and a housing 2, in which the snap 1 is slidably guided. The housing 2 is in this case formed from a relatively rigid sheet and has a base plate 3 and two U-shaped upright side walls 4, which are provided in the edge regions 5 with longitudinal slots 6 running parallel to the base plate 3 for sliding guidance of the catch 1.

The catch 1 is formed from a somewhat thinner spring steel sheet and has a straight central part 7 with laterally projecting projections 8 which protrude into the longitudinal slots 6 of the side walls 4. For the assembly of the snap lock, it is important that the projections 8 only protrude as far as the side walls 4 of the housing 2 can be elastically bent apart.

The straight central part 7 is connected to the floor on one side, ie on the left side in the drawing plate 3 inclined insertion leg 9, from which from the locking edge 19 another leg, the so-called locking leg 10, is bent backwards, the angle of inclination alpha of the insertion leg 9 to the direction of displacement "R" of the locking edge 19 is advantageously greater than the angle of inclination beta of the locking leg 10 to the direction of displacement "R".

The locking leg 10 is pulled down to the base plate 3 and is supported on it with a further angled end 11. In addition, so-called beads 12 are embossed in the central part 7 to stiffen it, which extend in the longitudinal direction of the central part 7 into the insertion leg 9 and in the transverse direction to the projections 8. This and the support of the locking leg 10 with the angled end 11 on the base plate 3 ensure a clear parallel guidance of the catch 1 in the housing 2.

The catch 1 has at its rear end, i.e. on the right end in the drawing, a molded on the middle part 7 down to the base plate 3 spring leg 13, which is supported on a stop strip 14 on the base plate 3.

The mode of operation of the snap lock is clearly illustrated in FIGS. 4 and 5. The housing 2 is here glued with its base plate 3 to a glass plate 15 which is pivotally mounted in the frame 16 of a stove door, not shown, and which should snap into place in a recess 17 of the frame 16 on the freely movable side with the aid of the catch 1.

When the glass plate 15 is pressed on in the direction of the arrow "P", the latching edge 19 in the housing 2 is first pushed back parallel to the glass plate 16 by the cooperation of the insertion leg 9 with the frame edge 18 against the spring force of the spring leg 13. In the further course of the pushing in, the latching edge 19 slides along the frame 16 and snaps into the recess 17 due to the restoring force of the spring leg 13 as soon as the glass plate 15 bears against the frame edge 18. The plate 15 is now held in the frame 16, it can only be removed again when the catch 1 can be pushed back, for example by applying a strong tensile force to the glass plate 15 against the direction of the arrow "P", provided that the angle is not too small is selected, or by pushing away the locking edge 19, if appropriate access from the outside is provided for this.
