Definitions
- the present invention relates to a coupling diaphragm which is arranged between two cavity resonators of a microwave filter and has at least two coupling openings which are dimensioned and placed in such a way that coupling between the same wave types occurs in the two cavity resonators.
- Such a coupling aperture is from IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, Vol. MTT-35, No. 12, Dec. 1987, pp. 1143-1149.
- the coupling openings are arranged in the coupling aperture in such a way that, if possible, only one single wave mode is coupled in the two cavity resonators separated from one another by the coupling aperture.
- the coupling openings are placed according to the prior art in such a way that the wave mode not to be coupled has the lowest possible field strength there.
- the invention is based on the object of specifying a coupling panel of the type mentioned in the the coupling openings are arranged so that the desired coupling is very strong, but each parasitic coupling is reduced as much as possible.
- the implementation of the coupling aperture carried out according to the invention brings about a very strong coupling of a first wave mode existing in both adjacent cavity resonators and at the same time still a second wave mode also existing in both cavity resonators via a plurality of coupling openings.
- parasitic coupling between non-similar wave modes is largely reduced.
- coupling orifices which can be used between the two adjacent cavity resonators is shown in FIG
- coupling orifices have two coupling openings K1 and K2 of identical dimensions.
- the locations for the coupling openings K1 and K2 are selected such that the magnetic field or a magnetic field component of the TE 11n wave mode existing in both adjacent cavity resonators at the coupling opening K1 is oriented in the same direction as with the coupling opening K2.
- the magnetic field, or a magnetic field component, of the TM 01m wave mode existing in both cavity resonators is also oriented at least almost parallel to the field of the TE 11n wave mode.
- the magnetic field or a magnetic field component of the TM 01m wave mode is aligned antiparallel to the magnetic field component of the TE 11n wave mode located there.
- the magnetic field component of the TM 01m wave mode is oriented in opposite directions, but it has the same field strength there.
- the coupling openings K1 and K2 have a greater extent in the direction of the magnetic fields or field tangents than transversely to them.
- the coupling openings can also have a different shape, deviating from the slot shape shown in FIG. 2.
- the wave modes are coupled via the magnetic field.
- coupling via the electric field can be realized.
Abstract
Description
- Eine solche Koppelblende ist aus IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, Vol. MTT-35, No. 12, Dec. 1987, S. 1143 - 1149 bekannt.
- Fig. 2 zeigt eine Koppelblende mit zwei Koppelöffnungen.
