- the green briquettes may be allowed to harden, for example, at room temperature over one to three days, or cured at elevated temperature (e.g. at 200 to 300°C for up to one hour). This hot curing may be carried out in an over containing an inert or partially inert atmosphere.
- Anthracite dust was dried, crushed and screened to approximately 3mm, and then mixed with 8% molasses, 1% phosphoric acid and 0.3% sodium orthophosphate. The mixture was then forced into briquettes and cured at 260°C for one hour in an oxygen-controlled atmosphere.
- the resulting briquettes were substantially non-friable and had satisfactory water-resistance.

Claims (8)
- Briquette combustible comprenant des particules combustibles carbonées liées ensemble grâce à un liant comprenant de la mélasse à raison d'au moins 2 % et un agent durcisseur inorganique de la mélasse à raison de 0,02 à 5 %, les deux pourcentages étant basés sur le poids de la briquette, caractérisée en ce que l'agent durcisseur comprend un phosphate de métal alcalin avec de l'acide phosphorique et/ou de l'acide sulfurique.
- Briquette selon la revendication 1, dans laquelle la mélasse est présente à raison de 2 à 20 % en poids de la briquette.
- Briquette selon la revendication 1 ou 2 essentiellement sans liant polymère synthétique.
- Briquette selon l'une des revendications 1 à 3 dans laquelle le combustible carboné comprend du charbon de bois, du coke ou du charbon.
- Briquette selon la revendication 4 dans laquelle le charbon est un charbon supérieur à combustion lente ne collant pas.
- Briquette selon la revendication 5 dans laquelle ledit charbon est de l'anthracite.
- Briquette selon l'une des revendications 1 à 6 dans laquelle le carburant présente une taille particulaire inférieure à 3 mm.
- Briquette combustible selon l'une des revendications 1 à 7, formée par extrusion, par pressage sur presse à anneaux cylindriques, par pressage sur presse à rouleaux, par moulage, par pressage sur table tournante ou par pelletisation.
