Definitions

  • the invention relates to an electrically shielded terminal block arrangement with terminal blocks which have a housing made of electrically insulating plastic, in the narrow sides of which access openings are provided for actuating internal conductor connections and for inserting the conductors to be connected, and with connections to a ground or ground potential, according to the preamble of Claim 1 (e.g. EP-A-0 191 943).
  • the present invention is therefore based on the object to provide an electrically shielded terminal block arrangement which can be reliably shielded from interference fields with little structural effort and taking into account the necessary creepage and clearance distances.
  • the solution according to the invention is that the terminal blocks of the arrangement are closed on their mounting side by an end plate made of electrically insulating plastic and the outer side surfaces of the terminal housings and their narrow outer top, back and front sides are merging and leaving each other leaving the inner surfaces of the access openings below are metallized at least up to and including a connection zone in the foot area of the terminal housing outside the terminal interior for connection to earth and ground potential and the end plates on all outer surfaces and in contact surface sections to the respective terminal housing, and the terminal housing in the corresponding contact surface sections are metallized to the end plate in the adjacent narrow sides.
  • the terminal block shown in the figures has a terminal housing 1 made of electrically insulating plastic, connections 2 being arranged in the interior of the terminal in the usual way, with which an incoming and an outgoing electrical conductor are connected to an electrically conductive busbar 3 connecting the connections 2 can.
  • connections 2 being arranged in the interior of the terminal in the usual way, with which an incoming and an outgoing electrical conductor are connected to an electrically conductive busbar 3 connecting the connections 2 can.
  • access openings 6 are provided in the usual manner for inserting the conductors to be connected.
  • access openings 8 are provided for a screwdriver in order to be able to reach the terminal screws assigned to the conductor connections 2 for making the conductor connection.
  • the interior of the terminal housing 1 is open on one side, the so-called mounting side, so that from this side the conductor connections 2, the busbar 3 and, if appropriate, are problem-free further electrical and electronic components can be introduced.
  • each terminal block in the terminal block arrangement according to the invention is assigned an end plate 10 made of electrically insulating material.
  • the end plate 10 is provided with locking pins 11 which can be locked in locking holes 12 in the terminal housing 1.
  • the terminal housing 1 and the end plate 10 are now metallized in special outer surface areas, which are described in detail below.
  • the metallization is illustrated in the figures of the drawing by dotting all the metallized surfaces concerned.
  • the terminal housing 1 is first completely metallized on its closed large side surface 13 opposite the assembly opening.
  • the narrow front surface 4 and the narrow rear surface 5 are also metallized, but with regard to the air and creepage distances, leaving out the inner walls of the access openings 6 for the incoming and outgoing conductors, which are therefore not metallized.
  • the narrow upper side 7 of the terminal housing 1 is also metallized, but this with the recess of the inner walls of the access openings 8 for the screwdriver, that is, the inner walls that lead to the clamping screws of the conductor connections 2. All of the surfaces mentioned are merged into one another, that is to say also in each case going vertically, so that all of the surfaces mentioned are always at the same potential.
  • the metallization expediently includes all the outer surfaces of the foot area, in particular, therefore, all conceivable surfaces of the latching foot 14, including the receiving space for a latching spring 15.
  • Such conventional latching springs 15 serve to latch the terminal block on the mounting rail 9.
  • the latching springs 15 consist of Metal. If, in such a case, a fast spring 15 is used as the latching element and the support rail 9 is at earth or ground potential, the locking of the terminal block on the support rail automatically leads to the desired connection of all shielding surfaces of the terminal housing 1 in a very simple manner the ground potential via the detent spring 15.
  • a receiving channel 16 in the lower foot region of the terminal housing 1, but at a distance from the interior of the terminal housing, the inner wall of which is also completely metallized, and also going over to the metallized front side 4 and the metallized rear side 5 of the terminal housing.
  • This offers a further very expedient possibility of simply connecting the electrically shielding surfaces to a ground or ground potential, in the event that one of the conductors to be connected is a so-called coaxial conductor 17 is at its ground or ground potential via a small connector a shield rail 18 to be inserted into the receiving channel 16 can be easily connected from electrically conductive material.
  • the lateral end plate 10 assigned to each terminal block of the relevant terminal block arrangement for closing the assembly opening is metallized on all outer side surfaces.
  • the outer large side surface and all the narrow side surfaces are all metallized.
  • common contact surfaces between the shielding plate 10 and the affected side wall of the terminal housing 1 created, both of which are also metallized and thus automatically effect the potential synchronization when mounting the end plate 10.
  • the inner walls of the locking holes 12 in the terminal housing 1 are metallized in the exemplary embodiment shown, and starting from them, in an electrically conductive transition to this, narrower outwardly leading metallized connecting strips 19, which are also electrically conductive in the metallization of the pass over the narrow front 4 and the narrow rear 5.
  • the two locking pins 11 are metallized on the shielding plate 10 and, starting from them and in electrical connection therewith, narrow metallization strips 20 in a corresponding position to the metallization strips 19, the connection strips 20 also in turn transitioning in a metallically conductive manner into the adjacent narrow sides of the shielding plate 10 .
  • the lower end of the shielding plate 10 after it has been mounted on the terminal housing 1 is illustrated in FIG. 1 by a dash-dotted line.
