Claims (8)

  1. Brennstoffbrikett, enthaltend kohlige Brennstoffpartikel, die mit einem Bindemittel gebunden sind, welches Melasse in einer Menge von mindestens 2 % und ein anorganisches Härtungsmittel für die Melasse in einer Menge von 0,02 bis 5 % enthält, wobei beide Prozentangaben auf das Gewicht des Briketts bezogen sind, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Härtungsmittel ein Alkaliphosphat zusammen mit Phosphorsäure und/oder Schwefelsäure umfaßt.
  2. Brikett gemäß Anspruch 1, worin die Melasse in einer Menge von 2 bis 20 % enthalten ist, bezogen auf das Gewicht des Briketts.
  3. Brikett gemäß Anspruch 1 oder 2, welches im wesentlichen frei von synthetischen Polymer-Bindemitteln ist.
  4. Brikett gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 - 3, in dem der kohlige Brennstoff Holzkohle, Koks oder Kohle umfaßt.
  5. Brikett gemäß Anspruch 4, in dem die Kohle eine hochrangige raucharme nicht-backende Kohle ist.
  6. Brikett gemäß Anspruch 5, worin die besagte Kohle Anthrazit ist.
  7. Brikett gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 - 6, in dem der Brennstoff eine Teilchengröße unter 3 mm hat.
  8. Brennstoffbrikett gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 - 7, welches durch Extrusion, Ringwalzen- oder Walzenpressung, Drehtischpressung oder Pelletisierung geformt ist.
